I was in great hurry to move into a rented property at the earliest. Then I approached Gascoigne office in Basingstoke. I had an interaction with Gemma and asked her for viewing appointment of one property immediately. She positively responded and I had a viewing after an hour and finalized the property on Friday noon and moved into the flat on Tuesday evening. I should really appreciate CARLY'S support here to complete all the documentation and other formalities in very short time. She was very helpful by stretching her time to handover the keys to me. She was very approachable to get my all queries clarified. Overall I had very good experience.
Should've listened to the negative reviews. Use this branch if you want to endure a painstaking process that's made more complex than it need be . Completely dull experience when pursuing a property. Felt like I built a relationship with their team only to be cut off the moment someone offers more money. These people are just there for their commission sadly and could care less about one of the biggest purchases of your life. It's stressful enough getting your head around the chaotic process and the last thing you need is to be ignored during the bidding process and then shunned off to an entirely new colleague. Utterly appalling service... they even try to sell you houses without the correct paperwork presented. Latoya wasn't even any help and doesn't make you feel very reassured or comfortable. She doesn't speak a lot and feels intimidating when discussing your criteria, hardly a flying start to your new adventure. This branch seems to be tarnishing the Gascoigne-Pees brand.
First time buyers, all staff extremely helpful, and made us feel at ease throughout the whole process of this very daunting experience! Very knowledgeable and willing to either answer every question or find the answer to every question we had. Would highly recommend, we were expecting much worse after the horror stories friends have told from their experience with other estate agents...no horror stories here!
Awful after service.
Same problem with the house after 4 months with no intentions of fixing. Been reported 5 times and each one we are told 'we will look into it'
*Update* at the end of the contract they wanted £840 from our deposit for various rediculous reasons not stated in the contract. After going to the deposit scheme and submitting a claim, they got a grand total of £0 from us. Scamming agency and only in it for money.
Most sincere thanks to Lucy Reeves for sourcing a home for us in Thatcham. She went above and beyond to help us, always with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly recommend her to anyone searching for home.
Go online to sell, its cheaper & just as efficient, please do not respond with your standard template
Sale of property
By: 'Terry and Joan Palmer' Jan 27,2019
Branch: Burghfield Common, Glendale House Reading Road
Sales (as a Vendor)
We Found the process of selling our property made so much easier thanks to the professional, friendly approach used by Brian and Kelly. We received regular updates of what was happening with our sale. We have to give Kelly a special thank you she was excellent. We would definitely recommend this branch of estate agents to sell your property. Brian has an excellent team at Davis Tate, Burghfield Office.
Lettings team when moving in including Clare were great and very helpful. It seems as soon as you are moved in you get transfered to the very unhelpful and rude "Property Management" team, Peter in particular was very rude and when doing management visits taking images and commenting on personal pictures and furnishing found quite intrusive. Issues when checking out also which had to go through deposit protection company to resolve.
Very pleased with Shaun's communication and effectiveness during the purchase of our new home. Would recommend his services.
I recently invited Knight Frank to value my property, but was very disappointed by the approach of Shaun Hobbs. Shaun didn't show clear evidence that he had researched any similar properties, before attending the valuation. He explained that his valuation was based on my neighbour property, even though it's a much smaller house and doesn't benefit from the same amount of land. I couldn't see why he had made such a comparison and I did mention this at the time, but he gave no explanation.
While I was speaking to Shaun, he cut across my conversation several times and then advised, that my property would have been worth more had it been in another location. A comment which I thought was totally pointless, rude and unprofessional.
I have since received additional valuations from three other local estate agents, and they all valued my property at a hundred thousand pounds more, than Knight Frank. The other estate agents also all attended the valuation, with evidence of similar properties in the local area and unlike Shaun, they had clearly prepared for the meeting.
I wrote to Shaun explaining that I thought he had undervalued my property, and that I had found his manner, rude and unprofessional. No apology was forthcoming, which didn't surprise me at all.
I certainly wouldn't recommend this company, you may not be receiving the best advice.
Very caring and helpful staff. The staff show and interest and are willing to help with any questions or queries you have
I used to find it unfair that letting agents got a bad reputation. How swiftly things change. I'm sure Northwood are fantastic for landlords but I strongly recommend any prospective tenant's use serious caution when looking to rent through Northwood. In seven years of renting, never have I lived in such a poorly managed house with such ingrained issues. Of course, being the tenant's, these were our fault and thus we must pay...
