PLEASE READ AND BEWARE! We had Allen & Harris Helensburgh Branch Manager Clayton McGuiness handle our property Sale, which initially started off in good faith with him coming to assess our property. After a thorough walk through of our property he very confidently gave us a "conservative" Offers Over starting figure we were more than happy with (his words). Clayton came across as the Consumate Professional and we were happy to be guided by his expertise. The next stage was an organised Home Report being carried out and Marketing photo shoot planned in. The date was planned for the photo shoot and the Surveyor arrived on the Monday, advising us we would have the Home Report by the Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday came and went with no Home Report. On the Friday we then had a late phone call from Clayton, who very sheepishly advised that the Home Report came in at a staggering £40,000 lower than his initial "conservative" Offers Over" starting price. To say the wind was completely taken out of our Sails would be a massive understatement. With the snowball effect this MASSIVELY impacted on our house search and bid which was by now completely blown out the water. Consequently, our House Sale and House Purchase fell though completely, leaving us more than £1000 out of pocket in Fees and bitterly disappointed. It is our opinion that either the Helensburgh Allen & Harris Branch Manager or their Surveyor, or both, are completely out of touch with the Housing market. Please tread VERY carefully when choosing your Estate Agent. : Post discussing our concerns with Allen &Harris they refuted and denied all wrong doing and firmly laid the blame at their Surveyors door, Harvey Donaldson Gibson, claiming they were out of touch with reality (A&H Branch Manager Clayton claiming long conversations trying to get them to see reason) and advising us to pursue this avenue of complaint with Harvey Donaldson Gibson. In all honesty, it was the response we expected. One blaming the other. If nothing else but experience is to be gained from this, PLEASE consider your Helensburgh Estate Agent choice carefully. Slater Hogg & Howison apparently is the way forward for Professionalism, Customer satisfaction and overall good Customer relations in Helensburgh. Do NOT be hoodwinked by unprofessional half hearted companies like Allen & Harris. Learn from our experience.... Read more

I recently sold my flat with Allen and Harris in Helensburgh. I cannot fault the professional service I received, from the Home Report, to the viewings, the offers and the sale. The agent assigned to me, Patricia Dean went above and beyond to assist me and she kept me up to date every step of the way. I could call her anytime if I had a question and she always responded promptly with a cheerful, helpful, friendly attitude. If Tricia wasn't there one of the other team members was always happy to help. Even the after care service is second to none.
