Amos did all the viewings for us as we were on holiday and used WhatsApp to keep us updated on everything. How can appraisals from Hockley and Hadleigh offices come up with a £225,000 price variation within 3 months on a £800,000 property??
Updated from reply.
The sale as advised two years ago and also confirmed 3 months ago to both of us, was always just the house as you know. The development behind that you say was included in your appraisal, sold in excess of 800k and was handled by another agent.
That alone would make your valuation more confusing.
I did reach out to both offices with no further explanation.
I’ve now found an agent locally who meets my criteria so will end any more dialogue.

Amos have done a great job of managing my rental property for over 2 years now. Everything is super easy - always receive my rent and monthly statements on time, inspections go ahead every 6 months without me needing to organise and I get the report emailed over straight away. What can we say, we couldn't recommend Amos more highly! They are by far the best agent we have ever used.
When listing our property, we had 4 other agents round, and Amos were the best by a mile. Rob and Darren were both so professional, we liked and trusted them straight away - they couldn't be further from the typical estate agent stereotype.
They worked to our timescale, and marketed our house as instructed. Their photos were fabulous, and the drone shots really added something special. They took the time to write a bespoke advert. We were so happy with the marketing.
Within 1 day, we had 3 viewings and an asking price offer. Theres a reason why Amos are the no1 estate agent in the area.... this is it!
Their dedicated sales progression team are great, an invaluable service to offer. Chelsea kept in contact with both solicitors, and provided us all with weekly updates. Ive just started renting through Amos Estates and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I spoke to Josh on the phone who provided me with information on the property and he booked me in for a viewing then and there. At the viewing Jess was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had regarding the property. Josh sent me through an offer form and explained the next steps carefully and thoroughly. Catherine on the Lettings team was also extremely helpful in guiding me through what I need to do for referencing and signing the tenancy agreement, making the whole process entirely stress free. The Lettings Manager Tom handled my deposit and informed me of what would happen and how I can get my deposit back in the future and was always there if I needed any extra help or information too.
Easily the best estate agency I’ve used! Miles above the rest in terms of efficiency, client support and professionalism.

Contact Amos on the day a new property was released in order to arrange viewing. I used my African name in the viewing and they immediately said that the landlord was not accepting viewings and the property was not available. A week later I asked my Personal Assistant to use her English name to arrange a viewing on the property and she was told that the property was available and they had lots of viewings.
Edit: Amos later said to my personal assistant that they would make the booking in my name, after it was pointed out to them. However they still did not book the viewing in my name.
The woman who lied to me about the availability later phoned me and did not apologise but instead began rudely telling me she would cancel my viewing unless I removed this review, even though at this point they still hasn't booked the viewing in my name (how can they cancel a viewing that they haven't even booked).
You can see from their reply they are not interested in apologising or addressing this behaviour but instead in threatening me.
I hope they do speak to their solicitor because hopefully then they can be advised that Under the Equality Act 2010, it is illegal for businesses to refuse to provide a service based on ethnicity.

We viewed a few properties with Amos and really liked their printed documents, no other agent seemed to do this, so it was a nice touch.
Andrew did many of the viewings and liked how he would give you some time to take a proper look, and not feel pressured or rushed.
Sales progression and keeping people up to date is probably the most important aspect of the purchase/sale. Chelsea is Amos' sales progresser and we'd actually previous met when viewing properties with another agent, joined the Amos team just after our initial offer was accepted, so it worked out perfectly when we were told that she was to be our go to person throughout the purchase.
Whether an email or a call, you'd immediately get a response and she even dug in to follow up other agents in the chain to give everyone a nudge and keep everything moving along swimmingly.
Thank you Chelsea for all your help from the initial viewings to advice in between and for always chasing and following up.
If you're buying or selling in benfleet or hadleigh you will want Amos in the chain somewhere for their awesome sales progression.

I've been renting a flat through Amos Estates for the last 6 years, and I have got nothing but praise for the people that work there. Everyone is friendly, professional and is quick to help if ever needed with an added (and appreciated) personal touch. From minor repairs to bigger jobs, I've never had a fault last more than a day, even during holidays.
I'd like to shout out one person in particular that I have dealt with throughout the last 3 (or so) years, Catherine. She's been wonderful, quick to help and very friendly. I recently had a slight lapse in judgement, I had called Amos about it and asked to speak to Catherine who was able to get me an answer on the particular question incredibly quickly which gave me complete and utter peace of mind.

Amos sent me to a property promising a landlord would meet me, not only was a landlord not there 3 other men were looking around the property and two of the tenants were there one was half naked in bed and the other was bothered about showing everyone around, pictures where not of the flat, flat needed to be redecorated, a good clean and there was sheets being used as curtains. As a young woman who visited with her 7 month baby felt very unsafe and when tried to message Amos and tell them I got a text back saying "sorry for the inconvenience"

Well, should you need a professional yet also humane and lovely bunch of people to deal with, well, here they are.
I am wary of Estate Agents and car dealerships with all of the usual patter and have been burnt in the past by listening to old school sales pitches BUT Darren and his team buck that trend. We have a property managed through Amos. It was the first time we have done anything like that and the whole process was as smooth as my husbands face after having visited the Turkish barbers. Easy, professional, kind, trustworthy, oh and everyone smells delicious in the office, which is more pleasing, I find. Don't you?
We have dealt with all of Darren's team from lettings, to sales and valuations and honestly, I have had a brilliant experience with all of them. No-one shows up in a shiny, ill-fitting suit and talks nonsense, everyone has been great with us.
Remember that Estate Agents are not responsible for the actions of others in your chain or indeed their solicitors but when my Mum moved recently and both of the aforementioned were tricky, Darren kept her up to date and went above and beyond to keep her calm about it all.
If you don't want to have an honest valuation on your house, go elsewhere BUT if you want to hear how to sell your house and to be treated as you expect to be treated, then Amos are for you.

I sold my house through Amos. Your mileage may vary but at various times I felt like they did not have my best interests at heart and it nearly cost me a fortune. My buyer tried to aggressively price gouge me some way into the sale and my agent at Amos pressured me to just accept this without investigating the claims made by the buyer. I am glad I investigated anyway because the gazumping failed, no thanks to Amos.

Started well but as the sale of my mum's house got more difficult so did the staff. When it fell through I gave them more time but with no luck. One member of staff speaks as if he was tutored in estate agent language! I left their agency and went elsewhere securing a buyer very quickly. When he called Amos to advise them they were rude about my solicitor and said it would never go through! Totally unprofessional.
They were also unperturbed about the client getting his post delivered to the house he had pulled out of buying!
