Went with bairstow eves as a big company but the manager George of this branch is hard to contact and has been unhelpful and quite abrupt at times. Still waiting for a copy of our contract since June 2024. Accepted an offer on our property and it was put as sold and not under offer or subject to contact. Buyer pulled out at last minute with no excuse. Since then had 2 viewers but absolutely no feedback from the company. Left messages and gone to branch but no communication happening. Very disappointed with George putting it mildly but Joni and Ben very nice and helpful. Please communicate all let us know what’s happening and where’s the contract. At our age we want a peaceful and happy life not a stressful one.

I'll start off with the fact George the Branch Manager is a very friendly and knowledgeable guy however the issue is he's extremely hard to reach and almost always on the road. I don't believe I've once been able to get hold of him directly and leaving messages with other members of staff just gets lost or forgotten until the 2nd or 3rd try.
This is particularly concerning when you're buying a property and need answers/updates throughout the extensive process of several months and at times requires urgent responses/actions.
Joni, our main agent, was lovely however he lacked experience and knowledge being new to the role, this really didn't help us particularly at the point of completion where we ended up having to arrange pick up of the key DIRECTLY with the seller as neither Joni or George were available to help... thankfully the sellers were lovely and warmly welcomed us to our new home plus left us a bottle of bubbly and a card. Something I would have expected the estate agent to do...
It’s essential to have efficient communication channels, especially during significant processes like property transactions. Hopefully, improvements can be made to ensure smoother interactions in the future!

I must praise this branch super highly. From the start George was professional and installed trust in selling our house. He kept both myself and my wife updated and was totally committed in selling my house in a quick and efficient manor which he did. When I met Holly for the first time, I was impressed by the professional, thorough and realistic approach to selling a property which she demonstrated, which inspired confidence. In practice, once I selected her and Bairstow Eves (Southgate) to find a buyer, these - high - expectations were fully met. From the outset, Holly set to work quickly to market the property to show its full attributes and potential, she then managed the buying process fairly and professionally, including competing offers, and she was also accessible and responsive to my queries during the whole process. The result was an exchange of contracts at a bit above our target price two months after she put the property on the market - an excellent result! Arranged a viewing as a potential chain free buyer. No confirmation email, and no attendance by estate agent despite waiting at the property for 15 mins. After numerous unanswered phone calls I attended the office only to be advised by Lorna (who booked the appointment with me) that she had forgot to put it in her diary. Very amateurish service, vendor has lost a potential buyer.

Thank you so much to Chris and the team at Baristow Eves, Southgate. I contacted them and they sold our property within 48 hours to the first viewer. They didn’t even have a chance to book for photos of the property as it was sold before even being marketed. The whole process ran smoothly and we exchanged contracts today! No pushy estate agent tactics either, they were happy to agree to our terms in regards to fees and it was smooth sailing from there on.

The reviews may be mostly very positive for buying/selling but as a tenant I have been left feeling very unsatisfied. Massive fees. The largest I have ever paid, with the most terrible service I have ever experienced. We have been largely ignored since we paid them.
Lied to at the start regarding fees. Empty promises. If you go with this agency make sure you get things in writing. Behind the smile lies a very ‘forgetful’ agency.
Paid £300 for a copy/paste tenancy agreement, this is in addition to reference check, admin fees, deposits etc. We were asked to sign amendments within weeks. Haven’t even got a paper copy.
Paid £80 for a check-in/inventory which ended up being just a very poor check-in. Still no idea where the gas meter is.
Maintenance problems reported in the flat have been left for months with no response. Asked if we could put curtains up but no response. 4 months now (No existing blinds, curtains, fixings).
Flat was dirty when we moved in.
Unprofessional. I will never deal with these again. Avoid if you can.

This is the first time in my whole life that I am giving a very positive response about anything to do with Estate Agents! Chris Gladwin is the most loveliest Estate Agent I have met. He is polite, respectful and very friendly. He is a delight to talk to and I have no desire to deal with anyone else in his office, although I am sure they are all good. He met me at the places I wanted to view. He is not pushy. He is knowledgeable and I am sure, would go out of his way to help. After another viewing today, I had to call his manager immediately and inform her how lovely he is. Credit where credit is due.

Finding a competent letting management is quite a roller coaster ride!! I had my property on the market for rent nearly a year with some other estate agent but unfortunately they could not get me a tenant. But when I came across Bairstow Eves estate agents and spoke to Ann Marie, the letting manager of the Southgate branch about my property, she took care of everything and got a tenant moved in within 2 months. I am very grateful to her for the quick and professional service that Ann marie and her team have offered. I must say this branch manager has got what it takes in dealing with properties.

Due to solicitors taking time asking questions that had been asked on numerious occasions I was getting really fed up with the constant delays and was seriously thinking of pulling out of the sale however after speaking to Lorna at the Southgate office I held back and let her try to sort things out (I didn’t hold much hope that she could get anything done) BUT she sorted it out within one and a half days she made it her mission to get the exchange done and she accomplished this perfectly
The only reason I held back was because she was efficient direct and when she encountered problems came back to me repeatedly to sort things out and keep me updated on the progress as it happens all the paperwork was with the buyers solicitor and she had to point this out to them repeatedly the buyer also pointed this out to their solicitor as he was getting as frustrated as I
I can highly recommend Lorna she alone saved this sale and I hope the buyers will also leave her a good review as they would still be arguing with their solicitor if it wasn’t for her intervention

The Southgate Branch and Ann Marie Rowland especially have been absolutley wonderful about helping us with problems to do with this property and have gone out of their way to solve problems that we could not have known about. Both Ann Marie Rowland and Holly McCarthy have always been available to help. Without Ann Marie's help we would still be trying to sort out a mess to do with repairs to the property that were difficult to discover and sort out.

Really poor service. I made appointment with the manager Holy last week for today 12noon. Less than 2 hours before they cancel it!!! And there is no one else in the company to give a valuation! Shocking
They used to be a good, reputable company, they are time wasters now, don't give a damn about clients.
