I’m renting a property through Ballards and it’s been a fantastic experience. Charlie and the team have been super responsive and helpful. Between my tenancy and the last, the place was refurbished beautifully. Final details were finished very quickly and the place is absolutely spot on. I was handed over to an automated system called Goodlord (actually name Oh Good Lord lol) for some of the financial arrangements. Whenever there was any hold ups as some it’s different to what I’m used to with signatures etc, Charlie and the team were again super responsive and helpful. Goodlord’s human team was helpful as well. Can’t recommend this estate agent highly enough.

Terrible experience. Im a buyer looking at a property worth £1.9m and there were no options to view at anytime past 4.30p. On a weekday.
Sellers be warned. The commission for selling a property like this would be upwards of £30k. The agent (Ryan in this case) wants to sell during office hours....
As someone with a decent portfolio and having sold many properties over the last few years, my agents (Woodleys) bend over backwards to secure sales for me.
If I owned this business I would be mortified.
I guarantee you, I would have purchased this house but have been completely putnoff by the agent.

I rented a property from Ballards for 4 years in Henley and both them, and the landlord were exceptional. I had a comfortable stay, no hassle, paperwork at the start was all arranged on time and I had no headaches starting my tenancy or even during. All maintenance issues I flagged were actioned timely and to high quality, the majority of the contractors were super nice and professional, with the rare unpleasant ones. But even in those cases Ballards handled the situation quite well.
I wholeheartedly recommend this agency for any tenant. They are quick, professional, lovely to interact with. My landlord was amazing too.

I put in interest of the morning of a new property advertisement and had given my details and my position to purchase being a first time buyer. I also told them I had a mortgage in principle and was ready to go for the right property. I was told by AJ Brewster when I called later that afternoon, the property was taken off sale and we would be contacted by them. I decided to call today as I had no update, and I was told that people had been chosen to view on their basis to move forward swiftly. Myself being a first time buyer with a mortgage in principle I thought the least they could do is to contact me if anything. AJ BREWSTER the company manager ended calling me pathetic for questioning the reasoning behind not being called for a viewing and at least being contacted. He went on to confirm the chosen people were not First come and first serve. It makes sense if they weren’t chosen on their current basis of being in a position to buy like myself, then it Comes down to seeing the names on paper. This is unacceptable by all means and not fair for anyone to be treated in such a manner . Not even an explanation is even given , and you are called names by the management , as they have no reasoning not to contact you. Everyone should be treated equally and not be treated any less than anyone else. This kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable. I do not wish anyone to go through the same experience with this company. I hope this helps them to better themselves to show equality and treat all customers fairly moving forward.

I live at Perpetual House in Henley, a gated community of 45 apartments. Today, contractors entered our development, parked their van and then left our development to conduct works at the apartment block across the road (Cherwell House). When the contractors returned, they informed me that Ballards had provided them with a remote fob to open our gates and use our private parking area, even though the tradesmen was not working here. This is a total abuse of the trust that has been granted to Ballards, it also breaches our security. Ballards were contacted, and I was greeted with the most arrogant attitude by one of their employees, who refused to return our remote fobs. I have no doubt that legal proceedings will follow as this is NOT acceptable, I have sent out an internal email to all residents advising them NOT to use Ballards in the future, as they have demonstrated they cannot be trusted!

Ballards have a very impressive inability to manage lettings properties properly 1) They do not have appropriately experienced lettings management capabilities to identify and manage problems as they arise in a timely fashion and are experts at letting issues run for months / years until they are fixed. More often than not they will ignore a problem even exists 2) In addition to this the tradesmen they hire lack any form of basic skills or experience & in addition to this lack responsiveness 3) The result of 1+2 is a complete shambles of a service and landlords and tenants should be very wary of transacting with them.

Utterly disgraceful. DO NOT USE BALLARDS.
We moved in to one of their property's in Henley in January. We went to put the heating on during the move in day and the boiler wasn't working. Obvioisly no gas inspection had been carried out prior to us moving in.
During one winter in the house, the wooden back door had become so rotten due to damp it broke in half leaving a 2 foot gap in it. Freezing winds were blowing directly into our living room. Multiple e-mails were sent to Huey (the lending agent at Ballards) to notify him of the problem, but nothing was done for 10 weeks.
The damp in the property got progressively worse, causing window sills to rot, matresses to be destroyed and clothes to be stained with mould. Over 20 e-mails were sent to Huey regarding the damp but nothing was done. The only 'advice' I had from him was "leave the windows open". This advice in the middle of winter was ridiculous, neadless to say a safety hazard. In the front bedroom the damp was so bad, the plaster was falling off the walls. Huey would repeadedly tell us "our workmen have been instructed to fix this". I found out this was a lie after contacting the workmen myself.
One day I got back from work and the house was covered in scaffolding. Ballards had instructed a new roof to be put on the house WITHOUT TELLING US!!!
Over our 2 year spell in the house, numerous problems arose with the property, but Huey at Ballards lied and avoided us so he could spend time sealing his next deal.
Untrustworthy, incapable, sneaky, shallow minded agents purely fixated on making their next lot of commision.
If you find the house of your dreams for a good price with Ballards. Do not rent from them, they are crooks who use every trick in the book to evade you.

The WORST Lettings Agency in the area. They are sharks, rude, unscrupulous and pieces of scumbags. Their level of education is not higher than GCSE, but their marks are high on deviousness and greed. Despicable people, despicable staff.
