17th Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer. Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.

She was always very informative with new properties that she thought might be right for us and every viewing we attended to Katie was always there waiting to greet us and ready to showcase the property to it’s full potential. Once we found are property Katie was amazing in helping us with every step of the way. She made the whole process very easy with constant support and communication between us chancellors head office and our new landlord. We truly appreciate everything Katie done for us and can only describe her as totally amazing and wonderful in her role as a chancellors letting agent . I do hope all your agents across the country are as wonderful as Katie. Thank you very much Katie you’re a star ??

They were flexible when arranging viewings, really proactive when dealing with Solicitors when the transaction was going through and helpful still once we had moved in and had any questions. Would definitely recommend!
17th Feb 2026 (16 weeks ago)We have rented out a property for some time; Hamptons have been the managing agent. The Letting Office have always been helpful and informative; in particular Sonja Broderick who always has time to listen to us. During our time we have had a number of property managers; currently Antony Bacon. Have to say Antony has been the best! He has been pleasant and helpful particularly now when we are dealing with a leak which had gone undetected for some time. He understands how we are feeling about the whole thing, is communicative with progress, and always willing to chase contractors to keep things moving.

Ben Baker was excellent from first meeting through to eventual Completion - polite, reliable and efficient, as also were Ceri and his support team. Moving after 34 years was always going to be challenging, but Hamptons made the whole process much easier for us. We are glad we chose them.

23rd May 2026 (16 days ago)I honestly can’t thank Trudy and Greg at Winkworth Reading enough for everything they did during the sale of my house. Selling a property can be incredibly stressful, but Trudy in particular went above and beyond to keep the process moving and, quite frankly, kept me sane throughout it all. She was proactive, persistent, reassuring and always kept me updated. When things became tense towards exchange and completion, she was constantly chasing solicitors, brokers and buyers to make sure everything stayed on track. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble for her. Greg was also fantastic behind the scenes and incredibly helpful whenever things needed sorting quickly. Together they made a brilliant team. What really stood out was the genuine care and humour they brought to the process — they made a very stressful experience feel manageable and human. I always felt supported and knew they were fighting my corner. If you’re selling in Reading, I would wholeheartedly recommend the Winkworth Reading team. Thank you again, Trudy and Greg — you were amazing.
27th Feb 2026 (14 weeks ago)We chose Bevilles to sell our much loved Edwardian property because of their long standing reputation as an outstanding estate agent. We were not dissappointed: We did not have a straightforward sale by any means, but Bevilles provided wise counsel throughout. They just have so many years' experience selling in Sonning Common and the neighbouring villages. They know the area and everyone knows them. It is not just Richard, but the whole team who work together and are always there when you need them. After two buyers pulled out and then seemingly endless viewings, our sale ended up in a bidding war. We were extremely pleased with the winning buyer who clearly loved the property as much as we did. We felt that, thanks to Bevilles, we were able to leave our rather special house and garden in very good hands.

Always available, always charming, always diligent in following up the slightest lead. He has already achieved a sale with one and I am sure will soon do so with the second.Very happy to have been introduced to him.

Anthony, Ben and the rest of team did a very good job throughout which resulted in the successful closing of the sale of our property. Their market knowledge is great and allow them to provide extremely useful guidance.
18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

Helpful at every stage of the process, shared his local knowledge, was always frank about any challenges that we would encounter, and even introduced us to the local community. Couldn’t recommend him and River Homes highly enough.

Libby, James and Becky make a fantastic team and always had our interests at heart. Henne in particular deserves a mention - she really helped when our chain was dragging by communicating up and down the line and keeping us informed every step. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Jason is extremely professional, has a wealth of knowledge and has a thoughtful approach to marketing and sales. He made contact regularly and if there was no news he would still touch base and give valuable advice to ensure the sale carried on quickly and efficiently which it certainly did. This was a somewhat emotional sale for me and I felt fully supported all the way through which was invaluable and very much appreciated. I would, without hesitation, highly recommend Knight Frank in Henley.

Our experience with the team has been that they are responsive, proactive in helping the transaction to go through efficiently and friendly at the same time.
