It took a long time to sell my mother’s house but this was not due to the staff at Burchell Edwards who worked very hard to promote the sale. Communications were excellent. Luisa was particularly good at contacting me with updates. She was very patient at stressful times.

Really pleased with the service I received. The staff were pleasant and helpful and professional throughout. I was looking for a mortgage but wasn’t expecting to be able to buy much as I didn’t have the best credit rating. After speaking with Craig I was surprised when he assured me this fact was not that great an obstacle and I’m now residing in a property that I had previously considered to be well out of my price range. The help I received was first class during the process and made the whole process much simpler that I previously expected as I was a first time buyer. Thanks all.

Great service. Went to Craig for mortgage advice, and we cannot recommend him enough. As first time buyers we went for a consultation, we were quite hesitant beforehand but after speaking to Craig, we were put at ease. He was very knowledgeable and put in a lot of time and effort to help us. Had few issues in the process (none from Burchel Edwards) but we were able to sort these out quickly thanks to our mortgage advisor. Absolutely superb.

Absolutely awful. Offer accepted in February and not only are we nowhere near moving the whole sale is now at risk of falling through because of the solicitors Burchell Edwards themselves actively recommend. Ripley branch don’t want to know and have offered zero help. The solicitors they recommend have known about this single issue stopping us from completing for 3 MONTHS (I have evidence). All smiles and helpfulness when you’re looking at buying their properties but as soon as your offers accepted you get passed on and forgotten about, it seems as though they think their job is done! It’s been that bad when we look at future houses (which we’ll have to do as ours is now falling through) I wouldn’t even look at a house up for sale with Burchell! Disgusting.

I went into Burchell and Edwards with absolutely no clue on mortgages. Craig (mortgage adviser) was absolutely brilliant, went through the whole process from start to finish.
He kept us updated through everything and even stayed past office times and do applications with us. He was on the other end of the phone if we did need him also.

Burchell Edwards Ripley team deserve 5 stars! Overall Service -EXCELLENT..... Craig (mortgage advisor) was excellent with my remortgage from start to end, he went over and above to make sure my application was correct, by getting in the office hours before opening. He made sure to keep me updated at every stage of the process, even helped me with things I had no clue about and was on the phone when I needed him. I would 100% recommend him for all your mortgage needs! 5/5! Legend....
The lettings team were also fantastic, give you the time, listen to your needs, help in every way they can with any letting advice. Again I would recommend them for your lettings needs. The whole team get 5/5 from me!

This is a message to tenant's. Please go elsewhere, find a different house.
If MOLLY has done your viewing run a mile. She lies, says things are included in the tenency that aren’t then denies it once you are in the house.
ALEXANDRA - Uses annual leave for her excuse to not replying constantly. To my record she was off 3 weeks in November and 2 weeks in December. She lies, she gaslights, she has no intention of responding to you. She ignores complaints, enquiries and request to escalate above her. She does not respond to senior staff at Connells or Burchell Edwards. And has even suggested to me that there is no management above her to complain to as she is the letting manager. This is after telling me she had requested the area management gets in touch with me…….three months later and after more request to escalate my complaint Adam gets in touch. Clueless of the situation.
ADAM CLIFF - Area Manager constantly searching for excuses for his staff’s mismanagement and lies. Seems to spend his time trying to de value and dismiss my complaints rather than resolving them.
He told me Molly and Alexandra denied telling me certain things were included. And that it was my word against theirs. Sent him emails as proof which he has ignored. And continues his argumentative and dismissive style of communication daily. This could have been solved months ago but Burchell Edwards culture seems to be a manipulation and delay response approach. This is nurtured from middle management down to apprentice.
Landlords please give your tenants a chance and stay away from this company. Tenants have little choice what letting agent they end up with. Also it would seem that we are in a managed property that has been completely mismanaged by Burchell Edwards and they are passing the responsibility on to the landlord costing her a fortune.
PLEASE GIVE THIS COMPANY A MISS
If you do end up going with them my advice would be to communicate only in writing so there is a paper trail. Don’t ask questions on the viewing ask them via email afterwards so you have answers in writing.
Unfortunately our situation is still not resolved, and our next step is the media and environmental health.

One of the worst estate agents for landlords. Stay away from Alexandra Summerscale (Manager) so unprofessional and rude.
Also Absolutely Shocking company who done EICR report .
We gave the our house to estate to rent out. Which needed EICR report so Burchell Edwards (Mansfield) who Hired electrician (B&P Electrical Installation Ltd) through Vibrant energy who quoted £1100 for the repair to pass the EICR.
Then found out Electrician only quoted £649 for repair but Burchell Edward and Vibrant Energy added their commission
more than 60%.
But the fun fact was that the property didn't require much repair at all. The New EICR and repair was done only for £120.

I'm getting alot of very substandard service from alot of Service Provider's lately, post Covid it seems to be that Consumer's just expect unacceptable levels of Customer Service, fortunately my experience of dealing with Alexandra & Molly was the mirror opposite, Alexandra wasn't constraint by process and worked toward a perfect match between both her Landlord, and Tenant. We've now been able to transition to a Cottage in Belper that surpasses our expectations, and not had to have to re-home our beloved cats, as it happens, the only solution that was offered to us, and a welcoming bottle of Prosecco waiting for us on the mantlepiece on arrival. Unlike some other Customer experiences of late, I never once had to chase Alexandra, in fact she'd often left a comprehensive voicemail, which I seldom reviewed before calling her back. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alexandra, Molly or Burchell Edwards, and you get a "Welcome Pack", only short-coming is the bottle of Peroni is 0% alcohol, we did move in on a "School-night" though!

Unacceptable. Not only did the landlord refuse to reimburse for £100 spent tidying up the unkempt garden on moving in, but they deducted a further £100 from deposit return on moving out to "tidy up" a garden that was in a far better state than when taking on the property. This after 6 months waiting. Burchell Edwards were agents and useless. Scammers. Avoid.

Rented through this agent for a little over a year. Moved in and the property was fine internally (wear and tear in some places but we didn’t mind). Moved in…the overgrown garden that they assured us would be cleared of mess, was never actually cleared so we funded this and moved it off our own backs. Broken fence panel to the rear also fixed by us without any thanks. Replies to emails? You’d get a response quicker writing a letter to a dead relative. I’ve waited 4/5 weeks before at a time. Upon our 12 month inspection the lady who attended was appalled at the lack of working smoke alarms…something we’d mentioned already. Fast forward to us ending our tenancy. We had a professional clean done as you’d expect from good paying tenants. Our last day at the property was 26th February. Today, 28th March they have finally agreed to give ur our deposit back after attempting to claim just under £300 from us for a professional clean. The inventory they did on check in was actually WORSE than the one they did when they checked us out.
It was only upon supplying physical video evidence and photographs of all the stains that they claimed we had mad and a final email from us that they agreed to pay. Nicola in particular who had communicated with us over the last few weeks regarding the deposit is so unbelievably unprofessional. No apology, and as above, replies usually after about 5 weeks. The only decent staff member I think I communicated with was Holly who understandably left and now works for another local estate agent who have a far better reputation and who aren’t actually just outright rude. I work in property and deal with agents up and down the country and never have I come across any I would rate this badly. Even purplebricks aren’t this bad. If letting through them is this much hassle I cannot imagine buying through them (thank god we didn’t). Will use the returned deposit that we rightly deserve back on paying for some customer services courses for them I think.
The cherry on top was asking for a formal complaint to be raised through Nicola and requesting she escalate our case which to date, still hasn’t been done. Thanks Nicola, wonderful service!

I left two voices message in the space of two days and then on the third day sent an email via Rightmove to enquire about a property they had for sale. After not hearing from them for over a week, I rang again and this time someone did answer advised me the property had now been sold. This agency should at least have the decency to call a customer to inform them.
I wouldn't feel confident selling or purchasing a property through them knowing what service they give

What can I say? The Lettings team (Riannah & Alex) at Burchall Edwards in Ripley are fabulous! Professional, courteous and exceptionally efficient! From the moment the phone was answered (I called fives agents; some didn’t pick up or return calls or respond within an acceptable time frame.) to the moment they found a great tenant, I received nothing but excellent service! Nothing was too much trouble for these super ladies! I would have no hesitation in using Burchall Edwards again and highly recommend this company to any current or would be landlord.
Oh and the addition of the fish tank adds a warm and homely feel to the office!

We dealt with Burchell Edwards Ripley for a good few months and I've never been so impressed with a service! Evie was absolutely amazing with me and my partner and our new build house, she helped us out step by step and answered any questions that we had with being new buyers, she was always at the end of the phone when we needed her and I can't fault her enough! also the team at the branch where great too if there was anything Evie couldn't deal with herself! Really really happy would definitely go through Burchell Edwards again after such a lovely service :) Thank you Evie & the Ripley branch you guys are amazing! :)

All the staff at the office were very helpful, especially James and Alex, who went out of their way to make the sale of our property possible.
After the initial sale they still kept in touch and helped all the way to the final completion.

I have just sold my house with Burchell Edwards Ripley and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. They initially valued my house at a little higher than I was expecting and I was a little nervous about trying it at the higher price but James gave me the confidence to trust him and go for it. Within one weekend I had got 7viewings booked in! 6 days after we went ‘for sale’ we accepted an offer very close to our asking price! So pleased with the service the team have provided me; I will be recommending them to all my friends and wouldn’t hesitate to use the Ripley team again in future.

I would most definitely recommend Burchell Edwards at the Ripley branch. The branch manager James and his colleagues went out there way to deliver excellent customer service with the sale of my property which was a difficult time. There was one problem after another but they persisted along with there recommended solicitors and I couldn't of done it without them. Yes there fee's maybe on the pricey side but as they say you get what you pay for and in this instance I most certainly did. Thank you!!

Complete liers and very inderhanded, refused to help us with our purchase unless we used there services. Already had a mortgage offer and deposit but threw it back in our faces, would have lost the sale if not for the vendor and solicitor ! Many laws have been broken and even verbaly abusive to my wife. Avoid there services and avoid any contact if you can. Deal with seller as they will lie to your face . Even refused to allow a mortgage survey unless we gave them all our private financial details. YOU DO NOT NEED 3 months wage slips, bank statements and employers details along with a mortgage offer JUST TO MAKE A OFFER ! Theres so much more to say but not enough words ????????????

Total rip off commission fees for less than a one star service. It took 3 months to get my first viewing. They will make promises they can't keep and have useless customer service. Use Purple Bricks and save yourself thousands. If I could leave no stars I would.
