My partner and I wanted to view a property, we have a mortgage in principle. Which I’m sure everyone can understand is a long task in itself. We were told we had to do an affordability check prior to viewing for the protection of the seller. It is not an estate agents job to check if my partner and I can afford a property, that’s the mortgage broker and banks job. It’s a conflict of interest them knowing our finances. They’re legally obligated to make a seller aware of an offer but if they only let certain people make offers based on their own algorithm of affordability then previous reviews saying that their house received only one viewing in 3 weeks isn’t a surprise. They’re the only estate agent out of 15 I arranged viewings with to ask such a thing. Very disappointing as we loved the house and had a mortgage in principle for more than the asking price and were willing to offer more to secure a sale.

Having dealt with various estate agents over the years I felt it only correct to leave a review after my most recent experience. The team at Connells Horley clearly demonstrated the difference between those cheap agencies that employ under experienced "negotiators" and a real and established company that employ experienced industry professionals
that really understand how to keep a chain together.. this has never been as important as in these unprecedented and uncertain times. I would highly recommend Mr Wiggins and his team if you are serious about both selling and completing without any undue hassle. Its easy to buy cheap but you'll inevitably buy twice.
