Undertook a valuation on my jointly owned home (currently in posession of my ex), the agent gave a very low estimate (£60,000 less than it had been valued at 11 months before) and when I called the office to ask for justification of this low figure, I was advised by the agent who did the viewing, that the property was filthy dirty, smelled and was unkempt, that no attempt had been made by my ex to present the property in a fair manner in order to warrant a fairer valuation figure, that nearly every room in the house had damage to walls / flooring and that there were various wires hanging from one of the ceilings which had structural damage, and that it was in a very poor condition overall. She even raised concerns as it was obvious that there were children residing there. The agent told me that she was unaware of my being a joint owner, and when I asked her for the valuation report with her reasons justifying the estimate to be sent by email directly to me, she did indeed send the estimate but did not send the reasons for it despite listing them to me verbally over the phone and when I emailed back and specifically requested this information, not only for safeguarding reasons but also for transparency with the ongoing court proceedings (divorce) she ignored me and has failed to follow up. (It's now been nearly 2 months).
Completely unprofessional and unhelpful. Would not recommend.
Haart in Derby however, proved to be very helpful, courteous, understanding and transparent when I contacted them. In fact they went above and beyond what i expected to ensure i had every bit of information needed. (They'd also undertaken a valuation on the property for my ex at the same time as B.E).The level of customer service recieved between the two was night and day.

We switched to Burchell Edwards after the contract ran out with our original agent. We were sceptical and despondent, as we had been promised the earth by the first agent and they failed to deliver.
However, from our first meeting with Megan we knew we were in safe hands. The Belper team arranged lots of viewings, communicated with us regularly, and managed to get us an offer in under 3 weeks from being listed. They handled the negotiations beautifully for us. I cannot speak highly enough of this team and how they have managed this sale. We were continually met with kindness and professionalism from every member of the team.

Highly recommend the team at Burchell Edwards when buying our first home. For a first time buyer with no idea about mortgages Craig was excellent and went beyond what we expected. When our mortgage offers fell through (Twice!!) he was instantly on trying to find us better deals despite the issues being pretty complicated. In the end he took almost £600 off our mortgage payments. Megan and the team are great for managing the sale and regularly checking in with us. Overall would definitely recommend to anyone going through their first house purchase

Could not rate the Belper team high enough. Alex was fantastic in giving us prompt and honest explanations on each house we viewed and helped us with a wide range of properties in the area. Megan was unbelievably helpful throughout. Going above and beyond from answering any questions I had to keeping the sales on track and “fighting fires” on my behalf when the solicitors were at odds with each other. I honestly questioned at one point why I was paying them and not her! Couldn’t thank them all enough for the service they provided.

The agent promised a lot to begin with. They were more expensive than the other 2 agents we met with. The buyer came along the same day we put up the sign but nothing to do with the agents marketing. It turned out that their good friends lived very close and unbeknownst to us they had been watching us refurbish the house for sale for some time.
The agent told us it was a cash sale but in fact it was a chain that took six months to complete. We were very disappointed. We felt lied to and misled. In the end we told them that if the sale didn’t close before the last day of the tax year we were pulling out.
It closed the day before the tax year end barely.
The agent let the new owner erect a shed on the property before the sale closed and also let them cut down all the shrubs in the front garden before the close of the property sale. We were flabbergasted by all this and would therefor not

Difficult time to be selling under Covid restrictions but I feel I was wrongly advised to use Modern Auction to sell my house. As the estate agent receives a higher commission from the sale I thought they would work harder for their payoff. However after 2 months there was no interest in the house. I initiated the majority of the communication and felt unsupported and uninformed.
I switched agents and sold with the new agent on the same day I listed. Never even made it back onto Rightmove as it sold so quick and at the price I wanted.

We have just used Lee Peck to arrange our mortgage and his help and support has been excellent. He explained our options to us clearly so we were able to make an informed decision about which was the best option for us to take. I’ve worked close with Mr Lee Peck for years now and have had no need to use anyone else. Great guy and personality, whilst also very humble.
I’ve only had positive feed back from people I’ve pasted on to Lee. Which has been crazy when they want to treat me, for the work Lee has done lol.
I require knowledge, efficiency, solutions, and to be organised. I have all of that, so thank you Lee and thank you for creating successful business for myself and my surroundings, forever appreciated. I use to get real concerned in Lee’s absence, but the team are of great help and knowledge.

We needed a mortgage to buy our new house and also a re mortgage on a buy to let property in order to release funds for deposit and renovations on our new house. We used Lee Peck for all our mortgage needs. He spent a lot of time with us talking through our options and was great in explaining everything. He kept us posted through out the whole process and sorted out any issues with lenders queries quickly. We bought a house through Burchell Edwards and found our experience very mixed. We were lied to and misled repeatedly, going through 6 months of never knowing where we stood and what was actually true. Towards the end they actually helped us wrap up the sale of the property when no one else seemed to be moving forwards. So that I am grateful for. However I fear for first time buyers who have no prior experience. We got ourselves a mortgage advisor who told us what was true and what wasn't, and stopped us from doing a lot of stupid things which would have cost us a lot of money. Burchell seem to just want to string you up and watch you choke.

Vastly overprice properties. We were looking to sell a property we estimated to be around £125000. We had 2 other agents who valued it at £120000 which we thought were fair and realistic valuations. Burchell edwards valued the same property at £170000. The other agents wanted around 0.75% + vat to sell. Burchell edwards wanted £2000 + vat. We will not be using burchell edwards
