I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I received from your Coventry branch regarding the sale of my property. Initially, your team was very keen and enthusiastic to have my house listed for sale, which gave me confidence in choosing Connells as my estate agent. Unfortunately, as the process moved forward, that level of service and professionalism significantly declined.
Despite numerous calls and emails on my part, I received little to no follow-up from your team. Even when I reached out for updates or feedback, there was a complete lack of communication. My solicitors also faced the same issue, struggling to get in touch with your office, which caused unnecessary delays and frustration. It became clear that there was no urgency or commitment to delivering the level of service I was expecting.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with how the sale of my property was handled, and I regret entrusting Connells with this important transaction. Given the poor communication and lack of responsiveness, I would not recommend Connells Estate Agents to anyone seeking professional and reliable service. It’s disheartening to have such a negative experience with a company that initially promised much but delivered so little.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and work towards improving your service for future clients, so they don’t experience the same frustration I have.

Very poor experience with this branch, got in touch numerous times about a property, ignored my emails / requests and when I did get a call back with the promise that someone will follow up with details of the property and viewing times, that never came through.
Makes you think how think how much buyers and sellers are loosing out by using this particular estate agent and with so many bad reviews (3.4 overall stars) it might be wise to use someone else (the choice is plentiful).

Leaving a 2 star review because I believe the lack of communication from this branch has been a huge issue with their lettings department after moving into a rented flat. Emails get ignored, and phone calls get a "we'll get back to you", which never happens.

One of the best estate agencies in Coventry. I highly recommend it. There's one staff member there called Georgia, she's so humble, respectful and gentle. She will do everything to explain details what the property entails and has time for potential tenants. She replies emails, calls and text messages, swiftly. Anyone who walks into Connells in Coventry should ask for Georgia. Connells is the best.

I can’t lie they seem convincing at the start. However they are worst than phone calls scammers. Me and my family got £300 pound scammed because of no valid reason, they just said whe had a technical issue and we will contact you later. They will assure you that the house has only bean applied by you and will lure you to believe that you are guaranteed to get it; And at the end they will just turn their back at you. The manager is a female and has blond hair by the way, and she is described as mean which is actually true. Pleas do check the reviews of this company before you deal with them. Be safe out there.

totally unserious ..dirty work ..they say that the house is sold ..the next day it is not sold anymore....I visited the house everything is good ..(one day off from work) ..I made the offer no one answered until I didn't call and they said it was already sold..- the next day they called me saying it wasn't sold and that I had to raise the offer.. I did it and then they told me that the house is not a standard construction after I raised the offer... it would be could put in the descriptions that the house is not a standard construction ..very bad work and slow ..disappointed .!!!

Came here for a "house finder service", was a little unsure at first as my family have a broker they use already but with help from Ben and Taran I was able to beat the rates provided and even managed to find my ideal home under 200K. Within the first 2 weeks had a AIP/DIP and a few weekends later, I happily moved into my new little abode!

They acted as local agents for a Coventry property we purchased from an online auction company down south and to be frank- they couldn’t care less. Made promises about getting items removed from property and also getting a broken shower fixed but never did either! Extremely non friendly service and couldn’t be bothered in the slightest - making false promises and then doing nothing about them at all- terrible service and I will be ensuring all my friends etc know not to use them- avoid at all costs!!!

Terrible experience. Called to get a viewing and gave my availability and was told they would get back to me. Three days go by and nothing so I call again and I get the same, they'll get back to me. Three days later they call and after explaining to them repeatedly my availability I get a viewing the next day. I go to the viewing, meet the estate agent outside and go to the door only for the home owner to open the door confused and tell us the house was sold that morning.
Blessing in disguise really cause it seems like an absolute shambles.

No Integrity, customer satisfaction is poor, and all they care about is getting paid.
Had an issue with the names on my tenancy agreement and I sent the correct names for them to do the changes, which they did and it result was the wrong details again for myself and my partner. I was promised to be issued a letter that will override the Lettings agreement, but because I’ve moved and they've been paid, they started taking me for granted. I mentioned to them that I need this document for something in which my name and my wife's name must be arranged appropriately and it's just urgent. One of their staff started putting the blames on me. I let these guys aware this document is urgent and I was told I will get it the following working day, now it's more than 5working days. Chaii

Olivia Prota is the most unprofessional agent I’ve ever come across. Other google reviewers seem to agree with similar comments about her aggressive and arrogant behaviour. Avoids phone calls when in the office and emails after 2+ months of waiting for a response. Avoid her like the plague unless you want to deal with her mean girl attitude. It’s an estate agency not a high school. Be more professional and do your job.

Wanted to view and buy a property with them, won't be doing that. Had a viewing scheduled, waited for 35mins outside of the property, no one showed up. Despite calling 10mins after the estate agent should have arrived, I was reassured that the agent left 15mins ago and could be traffic. The property was exactly 15mins away, and Google maps wasn't showing any traffic. Either way, waited another 25mins and still no show. After calling the agency again, they didn't say to hold the line and they'd find out where the agent is, they just said sorry and they'll look into why this has happened, and will contact me to rearrange. A week later, still no communication. No wonder the property has been on the market for months, if the agents are not making any effort to sell it. I'm selling 2 properties currently in Coventry, and there are certainly far better estate agents in the area.

We just found new tenants for out flat in Coventry. From the day of instruction to the tenant moving in, they have been amazing. We had several applicants who, thanks to their rigorous vetting, were deemed unsuitable, but they were tenacious in their aim to find us a great tenant with brilliant references. Faiz, in particular,is a credit to the lettings team. He is very professional and kept us informed every step of the way. He was easy to deal with and we felt that he truly had our best interests at heart throughout the whole process. Nothing was too much trouble. He is absolutely brilliant. Would highly recommend. :-)

My experience qith them is terrible. At the beginning untill you sign the contract they will keep contacting you. Once you sign you need to chase them up for everything.
First, I took over the house was not clean and qe had to clean it for a day. Then the previous tenant left the bins full so I put them for collection, however the council did not take the recycle bin because it was full of organic stuffs; food and othere stuffs. I contacted them to arrange for collection. They did not respond. Inwent to their office, the agent called the landlord and told me they will arrange collection and nothing happened. After more than a month I had to do it myself.
The electricity shut down at the house qhile I was away for work, I called them as my family were there and they said they will contact the landlord to send someone. Guess what? The left my family 3 days in the darkness and I was calling them everyday untill they finally sent someone to sort it out.
I had a problem with the boiler, they sent someone to see what's going on and once they new it was not something serious they sent maintenance after a week. Then I called them again for the same problem 5 weeks before I leave the property and not a surprise I left the property before anyone to come and fix it.
When I was renting my current place, I had to call them everyday chasing them up to respond to the reference, they replied after a week.
Finally, I left the property a month ago, and I've been contacting them to release the deposit and everyday I call they say we will contact the landlord forst to see if he is happy to release the deposit and they said "there is no a legal time frame to release the deposit "
So I'm not recommending this agency by any means.

Yesterday I got a phone call from the lettings agent. He told me that he would email me over the details to a FaceTime call. I waited a further 20 hours and received nothing. Not a single word.
Not a professional email giving me ongoing details.
I was told after ringing them up that this morning someone put in a offer that the landlord accepted.
But I was going to place a offer last night in the FaceTime viewing?
Olivia the lettings manager took and aggressive tone. She’s very sarcastic and rude. She shouldn’t be working in a people based job as she is very arrogant. She interrupted me several times.
I even had to ask her to stop interrupting me. I was there to make a complaint not to be spoken down to.
Nobody in that office knows what another person is doing. They lack communication skills within their team and with customers.
My mother had previously spoken to the lettings manager olivia before and the moment she spoke to them and mentioned her universal credits (me and another earn occupant £110,000 annually through self employment)
They shut her down. So this is a secondary complaint as there’s obviously some large amounts of discrimination at play.
We will be contacting trading standards regarding this and we will be pushing for them to issue a fine regarding the illegal discrimination this company is legislating.

I recently bought a house through Connells, and overall it was a poor experience. Connells was uncommunicative, couldn't (or wouldn't) answer our questions in a timely manner (or sometimes at all), and the entire process took an exceptionally long time compared with the estimates that they constantly revised over and over again.
As a first time buyer, there were many things about the process I was unsure of, and the staff at Connells seemed to resent my asking questions, and at times clearly just wanted me out of the door so they didn't have to deal with me.
Additionally, I used Connells' services as a mortgage broker, for which they charged me the privilege. I'm now (after the fact) given to understand that the broker fees are not traditionally paid for by the buyers, but by the other parties involved, so I'm very unhappy about this too.
On the recommendation of Connells, I used their property lawyers for my purchase, Premier Property Lawyers Ltd. and if anything they were worse. Imagine all of the above, except worse, and you'll have an inkling as to what dealing with them was like. Impossible to contact, rarely if ever got in contact with us first, and outright ignored the questions we had. Having looked up their reviews, I can only come to the conclusion that the reason they are still in business is that Connells recommends them, as I can't imagine anyone wanting to use them having done so myself.
Finally, after moving into my new property, I received today the details of the home insurance policy that Connells setup for me without any communications that they were doing so. What makes this even worse is that I had specifically asked them NOT to do this, as I was assured by their one competent staff member that I could get a better deal myself. (for those curious, the policy they took out for me covers less, has a higher excess and costs approx 150% of what I found for myself) I'm now on the hook for getting this cancelled before they try to charge me for a policy that I don't want.
If you have a choice, go elsewhere for your property needs, because Connells will jerk you around and try to make you feel stupid the whole time they're doing it.

They rarely respond to emails and when they do it's usually weeks or months after you initially sent them. They take ages to complete repairs, even urgent ones. They hold the deposit for long periods, over a month I am waiting still. They don't communicate with their own staff properly never mind their tenants. They list houses for rent using the same pictures each time they list it. They send emails out wrong and make calls to tenants about other tenants at an entirely different property, breaching GDPR laws. They need to be reported to the ombudsman and even the ASA. I would not opt to rent with Connells again and I'll make sure everyone I know doesn't either.

I am not going to mention all the details about how unprofessional this company can be, but I really don't recommend letting through them if you want to have your deposit back any time soon. We have been waiting for a reply in regards to our deposit for more than a month now. We always paid our rent on time, so I do not understand why do we have no information about OUR DEPOSIT. Fed up of constantly emailing them to get an update to get NO ANSWER or oh you should email my colleague blabla....... Honestly even if I will find the best flat ever I would not rent it if it was with them!

I put in an offer for a house that was on with Connells (coventry city centre branch). Did not hear back from them for over a week so chased up and was told all offers were passed on to a solicitor? and they would have a clearer idea of which offer was accepted later on it the week. Waited but connells failed to contact me so I chased up again and called them again only to be told the house had been sold and my offer was rejected. At no time was I told my offer had been rejected or was offered the opportunity to revise my offer, I was told by someone at the local branch everyone was told to submit their best and final offer but I was not given that chance. I find it odd that they didn't come back to me to see if I wanted to improve my offer and this has put me off ever wanting to do business with them in the future. My personal experience with them was one of unprofessionalism and poor customer service.

I've had 2 experiences with Connell's and both were bad.
First time we went to a house viewing, waiting outside for several minutes and a lady walks past knocks on the door and gets let in. She asked if we were here for a viewing too. Turned out she was a late viewing who was meant to be there before us. The estate agent was upstairs in the flat already. When being viewed around we were asking questions, didn't know anything about the area or just shrugged her shoulders awkwardly.
2nd time I had encountered with Connell's. I was interested in another one of their properties. Emailed through Zoopla, didn't get an answer so I rang them up. Danielle, the lettings manager, helped me find the property I was asking about. Had a couple of emails returned etc, then I had no answer about when the viewing would be for 5 days until I emailed her again and managed to get a viewing sorted. Then, I had no email confirmation of the viewing. So I didn't know the number of the house etc. Emailed on the day at 10am, still no response few hours before the viewing so I rang them up again. Managed to get the address of them. I turned up 5 mins late as I had to end up bringing my 5 month old baby with me, took him out the car, having to wake him up from his nap. Got to the door, knocked on it several times, and guess what. NO ANSWER.
Never ever having any more communication with Connell's ever again. Worst estate agents I have dealt with while trying to find a house.

I nearly used Connells to sell my home but opted against it as despite Ruth being brilliant I was put off by reviews so went elsewhere. I'm so glad I did as I have called three times to call to view one of their properties and haven't received a call back. On the third attempt the gentleman was obnoxious and rude and advised that they would not be arranging viewings as they are relaunching the property after Xmas, when I asked why nobody bothered to call me back to tell me that he was incredibly condescending so I left it. I would be gutted if they were treating potential buyers of my property in this way and even putting potential buyers off to wait for a re-launch seems ridiculous to me.

I had a viewing of 50 Warden Road, Coventry at 10:45-1100 hrs slot on 19/04/19 with Mr Surinder from Connells Coventry. Because of the traffic we reached late by 5mins. We informed the Connells office explaining the reason for the delay. As soon we reached for the viewing at 1050 hrs, Mr Surinder refused us to even enter the house. He was so rude and disrespectful. We have dealt with so many Estate agents in past but have never experienced this bad behaviour. After this incidence, we will never book Connells for house viewings again. And I would advice same to everyone else as well.

i have found connells dishonest on multiple occasions. one of the ladies working there has no clue about how corporate sales work so always tells you something is sold when ot actually isn't and you are allowed to see the property. ive enquired about many different properties over the past year and felt compelled to write this review- they simple dont care about potential buyers- they have actively tried to put me off some properties by delaying tactics and im not sure what their motivation was behind it. unprofessional and lacking in common courtesy, i would never trust them to sell a property and would prefer to never have to deal with them again.

I had no problems with Connells. The report on the property was very detailed, and paperwork was done online which makes life easier. Was a little disappointed when asked by agents to have new tenants come to vist. They didn't inform me that they had made a block viewing over 2 hours. The agent was an hour late.
The main issue I have, is that 2 months after the end of the tenancy, I have still not received my deposit back. The landlord has no problem with the house after we moved out, so no reason I shouldn't get my deposit back.
They do not reply to emails...... Ever.
So now I'm going to have to go through the dispute process....

i am having a very good experience with the letting service of connells especially Becky. the appointment for visit was well scheduled.my wife and i had a very friendly visit.everything about the fees and the process was well explained and clear. the following week we started the process. at the moment we are took very carefully. all the inquiries and the requests.we did place so far was professionally handled. thanks Becky !

Matthew Walters and his commercial sales team have been absolutely superb in helping us sell our business. Nothing was too much trouble and they professionally guided us every step of the way when things became awkward with our buyer. Awful experience (Coventry Uni student):
Lack of communication from Connells with the landlord and vice-versa.
Between them, they were suppose to be arranging an AST agreement for our group (we had already paid the holding fee to take the property off the market in May). We started to get worried as it was taking more time than it should have.
The agent who dealt with us and found us the house left the company about 2 weeks after we had paid the holding fee. There was no contact with us informing us he had left or no automated email replies so we were under the impression that he still worked for the company.
Having sent countless emails and calling their offices on numerous occasions we were eventually ignored or passed on to the next person every time. We were then contacted on Saturday 12th of August at 2pm from a brand new member of staff who had been given the task of informing us less than month before we were due to move in that the landlord had found 'other tenants'. Even though we had paid £600 between us to take the house off the market and the landlord had paid Connells to find tenants for the house (confirmed they were us with the landlord himself once we had paid the £600).
Both parties blamed each other and we were left with no house for uni.
DO NOT USE, COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND LACK OF RESPECT.

Over 3 days spoke to 3 different staff members and got 3 different stories to confuse the situation. How are you supposed to trust Connells with something as massive as buying a house when they can barely function in an honest and mature manner?! Very poor, shabby set up.

AVOID! I would advise anyone wanting to buy or sell a property in Coventry to avoid using Connells at all costs. Within 1 week I dealt with 3 agents and finally the manager, all of whom it appears were in competition to see who could win the award for most incompetent.
All I wanted to do was buy a house from them, for the asking price - but it turned out that that was an unreasonable expectation on my part.
They failed to call me back every single time I asked a question regarding the property itself or the sale that had been agreed by both Connells and the vendors. None of the 3 agents that I dealt with were able to give me a clear, straight answer on anything including why they were unable to send the memorandum of sale by email.
Following complaints to the manager, who responded with a "I will speak to my agents" bog standard clearly pointless answer, I had no communication from any of the agents until they phoned to tell me that the vendors had changed their minds about the date that they were willing to move. Having already spent hours trying to get answers to calls or emails to Connells I decided it was better for me to lose the sale than have to deal with their total incompetence for one minute longer. I have never dealt with such a bunch of morons in my years of dealing with estate agents, how this branch is still open is beyond me. I could almost understand if I was being awkward or putting in a ridiculously low offer on a property - but for anyone willing to buy a property in Coventry, with close to or even the asking price, I would strongly advise you to pick one that isn't marketed by Connells.

I registered my details the other month to let me know of suitable properties in my price range only for them not to let me know of one so I just rang up and they said they have had 3 offers on the property so will not be making any more viewings. Terrible service why waste mine and your time taking my details if you are not even going to do the job you said you would. Also I thought you are suppose to be getting best money for the owner when there are clearly more people interested in the properties but refuse to show people around. I wouldn't be happy selling my properties through your agency.

I have complained several times along with neighbours on the other side of the students next door who let by connells. At first they were very helpful with failing to agree with tenancy letters that were sent out. They did quieiten down for about 2weeks but carried on. The same girls staying around 4 times a week, constant shouting, screaming and loud music. When we phoned connells they told us the landlord is not doing anything as their rent is being paid, when we asked to pass a message on to their landlord the reply was "im not going to do that". I am till this day still having problems, this has been going on for months. This has to be the worst company i have come across that deal with complaints, very unprofessional. One man in particular is extremely rude. After those few letters given we got told there is nothing they can do. Appalling.

I have given 1 star only because it is not possible to give anything less!
There are a great many Estate Agents in Coventry and many of them are extremely unprofessional but, over the last 12 months of buying property in Coventry, Connells beats the rest hands down for failing to meet clients on a viewing, neglecting to tell a vendor that they have made an appointment to view, suggesting that there would be no point attending an "open house" because they are expecting 40 people to view "but you can pop your head in, anyway!", not returning phone calls ... I could go on.
They would certainly get my award for "WORST ESTATE AGENT IN COVENTRY" - avoid at all costs!!

Its seems that the service really does depend who you deal with here. Went on Saturday to make an offer on a house just visited where i felt like the person who was dealing with us just did not want to help, seemed really awkward, promised to send me and email with required info and never actually bothered...even after i called to remind her! THEN went again today and spoke to one of the mortgage advisors who was absolutley great, very knowledgeable and gave good advise - baring in mind this is my first property so wasnt too clued up about the market so anyone with a lot of experience who has certain expectations may have a different point of view...

Clueless about Lettings and seldom return calls. They manage my partners property, when the tenancy experienced difficulties, we would have expected the agent to be aware of basic legalities and to offer us correct advice. Additionally they only return calls and responded to emails after repeated requests. We have received excellent service from a local independent who possesses the legal knowledge and already treating us as a client rather than a number and for a highly competitive rate. Our advice; opt for a local independent who genuinely appreciates your business. This connells branch are clearly under resourced and more importantly, unqualified to manage properties. They act like a supermarket as opposed to a professional estate agent. The lettings manager claimed he was legally trained yet we discovered from the other agent that his advice was incorrect. Even the tenant has experienced the same issues with them. My partner is now transferring her business. Will never deal with this agent again. We have recently researched numerous local agents and finally sourced one whom we trust and can deal with the owners direct. They say you get what you pay for; well not in this instant.

The worst letting agency i have ever seen. since 2 weeks ago i booked a viewing for a house and the house was good so i paid the deposit and the application fees and after 2 or days i called them cuz they told me that they will gonna send the contract via e-mail, they told that the house has been taken we are so sorry and we will do a full refund with 2 to 3 days, and till now i did not receive any thing from them and they keep saying the bank transfer takes time to refund, so my advise if u saw any property on any website and i saw connells is the agency avoid it.

Incompetent and they don't respond. I was an investor and called them to arrange viewings for 3 properties. After multiple request to call me back, they never returned.Please avoid them at any cost. They are a waste of your time and energy

If putting a property up for sale or buying look around. I jumped at the first estate agent I spoke to which was Connells and even after the sale has gone through 6 months later I am still having to deal with issues regarding the property due to a lack of communication and sheer incompetence.
