The staff who were showing potential buyers were decent however it is very hard to get hold of members of staff in the shop for any queries. The move manager is a lovely lady but the lady who seems to be senior is very rude and doesn't want to help. All in all would I recommend Darlows the answer is no.

I recently sold my property through a more reputable agent. Since my house has been on the market and sold I have been bombarded with unwanted phone calls from Darlows. I’ve asked on three of these occasions to remove me from their call list and have been told they would do this, yet I continue to get calls. I’ve asked how they obtained my mobile phone number and was told I mist have supplied it on their website. I’ve never been on their website. I have reported the GDPR breaches. I would not recommend this business as they clearly throw personal information around and can’t perform simple tasks. Very poor.

We are looking to sell a house in Treforest, Pontypridd, South Wales and asked Darlows to value it for us. My wife and I were very impressed with the professionalism of Gayle who came to value the property. She contacted us via text the day before to remind us of our appointment and then phoned an hour or so before to check it was still okay for her to come. She was friendly and explained what would happen next. She took photos and said that she would get everything ready if we wanted to precede with the sale via the company.
We had another estate agent booked so we thought we should get their opinion first. However they didn't turn up and every time we phoned all we got was an answerphone message. So we cancelled them and went with Darlows, although to be honest we felt so well looked after we would have probably gone with them anyway.

The team at Darlows in Pontypridd have been excellent throughout the selling (and buying) process. They've always been available to advise and kept us well informed throughout.
They've tolerated a number of my rants and later my constant calls for reassurance as we waited for exchange.
Didn't think I'd say this but they certainly earned their fees! Jackie in particular has the patience of a saint and was our go-to individual throughout the process (just under a year).
The whole team was always up-front and honest and didn't resort to BS. Jackie's advice was always shrewd and spot-on particularly as the completion date closed.
I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone selling, buying or both.
The whole selling and buying process is an absolute nightmare. Having the Darlows team behind us made it bearable.

Gayle was so helpful and was more than willing to do a video call so I could view the house .When I wasn't able to view in person.She submitted my offer promptly and all communication has been excellent. Charlotte answered my query email instantly with a call back which was refreshing. It was nice to actually talk to someone rather than just receive an electronic response. I have dealt with Christine from Darlows buying my first house,and her service has been nothing short of excellent.
Christine was not pushy or aggressive when selling the property; she just allowed me to walk around and answered any questions I had in detail. After my offer was accepted, she communicated with me regularly to keep me posted on what stage in the process the purchase was in.
I would highly recommend dealing with Christine and Darlows when purchasing your house.

Both Gayle and Jackie at Darlows Pontypridd were ever so helpful during the purchase of my new home. This is the second time I've purchased a house through Darlows and each time has been simple and stress-free. Jackie was always available to talk if I had any concerns and had a good working relationship with the solicitors I used, so she was able to chase them for information with ease. Gayle showed me around the property when it was first on the market and I confided in her that I had been struggling to find somewhere to live due to cash buyers undercutting me. In actual fact, a cash buyer did put an offer on this house and the vendor initially went with them! For some reason, they pulled out and Gayle called me before the house went back on the market to let me know. She said that she felt sorry for me and knew how much I loved the house, so she thought it was only fair to call me first and my offer was accepted right away!

Obviously, I am in the minority category here with my 1* review, but I would like to share my experience with some of the staff based in the Pontypridd branch and Darlows/Spicerhaart as a whole. Although lengthy, please take the time to read it.
If my negative experience helps just one person, my time is not wasted.
All started very well when I marketed my property with Darlows, the valuation etc was carried out by Diane Rumble. Shortly after this, I was asked to submit a review, naturally, I gave a 5* review, as up to this point all was in order.
Diane was very personable putting me at ease, having never sold a property before, it can be a little daunting. Most of the information I needed was provided with exception of their fees. Subsequently, I emailed the branch for this information and was told 1.25% there was no mention that vat was to be added.
I proceeded on this basis.
When Diane attended on the second occasion to take photographs, at my request, she brought literature with her as I had mislaid what had been previously sent to me.
I needed to show evidence of my identity by way of a driving licence, household bills etc. This was duly noted on the paperwork which Diane had brought. I was then asked to confirm these documents with my signature.
Whilst this was partially true, what I was actually signing was the contract/agreement. I duly signed where indicated in the belief that I was confirming the validity of the documents because, that is what I was told!
I fully accept this was my mistake but Diane had gained my trust and I believed what she told me. Had she told me I was signing a contract, I would have taken time to read it throughly. It was all about the wording she had used that caused my confusion.
I cannot categorically say she misled me, however, she was not clear.
Having signed this contract/agreement, what followed next was out of my control and the actual crux of the matter in relation to this review.
I only had 1 viewing of my property which I left in the hands of Gayle Chapman, and upon my return approximately 20 minutes later, the viewing had concluded.
There were 3 males present, 2 of which walked back to their vehicle. The remaining male was stood in my front garden whilst Gayle was stood at the gate entrance. He didn’t appear to be in any particular rush to leave, consequently, I offered my thanks to Gayle and closed my front door in the hope he would leave.
I was in the process of removing my outside footwear when I heard a loud rattling sound. I was outside within seconds to find the male violently shaking my drainpipe. He told me it was broke and could get it fixed for me, I found this very strange.
Unfortunately, due to child care commitments I had to rush off, however, I emailed Gayle approximately 30 minutes later to complain that she had watched this happen.
Long story short, this individual alleged that he was trying to fix my pipe which was damaged.
Not only do I dispute this allegation as I had not experienced any visible leakage of water from this pipe, even if what he says was true, he had absolutely no authority to attempt any repairs without my consent. Furthermore, the viewing agent made no attempt to stop him!
The cost of this repair was £40 which I requested was reimbursed by Darlows.
After many weeks of emailing Senior Staff at Spicerhaart, and issuing a small claims in Court, this is my warning.
Contained in the small print of their agreement is a clause which states that - Darlows are not liable for the actions of any persons they bring to your property! Therefore, if anything is broken or damaged they are absolved of any and all responsibility!
Furthermore, expect them to close ranks and in my case, “prepare to go on record” that they told you something they definitely did not.
For example, had I been told the true costs of their fees in my home why on earth would I need to email for this information as explained earlier?
