Proceed with caution: trust, but verify. Recently instructed Davidson Gold to sell my flat. While they’re often praised as friendly, local experts, my experience highlighted a critical warning for landlords: Landlord Tip: Before removing existing tenants, insist on written confirmation from a buyer (Solicitor) that they’re fully committed—get the contract exchanged first. Verbal assurances aren’t enough. In my case, the buyer they introduced proved unserious. I followed their advice, vacated the property—and then it sat empty for three months with no sale. During that time I: • Lost rental income • Incurred legal fees to end the tenancy • Suffered significant stress and mental anguish All because I trusted their word. After the sale stalled, calls and messages went unanswered, and I was left shouldering a huge financial loss. Thank you for reading this.... Read more

I cannot in any way recommend that you rent a property with Davidson Gold. When moving back to London in September 2016, the agent from Davidson Gold had promised us that our house would be ready for the Wednesday so i had booked a nearby hotel to get everything ready until that date. He however did not allow us to move in until the Saturday after, which meant that I had to pay for extra hotel nights at the last minute. The 6 of us moved in but after a month, the letting agent found out that the council allowed only 5 people to live in this house because of its size. One of us had to move out of a house he had already started to settle into. The issues with the agent did not stop there. Both him and the landlady would enter the house without giving us any prior notice. Our door handles would keep on breaking without being repaired, leaving the back door constantly opened. The house was badly refurbished before we were able to move in, which led to major damages including: broken tiles in the kitchen and mould all over the downstairs bathroom due to inadequate ventilation. This was brought to the agent's attention. He did however not bother looking at fixing these issues and instead blamed us for it, and took a significant amount of money from our deposits to cover these costs. We were also promised before signing the contract that we would be allowed to find people to replace us two months earlier than our contracts were due to expire (as we were students and would all leave for summer break) but ultimately this promise was retracted without warning at the last minute, forcing us to either cancel our plans or pay two months of rent whilst we were away. Finally, I want to add that throughout all these struggles, the tone from both the agent and the landlady was always disrespectful and spiteful.... Read more

I've been with Davidson Gold for the past 3 + years. Had an apartment rented with them. Really pleased with their service, professional and friendly. Shiran and Ian are great, always available when you need them. Any problem we had during our stay has been sorted promptly, always checking in to see if we are happy with the repairs or if the issue has been sorted. Before moving in they have asked us if we can wait a few more days so they can do some improvements to the property and when we moved in the place was spotless, freshly painted, with new kitchen appliances and worktop, new door... it was amazing! It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with this agent throughout the every single step of the rental criteria and the dedicated after service for the last three consecutive years. Really bad & completely untrustworthy. We recently tried to buy a property through Davidson Gold and its been an awful experience. I put in an offer which I was told at the time had been accepted. I was texted the address for the property which was incorrect and all mortgage paperwork was processed with the wrong address. I only found this out when my provider called to confirm a valuation date. I phoned Davidson Gold about this and was basically lied to repeatedly, the vendor actually hadn't accepted our offer. They wouldn't accept that they sent me the wrong address for the property even though I have it in writing. Needless to say we have withdrawn our offer as we cant trust this Estate Agent at all. For making such a life changing & expensive purchase I would not trust them. Terrifyingly dodgy & unprofessional. Don't trust them with the sale or purchase of your property as you will regret it....
