After months of trying to sell my house with another estate agents, I thought that Dawson's were the right people to help us move on, however, I was wrong. They valued our house a lot lower than other estate agents, granted their valuation might have been more realistic. We had many viewings in the beginning and led to an offer which we accepted. I hadn't heard anything off Dawsons for weeks regarding the sale and we were under a little pressure as we wanted a house up for sale but the seller wouldn't except our offer until we were further along in the chain. I asked Dawson's if they would just contact our buyer to see how things were but unfortunately, they said they don't work like that. Therefore, I took matters into my own hands and contacted the buyer (As they left me their number) only to find out they pulled out weeks prior which we wasn't informed. This made us angry, especially after a lady knocked our door the week before to ask if the house had sold because Dawson's had been turning her away for weeks before we even accepted an offer! This made us wonder, how many other people they turned away?! Apparently, if they don't have other bookings booked in, they will refuse as they like to do block bookings. In the end, I started showing viewers around no matter what time or day in the week, so basically doing their job for them. Anyway, I got back in touch with the lady who knocked the door and we agreed a sale between ourselves and once Dawson's found out they were adamant they were taking over and still expected the fee. I understand we were still in contract but they didn't do anything to sell our house as they actually turned our buyer away and I believe if she didn't knock my door, the house would still be up for sale today. Luckily, everything went through in time to get the house we wanted but Dawsons nearly cost us our new home. A part of me wish I stayed with the original estate agents as I believe we would have had more for the house and the communication was so much better and more frequent. Dawsons get 2 stars for listing the property and taking some good quality photos.... Read more

I bought my house with Dawsons Sketty in 2011 and they were fab. So when I came to sell it, I contacted them. Alison came round to value the house, and she was so enthusiastic and nice about my home - it was an easy choice to pick them to sell it. They kept in contact with me regularly, providing feedback after every viewing. Even when I had an offer (quite quickly too!), they maintained regular communication with me up to this week when I exchanged contracts. Their team is attentive, nice, and seems to really care about their clients. They are also very proactive and happy to help move along solicitors and the infamous "chain". After a long time with another agent and countless errors, we moved to Dawsons Sketty branch. Alison, Sharon and all the team there actively marketed our house (which we found out from the eventual buyers who we met on the second viewing had no interest whatsoever at first) they however fell in love with the property and made an offer 30 minutes after the first viewing. Selina then took over in sales progression and it was plain sailing to completion in 9 weeks. I have just sold my house with Dawsons in Sketty and they were the absolute A Team from beginning to end. Alison was really helpful during the initial stages when I was thinking about getting the house on the market. Then we had Gemma who helped with getting the property measured up and listed with attention to detail in the particulars. The package included a professional photographer who made my house look incredible - I was really pleased with the outcome. Sharon was an absolute star all the way through, booking my viewings and communicating with me at each and every step. If I had any questions, she was always available to answer them and put me at ease if I had any concerns. I must also mention Christine was great in keeping me informed with updates to the listing and so on. When the viewings took place, John and Leanne obviously did a fantastic job over the two days and even managed to squeeze in some second viewings from the first day as there was a lot of interest. Both days, I found the house as I had left it - you wouldn't have known multiple viewings had taken place each time. I was also really appreciative of them taking place on two defined days instead of dotted about the week to minimise the number of times I had to tidy up. That is worth its weight in gold when you're a busy, working mum! Within the week, Sharon helped me manage an influx of offers and we eventually went to full and final offers and one was accepted. It all happened exceptionally fast with the help of the team and, having set a very competitive asking price in an unpredictable market, the property found its true value and attained well over the original list price. Once a sale was agreed, I was passed over to Selina who kept me informed every step of the way as the sale progressed. She maintained good communication between my solicitor and the buyers' solicitor and always got back to me quickly. My house was sold quickly, and the marketing was excellent. At this point, Selina took over with frequent updates, great advice and reassurance.
