Now that the dust has settled on what has been a long and bumpy road ending in the successful sale of our property in Hall Green, Birmingham and the purchase of our new home in Shropshire we would like to say a big THANK YOU to the Dixons team who played such an important part in this.
All too often we are quick to criticise but seldom do we praise a job well done.
Well this job has been well done!
From the outset Dixons staff from the Acocks Green branch displayed a professional, can do attitude that was by far the best of the three agents we invited to our home. We asked all to provide an assessment of the housing market and a view on the marketing approach that would yield the best outcomes for us.
We were impressed with Lee’s understanding of the market and his willingness to listen to our concerns. He was clear in his explanation of the marketing process we should employ.
On the basis of this and the reasonable pricing we decided to proceed.
The ball was then passed to Courtney who did what can only be described as an amazing job in selling our lovely home.
He was clearly passionate about his job and it showed.
Within two days of marketing the property we had a block viewing of nine.
Two days after that our property was under offer.
It is a sad inditement of current property law in this country that it was possible for the turn of events that occurred to happen. But it is what it is.
Suffice to say that we eventually sold our property, at our fourth attempt.
During this time it was Ricky who kept the pressure on to find new buyers, acted as the liaison between buyers, buyers solicitors, our solicitors, our new build developers and of course us.
We now look forward to many happy years in our delightful new home from which we can explore our exciting and charming new town and its heritage rich surrounding area.
None of which would have been possible without the Dixons team, Lee, Courtney and Ricky. Thank you again.

I used the mortgage services for my recent house purchase. Adam was brilliant, very professional, with great communication skills. He explained everything clearly, always checking my understanding and happy to answer all the questions I had. He compared lots of different mortgage products which saved me the time and hassle of doing it myself, before deciding the best one for me. First time buyer went for mortgage advice with Adam absolute waste of time. Told me id get the mortgage in principle next week on our next meeting then told me he’d have it by Wednesday. I emailed and called didn't bother emailing or calling back. Even found a property i liked and wanted to put an offer but couldn’t due to not having the mortgage in principle. Just like to point out he still hasn't to date returned my call or replied to my emails. Absolute waste of time definitely don’t recommend him for mortgage advice he wont get back to you dont even know how he got the job if he cant get back to clients.

Can't fault these guys, Ricky, Lee and Courtney were all really friendly and professional. Initially, I was in two minds as to who to put my house on sale with but I found Lee's knowledge and expertise very reassuring. And this confidence was not misplaced as a buyer for my property was found within days, and then when the buyer had to pull out, they lined up another buyer in no time at all. And at a price I was very happy with. They kept in touch and did all they could to keep things moving smoothly along.
Would definitely recommend this branch to anyone looking to buy or sell property in the Acocks Green area.

The worst estate agents. Especially the mortgage broker Adam, he called me numerous times at 10 pm until he got his payment. Once he’d been paid I never heard from him. Every phone call I made or every email I sent was ignored by him. He wasted a lot of my time with the mortgage. When the day came for completion and I had to pick up my keys. What was supposed to be a very happy day for me, they absolutely spoilt it with informing the seller to drop off the at the office. I was stood there waiting and waiting. Lee treated me with so much disrespect. He didn’t apologise or offer me to take a seat I was stood there waiting. When he finally spoke to the seller who refused to drop the keys off, instead asked that I should pick up the keys myself as he was at the property. He should not have been at the completion. Lee just sat there shrugging his shoulders and said what can I do. As a duty of care he should have offered to go with me but he didn’t. He had a very bad attitude and really care. Try to stay away from these guys !!!

Spoke to a male employee at 1pm 16.01.23 who said ok and just hanged up the phone when I said my offer which was lower then what he was offered by someone else ..very rude can't believe Dixon's a big company like this have employees like this..I'm in the process of buying a house now and will not be using Dixon's now

I am sorry to say we did not have a good experience with the sales office. We put the flat on the market at the agreed selling price of £140,000. Almost immediately there was a pressure to drop the price.
We had a speedy offer from a property developer which we accepted at £136,000. From that moment on communications were dire from the branch. I'm sorry Ricky but your skills at keeping us updated were quite dreadful. We couldn't get through to the Branch as your answering machine was on every time. You didn't return calls and didn't keep us updated. Your attitute changed when the propective purchaser decided to lower the offer and we felt pressured to accept this.
You were supposed to ring or contact the purchaser who just seemed to disappear but it was obvious you hadn't spoken with him (as I insisted on holding on when I got through and spoke to your colleague who said you were in another call. He then disclosed you were actually ringing the purchaser because I was waiting)
On the supposed planned day of exchange there was simply no contact and the day passed without an exchange of contracts.
A few days later - after a series of unreturned calls - I managed to get through and speak to your colleague who advised me that the purchaser had decided to reduce his offer to £125,000 and furthermore he had not got a mortgage offer. This cost us extra in time, worry and I think in our legal fees. We rejected the offer and have felt so disillusioned with your service that we have sacked Dixons as our estate agents.
We have gone elsewhere (I know it's also part of the Countrywide Group so they are a related Company but if I am being honest it is you who has let your Branch down.)
Your two colleagues have always been polite and helpful and although I doubt they will say anything to you as their manager I suspect they are well aware of just how absent you are from any meaningful contact with us as clients.
I am truly disappointed that after we emailed you to say we were cancelling you as the Estate Agents for the property you did not bother to make any contact whatsoever or try to redeem the situation. We had no acknowledgement or communication whatsoever and still haven't.
The only thing that has been of any use is your recommendation of BlackFriars Law, Solicitors in Alum Rock. They have been really efficient but if you are expecting a commission then I sincerely hope you do not get it as you have actually been more of a hindrance than a help.
We have been three months living in expectation of a completion from a propective seller who hadn't even got a mortgage arranged. We relied on your advice and you let us down.

Good team at this branch who assisted us with the sale of our property. Efficient service and provided clear information at all stages.
An issue on one of the viewings was very quickly resolved and they followed all the internal processes to ensure it was properly documented.
The reason for 3 stars (would have been 4) is the recommendation provided for the solicitors to use (Countrywide). We went with these solicitors based on Dixon's recommendation and they were a nightmare in every single aspect. I really hope they stop recommending Countrywide solicitors as it was the worst customer service I have ever experienced (very very slow process, difficult to get through to solicitors, passive aggressive team managers and significant mistakes throughout the legal process).
I would highly recommended using Dixons as an Estate Agent, however, do NOT use their recommended property solicitors.

I approached Dixons with the unfortunate belief and opinion of being a highly reputable leading hight street brand able to produce a property market appraisal local to the Dixons branch. Upon meeting the particular agent; Ricky Reynolds of the Warwick Road, Acocks Green, Birmingham B27 6RG, branch, I was very disappointed with the lack of market knowledge presented. Moreover, I felt a very disconnect to facilitate the customer needs. I still await after three weeks for them to produce a market appraisal and sellers fee proposal, after chasing them a second time, I feel it should be up to the branch to follow up their own enquiries and customer leads. It is a big shame on Dixons such a national brand and to also learn Ricky@Dixons is a branch manager - responsible for letting down potential custom and the company’s name going down the drain. Sorry - but their are plenty of other company’s who are greatly obliging and pro to their name. Time is precious for all and not following up from your own execution of home visits, then I would suggest a further rigorous solution to qualify inquiries is in need. Henceforth, at the Acocks Green branch, I would consider, vast training is required. For all other potential customers reading this; if you are requiring a greatly improved service, always try the neighbouring competition of estate agents on Warwick Road.

We agreed a price for a quick sale and Dixons decided to put it on Rightmove and the market for an extra £10K without our permission. This slowed things down massively for us. We lost our first three viewings due to"software errors" but this was kept from us. For the next 7 viewings we only got feedback on 2 of them.
After selling the house we heard from Dixons once in 25 days and then all staff were furloughed and branch closed.
Incredibly poor experience and even poorer customer service. Please do not use this company.

We had to chase for feedback. Once lockdown began they were totally unresponsive even though we were assured they were working from home . We had to figure nd out from a completely independent company what stage our sale was at and even now we have yet to hear from them. Very disappointing and the epitome as to why estate agents get a bad name

I called in 22/02/2020 to arrange viewing for a property for sale on Fox Hollies rd. I was given a slot for 2.15 for 25/02/2020. I was told I will get address sent over. I had no address sent to me via txt or email. I called a number of times but no answer and even left voice message but no reply.

My partner and I decided to market both our houses with Dixons after they were recommended by a friend living locally. Although not the cheapest, you get what you pay for with exceptional attention to detail and professional attitude. Dan marketed our houses, and found a buyer for mine in 6 hours ! My partner's took a little longer at 6 days. Dan was informative and friendly and kept us updated at every stage. Would highly recommend the Acocks Green Dixons team, and would not hesitate to return if we decide to sell in the future.

My girlfriend and I have recently completed the purchase of our first property and Dixon's could not have been more helpful. In particular Dan Hearnden enabled us to progress through from first seeing the property to a speedy completion. We first viewed a property with Dan that was not right for us but Dan listened to our needs and came back with a property that fitted the bill and we put an offer in straight after viewing. He was able to meet us at the property multiple times during the process to completion to accommodate us taking measurements as well as providing local knowledge of the surrounding area as we discussed our intentions with the property. When we come to sell and buy again in the future Dan and Dixons would be the first people we call.

I would like to say i found Dixons Acocks Green branch brilliant and very helpful, Ricky Daniel and Stacey were brilliant with the sale of my late mothers home, I found them very sympathetic with what we as a family were going through. Every aspect of the sale was talked through right from the valuation till completion, I would also like to thank Zoe from the Yardley Branch who took over from Stacey towards the end of the sale for all her help and advice. We also used Countrywide Conveyancing and again they were brilliant and contacted me weekly with updates all the way. I would recommend Dixons 100% to one and all. Extremely efficient service from start to finish!!
I had the pleasure of 3 of the members of staff: Adam, Faye and Georgia. Each assigned an area to deal with, for which they clearly specialise.
Adam was the initial contact, who explained the process, rates and how everything would work etc. He came across as a great guy, straight forward, very genuine, honest and down to earth. Told me everything in an easy to understand dialogue, and gave me a sense of clarity for the sale. Faye then conducted the appraisal and took the measurements/photos of the property, before handing over to Georgia who managed the marketing, booked in the viewings and showed the potential buyers around the property (some even out of her working hours to accommodate both me and some of the potential buyers).
The transition from one member of staff to another was smooth, and all made me feel like they were at the end of the phone, or available for me to pop in at any time, should I feel the need. They had clearly mastered the delivery of high professionalism, yet somehow always maintaining a friendly, approachable manner.
Subsequently, the property sold within 2 weeks!! Once the sale was agreed, Georgia was on the ball in every aspect, keeping me well informed of all progress throughout the process, and even prompting me when need be.
Overall I couldn't be happier with the service I received, and what the team at Dixons Acocks Green did for me. I would definitely utilise them again, and would absolutely recommend them to others. Thanks all
