I used Foxtons Hackney to sell my flat. They drew me in with advice to sell the flat with far higher a price than was achievable, they followed this up with poor communication, poor service and creating a seriously unproductive relationship with the buyer. I was passed round the houses with who was looking after me and despite finally getting things over the line, I believe their misrepresentation of the facts led to a lower price being achieved in the sale. Finally they couldn’t even reply within their prescribed timelines for an official complaint. Overall unbelievable considering the price they charge. I would not recommend them to anyone, even if you think their size might result in a quick sale.

We had a superb experience with Jake, from viewings to getting our keys! The properties he showed were the best of our search. He was charismatic, professional, and extremely helpful to us as new renters. After choosing our flat, we needed to move in very quickly, and had some complexities with our housing arrangement. Jake was incredibly responsive to our many questions and quick to make all necessary arrangements—getting us moved in within a week of when we viewed the flat. He is a top-notch agent and we cannot recommend him enough!

Absolute disaster of an agents :( I tried to be so polite and understanding, but their agents just don't care, disrespectful to my time and are soooo painfully slow. With all the issues we have even my landlord decided to switch to another agency. I will also never rent from them again.
Avoid to save the nerves. They do not uphold their company mission and create bad reputation for a whole industry. I know there are good companies and agents, just not this one.

I purchased my first property with Foxtons and the service was excellent.
Jake Boateng was my sales negotiator and showed me several properties, he understood what I was looking for and also showed me some properties outside of my initial search area so I was able to see what was out there - a good thing too as I went for one just beyond the borders of where I was originally looking and it was ideal!!
Jake was great at understanding my budget and offered advice when it came to making the offer given I didn't have much headroom to negotiate and I really wanted the property.
Following the acceptance of the offer, Jake then also made himself available to show my parents around the property when they were visiting from Wales and they also commented on how friendly and personable Jake was.
Jake subsequently moved into the lettings team while my property was going through the motions with the solicitors and I was handed over to the Shoreditch office (Billy - who was also fab at pushing completion along!), but even with the change in role Jake still checked in and wanted to see the process through with me which was really nice on a personal level. Overall, I would highly recommend ! :)

Well where can I begin? Kayla was so amazing and she cared so much about ensuring all my property needs was fulfilled. She was so helpful, understanding and kind. Honestly best person and very understanding. I have bad experience in the past with letting from other companies and they seem to be money hungry or rush you. However Kayla isn't like that. She is people focused and delivers a service like no other. Absolutely fantastic. Kayla is one of your best assets. We need more people like here at Foxtons. I hope she goes a long way.

Hi there, I'd like to specifically call out Kayla for her amazing diligence and customer service.
Although I have not decided to go with Foxtons on this occasion, my experience with Kayla was so fantastic that I have to mention it.
My partner and I had a truly awful experience with Klaudia from the Foxtons Shoreditch branch where she wasted our annual leave to recommend us properties 1.5 times our max budget and in areas we specifically requested not to be shown.
Kayla on the other hand completely changed my opinion of Foxtons. Her caring demeanour, her kind words but most importantly, she stuck to the brief and offered me so many options, called me on her time off and honestly if it wasn't for the fact we found somewhere else, I'm sure Kayla would've been the one to close the deal with us. I will remember this when it comes to buying in the near future :)

Foxtons Hackney have been absolutely fantastic to work with as a first time buyer. I had super fast and responsive support from Emilia and James in particular. Emilia was there to show me the property multiple times, always accommodating my schedule.
We were able to move very quickly too, going from viewing to under offer in less than 48 hours over a weekend, and then from there to close and exchange in only two months. Both James and Emilia were patient and detailed in explaining all the steps to me to make sure I have the full picture.

Terribly rude and arrogant. Mare st office. James Teulon, the sales manager was unprofessional and rude. Their property are over priced. I made a perfectly respectful offer as a cash buyer on a property to which he simply responded “rejected” and hung up. Without even putting my offer forward to the vendor. Which by the way they have to do by Law within 48h. Goes to show there’s a reason for Foxton’s bad reputation. Avoid this branch. And theses agents. You will find similar properties from other agency at a lower price and much more pleasant and professional agents.*tho I should add that Kayla who I view properties with In The past is brillant.I wish her the best but I will not be dealing with that agency again

Cannot get this estate agent to stop calling me. Enquired about renting our house with them 7 years ago. Despite having since sold and move home they continue to call asking about doing a deal. Despite informing them and asking to be removed from their database on numerous occasions they still call. Brings into question how they handle customer information and data. Foxtons Hackney acted very quickly in identifying our key criteria for our ideal home and provided several suitable locations for us to go and see. A large of part of this was down to Rav who is very personable and got a great understanding of our needs. A pet peeve of mine is for an estate agent to let you into a property and just wait for you to finish, Rav was there to offer his opinion, point out key features and welcomed our feedback in order to further narrow down our search. Will happily use Foxtons and Rav again

Although I didnt end up going for the property, with Foxtons I found Kayla at Foxtons to be amazing from start to finish, she never got fed up of my questions ( I had a lot). We had the pleasure of dealing with Devon who showed us around our future home. He gave us the time to view the property at our own pace, was friendly and knowledgeable and did not try to apply any pressure or sales tactics during the viewing.
Following the viewing, we liaised with Devon who helpfully assisted us through the offer stage. We were then put into contact with Stan, the Lettings Manager, who progressed our offer incredibly quickly and we were able to sign for the flat less than 3 hours after viewing.

I've been letting with Foxtons Hackney since over 2 years. There's not been a single operation that they haven't managed to mess up. Overcharging for changes in tenancies, miss tracking our rental payments (always paid out regularly), mis-communicating to us and our landlord, and even breaching GDPR laws, sending out sensitive informations to former tenants of the property. 100% worst letting agency in London. Stay away!

It seems that this office has no desire to sell properties. Contacted re a property for sale on Mare St, to enquire about the length of lease. No option online to simply ask a question, so I gave them a ring - was put through to someone in the lettings team who had no access to the details or the system the property was on, so couldn't give me any information. She couldn't put me through to anyone in sales either. It's incredible that Foxtons fail at the first hurdle, wouldn't fill you with much confidence if you were going through the later stages of the buying process.

Contacted Foxtons through their website about property management services in Hackney, London. At first I was impressed as they responded to me almost immediately and provided instant feedback on a number of my questions. Unfortunately I was getting the bathrooms renovated at my property and was not in a position to get a valuation and appoint an agent until after that work was done a couple of weeks later. I was assured this was no problem and that they were keen to assist as soon as the work was completed. Two weeks later, when I had a firm finish date on the renovations, I reached out numerous times over about 1.5 weeks to book an appointment for the valuation. No response. Giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe the person I'd been dealing with had left or was on vacation i called the office and spoke to the person in charge of property management. Booked an appointment for the following day. Nobody showed. Given the numerous chances I gave them this was the final straw. Would never trust such an unreliable company with the management of my property and will never deal with them again.

Adele Hand was the agent helping me and she was simply incredible. She quickly grasped the type of property I was looking floor and was able to find just the perfect one. I will surely go back to her if I need to rent again.

My partner and I are both fairly new to the UK, which can make finding a flat particularly difficult. Adele made finding our dream home not only easy, but actually remarkably pleasant!
From our first meeting, she really listened to us and genuinely understood what we were looking for. She took the stress out of viewings by scheduling multiple appointments in a day and taking me around herself. She even arranged for a last-minute second viewing when I couldn’t decide about a particular flat. Even though I sometimes bombarded her with questions, I never felt like a burden.
When it came time to make an offer, I felt like Adele and Joe both totally had our back. They were both super communicative and made sure we were getting everything we needed. Unlike many agencies in London, we also never felt pressured to offer more money than we were able.
I honestly could not be more pleased with this experience, and will be recommending Joe and Adele to everyone I know.

Disgustingly unprofessional and frustratingly insincere service. To name Joe in particular, he means not a word of what he says. In amongst a full list of maintenance issues, our front door did not lock when we moved in, and despite Foxtons knowledge of this, nothing had been done to solve the issue. 4 weeks on, with over 3 calls a week, I still can not get onto joe despite being told time and time again “he will get back to me later in the day”. Today I called to make an official complaint about the standard of customer service provided and as soon as the I was put through to someone, the call dropped. This has happened 3 times today. I’m completely and utterly appalled with the miscommunication on all levels.
My flat mates and I are wishing we never chose Foxtons.

This agency is a complete joke. We've had mold in our property since October of 2018 and have been in constant communication with updates on the condition of the home. They've sent 5 different contractors around with little notice and haven't presented any kind of report to inform us of the severity of the issue. The "help" they sent for the mold was a copy and paste definition of how mold occurs and solutions that include breathing less.
Although we continue to chase on a solution, they neglect to give full answers and continue to lead us in a circle of never ending back and forth emails that lead to nothing. We've had declining health conditions as well as a poor piece of mind constantly worrying about the state of the building we are living in.
If at all possible, avoid Foxtons. They come at a high price to do absolutely nothing.

When you are new tenant they are really really good and really friendly. Also really helpful as well. But when you are leaving the Foxtons really hard to you can find some one else to answer your message, mail or call. No one help you and they will answer you after a week if you are lucky. They try to charge a lot for removing of landlord's staff. This is totally ridiculous. They look like such a good company however, they try to do nasty little games to keep as much as your deposit. I am their tenant for 2,5 year and I can say their services are disgusting when you left the flat. I am happy to move out from their property. Do not recommend that company.

Agreed to work with Foxtons for the sale of my property. I suggested an Open Day to which they said it would probably not generate enough people through the door. A few weeks after the property went on the market Foxtons suggested a reduction in asking price by 200k, reason - because of Brexit. Once that is done, still very few viewings and another reduction in asking price suggested. Realised they were all talk and did not seem to know what they were doing so dropped them as fast as I could, went to another estate agent had an Open Day with 7 couples through the door and 3 offers and got what I wanted.

I would like highly recommend Michal Bocian to anyone. He is super good person and he is very professional. I am the owner of the property at Canary Wharf and I used to work with him since 2010 until Michal changed the office, to Hackney. Firstly, he always can find a tenant for any property or a property for any tenant. Somehow, he knows what everybody wants and he matches the people with property. Secondly, I never had property empty more than 6 weeks and it means that nobody ever looked the property to rent for too long. Lastly, and it is very important, if we would have any issue between tenant and landlord - magically, he always helped. I am very sorry that he left Canary Wharf but I hope that his new clients also will be happy as we were and our tenants over the last 6 years!

I recently needed some advice regarding what to do with one of my buy to lets in Hackney Central regarding the 3% stamp duty increase in April. Mr Chris Manderson was extremely helpful as he was very knowledgeable about the impact this will have on my situation. I went into the branch with mixed feelings about Foxtons, I was told they were extremely aggressive and to stay well clear of them. I saw an element of that but only in the right areas, after speaking to Mr Manderson I was 100% positive that they will get the job done and to the highest standard. I would highly recommend giving Foxtons my business and when I am ready the first person I will be calling will be Mr Manderson.

I feel really lucky that we met James Teulon at Foxtons, as he was by far and away the most professional, attentive, and helpful estate agent that we worked with, and probably the reason that we found our dream flat. He listened to all of our specifications and would immediately let us know when something came up that we might like. I think he must have been instrumental in getting us the place we eventually made an offer on, as the former owner initially said no and then changed her mind. We couldn't recommend James more!

When I was preparing to put my flat on the market in July 2015 I spoke to a neighbour who wasn't happy with Foxtons' service and I also found out that Foxtons (in a joint sale with another estate agent) had mis-priced a flat round the corner from my flat. However Foxtons gave the highest valuation on my flat and I decided to try them anyway.
For the sale of my flat Foxtons turned out to be very good. Initially I thought their valuation was too high - but as things turned out the valuation proved pretty accurate.
My main contact at Foxtons was James Teulon. He was very good. He always returned phone calls and emails promptly. I was in a (short) chain. James often kept the various parties informed about what was happening and tried to keep things moving forward. James communicated efficiently between me and the man buying my flat. There were various delays (none of them caused by Foxtons) and James was always helpful in trying to move things on. I was concerned that my buyer might offer a reduced price once he had a valuation or survey done. James said that he didn't think the price would change and he turned out to be correct. James printed out documents for me when my printer broke down. I have forgotten some of the details now (the sale completed in December 2015) - but as I said James was very good.

I bought a flat last year with John C. He was very available and kind at the beginning during the viewing. After that he became very difficult to reach, we had to rescheduled different appointments, even when my parents came here from Italy. He was impossible to reach by phone hence I had to go to the agency in person several times to speak to him. When the contract was signed off I collected the keys from a colleague of him at the agency and never heard from him anymore.John, I hope you'll do better with other costumers next time!

I've worked with Michal from letting department for a couple of years now. It has always been a pleasure to work with him. Professional, nice, first class letting service, always reachable, and always helpful! Never has a problem with tenants that Foxtons introduced, always pay rent on time, look after the property, and no mess. For various letting agencies I've worked in the past, Foxtons is the most professional and the best I have to say, although Foxton'sfee is a bit high, but worthy the service and the quality of tenants they find for me.
