We have just sold out property throught Gasoigne Halman and they were brilliant. It wasn't an easy sale due to terrible solicitors on our buyers side, however GH were fantastic.
Shout out to Tom and Andrea they were both a pleasure to deal with, they were constantly on top of things and always willing to go the extra mile to push things along (even often listening to me rant about solicitors).
A companies reputation and quality is driven by the people so I couldn't rate GH any higher based on my experience with Tom and Andrea.

Really not good so far. There was next-to-no proactive feedback on viewings. Having accepted an offer over 2 weeks ago, we are still waiting to start conveyancing. Staff don't answer emails until chased several times and the phone goes to voicemail when you call the office. Based on our experience so far, I would avoid.

Visited the Didsbury Branch last week and found the staff (including Regan who I spoke to) to be most welcoming & helpful. I have been to a few other estate agents on the high street and not been as impressed with the service and it really made my visit more enjoyable. Highly knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble when answering my questions. Excellent service overall!

The service we received from Gascoigne Halman was superb from first to last.
James is a true professional: knowledgeable, insightful and efficient. His analysis of the local market trends proved invaluable, and his advice was always shrewd and accurate.
But there's more to moving house than just the transaction: there's an emotional element to it too. James gave us rock solid support every step of the way, listening, advising and advocating and negotiating on our behalf. He was always there for us, in person or on the phone, whenever we needed him. He tailored his advice to our needs and priorities, he always followed through on what he promised and he earned our trust absolutely.
We are deeply grateful to James and we would recommend Gascoigne Halman wholeheartedly.

My partner and I rented an apartment through Gascoigne Halman from late 2023 - early 2024 and did not have a great experience:
1. We were given the wrong set of keys twice. I asked Laura Harrison if they were the correct keys after finding the first set didn't work and she told me yes, not actually checking until our third attempt to collect our keys.
2. We were given a broken fob for the building. Laura Harrison repeatedly ignored my emails regarding a replacement, so we ended up paying out of pocket for a new one from the building management company. Our requests for access codes to the building were also ignored.
3. The property was in very good condition but needed some repairs from the start of our tenancy. Laura did not give us an inventory report when we moved in, despite saying we would receive one, so we emailed her about the repairs needed. These emails were also ignored and not single repair was completed during our tenancy.
Ultimately, we barely heard from Gascoigne Halman until Laura called to tell us the landlord wanted to sell the place and we needed to leave at the end of our tenancy. And, to top it all off, after we had moved out, Gascoigne Halman tried to charge us for not leaving the property in the conditon outlined in the inventory report they did not provide us with (we had cleaned the property before leaving too).
The lack of responsiveness to our queries was very disappointing and gave the impression that Gascoigne Halman did not care about our experience as tenants. Would not recommend.

Navigating the sale of our property, we encountered a prolonged and challenging process, exacerbated by a lengthy chain that made the experience incredibly stressful. However, James' exceptional dedication and professionalism shone through this period.
His responsiveness was fantastic. He provided regular updates, ensuring I was always in the loop. This was especially crucial over the last 12 weeks, where my daily conversations with him became a cornerstone of the process. His patience and understanding were evident, and he consistently made an effort to return calls or update me via calls and emails.

I cannot rate James and the team at Gascoigne Halman highly enough when selling my house in West Didsbury. After my husband’s unexpected death, my daughter and I decided to sell. It was a traumatic time, but James Thornley was like a rock in a storm, he didn’t pester us, he waited for us to sort out our affairs and get back to him. That’s why we chose this firm as they didn’t pester. When we were ready to sell, they kept us updated all the time, I could ring or email and my queries were attended to straightaway. I have moved house all over GB with my husband’s career and have had some awful selling experiences in the past, but James’ calm professionalism and leadership made this move the smoothest I could wish for. Andrea handled recent House Purchase very professionally, was always contactable (usually calling back around 5pm the same day) and was hugely helpful communicating with the sitting tenants, sellers and sellers solicitors. Very understanding on the fact that I couldn't view the property before making an offer and was only able to send a friend round. Highly recommend and hope if I ever go through a house purchase again that Andrea is the estate agent involved.

Been a customer for 3 months now... Extremely disappointed.. 3 weeks since raised issue with shower, still waiting approval apparently.. tenacy not cleaned while beginning of contract, after multitude of emails back and forth, was informed that fat dripping from the extraction hood is not their problem as I have not asked for the apartment to be cleaned at the beginning of tenacy. Doors dont lock, cupboard doors dont stay shut, mould in the house near windows, when asked why a certain drawer doesn't open in the kitchen was informed that it is ornamental. I am new in the UK, hoping that this bad service is just limited to this particular agency and not the actual consumer service in general. Would have given a zero rating if it was possible.

Great first impression. Lived in my home for 31 years; widowed 7 years ago so selling and downsizing really big and emotional deal for me. Manager Nathan was lovely; really understanding and empathetic. They've 'held my hand' all the way through. All the staff at the Didsbury branch have been fab. I still need to find a property so not gone through yet but it will be ok... every faith in Nathan, Gemma, Fraser, Sue et al.
