My aged parents bungalow was only 20+yeras old but in need of a lot of updating. Locally, a number of new 2 and 3 bedrooms bungalows were available at competitive prices that impacted on the ability to sell ours.
The team at Henderson-Connellan worked hard marketing the property, we had potential sales fall through, but they never gave up or lost focus. They continued to work towards a sale for well over a year and to their credit the bungalow was sold in September 2024 for an acceptable price.
I am extremely grateful to the whole team at Henderson-Connellan for their perseverance and prefessionalism.

Awful experience with Kettering branch .
If you are looking to rent go elsewhere, there are plenty of other estate agents out there .
Staff were dismissive and unhelpful. Had to chase calls and emails .It was as if dealing with tenants was beneath them.
Have had to wait for 5 months to get our deposit back after using the Deposit protection service which was very stressful .

I have never experienced such appalling treatment from an estate agency as I have with Henderson Connellan. As a tenant, it became abundantly clear that their priorities lie solely with their sales clients, and tenants are treated as nothing more than an afterthought.
From the start, their communication was atrocious. Trying to get in touch with anyone for basic maintenance issues or general inquiries was a nightmare. Phone calls would go unanswered, emails were ignored for days, and when someone did eventually respond, they were dismissive and unhelpful. It was as if dealing with tenants was beneath them, and we were constantly made to feel like an inconvenience.
It’s not just me who’s had this awful experience either — Henderson Connellan’s reputation across Kettering, Corby and Market Harborough speaks for itself. Ask around and you'll quickly learn that they’re widely disliked in the area. Countless ex-tenants share similar stories of being mistreated, ignored, and neglected, while their sales clients receive the royal treatment. It’s a well-known fact that they only care about you if you’re buying or selling property; otherwise, you’re left to fend for yourself.
One of the most disgraceful things is their complete lack of concern for health and safety. My rental property was full of mould (a serious health risk) and despite repeated requests to address the issue, nothing was done. They don’t care that tenants are living in unsafe conditions, breathing in mould that can cause severe health problems. The blatant disregard for tenant welfare is shocking and completely unacceptable.
Their insincerity is painfully obvious — they’ll plaster on fake smiles and feign politeness when there’s money on the table, but the moment you’re locked into a rental contract, that mask slips, and they couldn’t care less about providing any real support or service. The stark difference in how they treat different clients is infuriating.
The level of professionalism at Henderson Connellan is laughable. The staff are rude, unresponsive, and seem to lack even the basic decency to treat tenants with respect. The discrepancy in how they treat different clients is glaring, and their fake, two-faced attitude makes for an unpleasant experience all around, not to mention their desire to cut corners, and yes I will be letting the CTSI know with names and evidence.
If you're looking to rent, avoid this agency at all costs. They do not care about you, your concerns, or your well-being. In fact, it’s no surprise that they’re loathed across the county — their treatment of tenants is disgraceful. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

I rented a property through Henderson Connellan in August 2023. Having departed the property on July 25th 2024 I am still waiting for my deposit to be returned (Sept 2024). As there is no dispute as far as I am aware I cannot fathom why this cant be actioned. When Ive have contacted them to chase them the response has been poor or negligible. Perhaps be careful parting with your money until you establish the method and timescale in which it will be returned. And if your system and processes don't work how about apologising and then doing something to fix them rather than ignoring it and hoping it will go away.

The sale of our family home took 2 years after our mum died with 2 purchasers dropping out for personal reasons and so we were third time lucky and the sale completed on 30 August 2024. James Smith in the Kettering branch was of particular note as he visited for the first valuation, was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the housing market at any given time, always available or quick to respond and gave us good advice throughout on pros and cons for changing the price, spending time and money refurbishing or considering letting without any pressure to decide either way. He would phone before a holiday to provide an update on where we were and explain that all their team was available to help in his absence. He ran a good team who were all professional (Jessica was particularly efficient although I know she no longer works there) and managed to organise well over 70 viewings throughout and never gave up on us - unlike some other estate agents are known to do. A final message left to send congratulations was appreciated. Amy efficiently stepped in to help oil the wheels with getting a response from our solicitors at a key moment when requested. Charges were very competitive and good value for money. Would highly recommend.

Would not recommend this estate agents at all. No respect for tenants , give a time frame of between 9:15am - 18:00pm with 24hrs notice for 6 monthly inspections so you literally have to take the whole day off work as they can come anytime you would think for working tenants they would give an hour slot, they also let themselves in to the property. Had a shower once and the male estate agent let themselves in lucky the chain was on so i just heard the loud bang and im a female living with my young son. Was told they knocked once and no answer so they let themselves in . All recorded on ring door bell. No privacy at all. Even the Landlord was not happy that they had let themselves in. This has happened 3 times despite having formal complaints raised and had no reply from complaints raised or even a manager callback

Having recently asked Henderson Connellan to sell my property in Geddington for me I was gobsmacked at how incompetent they were. I was just beginning a large extension on it to double its size and asked them to market it off plan. They seem to have no concept of square footage and would compare a 1700sqft house with a 2700sqft house and value them the same. Between them they had no clue what they were doing and that was after the whole office traipsed through my house. Absolute clowns was all I could think whilst watching them. They are guess merchants and not very good ones at that. In 27 years of buying and selling property this is by far my worst experience I have had. Kettering office, you are an embarrassing joke.

I do not recommend. Do not ask for anything because you will be thrown out - 5 minutes later you get a message that you have to move out. We did, because the property is ruined anyway, the owner probably only rents the property to keep the deposit. I call for a deposit and the young lady asks if i want to see the property , I say that iam calling for the deposit, that the landlord has to check the property but the property has long been available for rent with a higher rent ! We have dealt with many estate agents over the years; Henderson Connellan is by far and away the best in the business. None of that lying, subterfuge and pulling the wool over your eyes that is so commonplace. What's more, they were not even the most expensive in terms of fees and THEIR VALUE OF OUR HOUSE WAS £50,000 HIGHER THAN ANOTHER AGENT (and we sold within the week at the value Henderson Connellan gave us). Read that again if you need to choose an agent yourself!
James, Sam and Callum were helpful, communicative, friendly and professional with great local knowledge and also legal understanding. They really worked hard to lubricate the cogs and keep things moving, as much as was in their power to do. They assisted with obstructions, even going so far as to find out what they could when things came to a standstill in an external part of the process, beyond our own chain.

Without a doubt the worst experience of my life, I have never been made to feel so little by spending My money. The experience made me feel like I was buying I used car, and to be honest that is a disservice to use car salespeople who put a lot more effort in than this particular lot of people in Kettering. I initially put an offer in of 10K below the asking price and was informed on the phone, this would not be accepted by the owner. I was then told that they have received a few offers and all the potential purchases will be given a fairly chance to put their best and final offer forward and would receive a call in the morning for my offer.
I then called back within 20 minutes and was told person I was speaking to was unavailable I left a message for that individual to contact me, he never did. I called back 2 hours later and was left on hold for a good five minutes before somebody came back to me to let me know that the person I was trying to contact was not in the office. I received a call the following morning and was informed but the vendor had accepted an offer from one of the other offers that was put forward, this really upset me as I had made a couple of attempts to speak to them the day before to change my offer as we really, really liked that particular property.
I spoke to the sale manager and explain my situation she was very apologetic and said she'd get to the bottom of the matter she also informed me that if I was to put a higher offer in she felt I would then be in the driver seat as the vendor was very much money driven. I put in 2,5K above asking price. we received calls from her and she informed us that the vendor Decided to go with the other offer because it was a sure thing.
Two days ago I received a text message from the sales manager informing me that the house is back on the market I responded to her and left her a voice message I am still waiting for a call back, It no wonder this property has been put back on the market twice.
#Worstexperienceever I do not recommend these people at all, if you value service and want a good experience of buying your dream home. DO NOT USE Henderson Connellan Kettering

Very disappointed about the way they managed my move out of a property I was renting for 5 year! I was never late paying the rent! I had an issue that the landlord failed to fix for 4 years and in the end the agency was trying to make me pay for it, even though they knew that requests were made for the issue to be fix. Tried to resolve the problem over the phone, never the right person in the office, never got a call back, and when they did answer the phone they were rude!!!

My entire experience with Henderson Connellan was a fantastic, stress free and very helpful one. In terms of equality and diversity Henderson Connellan is doing a great job and if i decide to buy a house one day I would want to use their service again, a lot of the service was done electronically on a safe and secure website where payments were made through. On the day of the viewing the member of staff adhered to the face mask and social distancing rule whilst still being completely friendly.
Once I expressed my interest in the property it was only a matter of hours before i was told the offer had been accepted and we soon began the paperwork. everything was done online and even though i had to contact the office a few times they were ever so helpful to me each time. The agent that assisted me Connie, guided me through every stage until the signing of the documents and collection of the key. and even helping to provide me with further documents after moving in. I just hope the maintenance team will be as organised as the letting agents.

We have moved many times in different countries but can honestly say this was the least stressful move of all; this is especially remarkable as we were trying to move in the Covid 19 situation and the odds were stacked against us!
Emma Glithero was outstanding in her commitment to supporting the purchase and made many contacts to expedite the process outside of usual working hours.
I don’t often write reviews but genuinely want to express heartfelt thanks for making this happen both for us and for our wonderful vendors.

In my recent search for a new home I found several properties that I wanted to view through Henderson Connellan. These viewings were all booked together for me and dealt with by the lovely Callum. I found him to be very polite and helpful. Easy to chat to and most importantly he actually listened to what I was looking for in a new home. He did in fact help me find my ideal property and arranged a very quick follow up visit with the vendors so my daughter could view it too. We were happy to make an offer. The conveyancing process was far from straight forward. It was at times very fraught and on the verge of collapse. However, the lovely Emma worked very hard to keep the process going. She was very attentive and responded and dealt with queries quickly and efficiently. I am delighted to say we eventually all survived the process and I am now happily settling in my new home. As an ‘accidental’ landlord, I have used Henderson Connellan (in Kettering) as a letting agent for 6 years.
They have provided an excellent, reliable and friendly service regarding:
Finding reliable and responsible tenants quickly to rent my property at a great rental price
Managing the tenancy process and carrying out their responsibilities in a thorough, efficient way
Communicating and explaining important, relevant information to me and my tenants
Dealing with and helping to resolve different types of issues including property maintenance, repairs and tenant deposits
Recently they demonstrated their excellent service with a previous tenant who initially was very congenial but then became difficult due to circumstances beyond Henderson Connellan’s and my control. Their handling of the situation to the tenant’s unhelpful attitude, and approach to recovering part of the tenant’s deposit to pay for the necessary cleaning of the property after the tenant had vacated it was very impressive and reassuring. During this time, they have also managed to find a new tenant quickly.

We were looking for house and we found one through this agency, everything was ok till we got email saying to pay fees and fill out paper work in next 10min we had a phone call, that we cannot rent the house anymore as they done mistake and actually is rented to somebody else. I contacted Henderson Connelan as one of three Estate Agents to sell a house I was disposing as part of an estate of two bachelor cousins who had died within 4 weeks of each other. It struck me as a very difficult sale due to the condition of the house.
They were the most optimistic of the agents, though all three were helpful. They had the brochures prepared and the house on the market within a week, and viewings within three days.
They dealt with everything for me, as visiting was a 320 mile round trip, kept me well informed, and we have now exchanged contracts, and completion is due this month.

I've used Henderson Connellan for the last 2 or 3 years for not only the purchase but also as the managed service for renting my property out.
Both processes were smooth and easy and the managed service has been perfect considering I am not located in Kettering. It makes my life easier knowing that Laura and the team have everything in hand. The introduction of the FixFlo website, also makes for a very easy life and makes managing any potential issues easier so I can see the status of them at any time of the day.
I’ve thrown many questions to Laura and others over the years, and I feel like I can trust their judgement but also their advice with the feedback I received and is always very professional.
Would happily recommend HC to others, and certainly have no plans to move away from them. I’m very happy with the service.

We were shown around a house by Sam and Eleanor. They were brilliant. Not pushy at all in their sales pitch, they just allowed us the freedom to explore the house for ourselves, answered any questions we had (with a lot of knowledge of the local area) and made the house viewing incredibly enjoyable. Such a breath of fresh air not to have people trying to force you to like a house and compromise on what you want. Definitely ask for either of them in the future!

These "estate agents" work on the basis of two people offering asking price and an auction ensuing. Business ethics of my big toe.
These "business people" prey on the desperation of young people to borrow more than they should do for houses that aren't even worth half of what they are up for.
Unhelpful, typical estate agents who, in their own words "think of the seller over the buyer" they need to consider that if there were no buyers then they would be out of a job instead of insulting and upsetting the people with the money, regardless of how many buyers you assume there are. Advice to you all try gazundering instead of paying top whack for houses that arent worth half of what the greedy sellers and agents want for them to line their pockets on the back of the buyers misfortune. If these lot were builders they would be classed as rogue traders

When renting a property from them they where great! the moment first months rent and deposit came out that was it. If you needed to contact them you couldn't. They would never reply ! When they did decide to reply they where rude even putting the phone down without a goodbye. We decided to move on to a new home with a different letting agency. Gave them the required amount of time and where happy for them to allow people to view the property. NOT HAPPY that without warning would let themselves into our home with random strangers wanting to view the property. Never once had the decency or respect to contact us. Then to top off our wonderful experience when we had found a new property with a different letting agency we had to pay THEM a £30 REFERENCE FEE PER PERSON EACH TIME we wanted another letting agency to do a reference check. When we questioned this they told us this is what they do although never heard of any other letting agency charging this. THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU THIS TO BEGIN WITH SO BEWARE
