I have used this office, before and after the new look and management, and what i will say is, they are already making BIG changes, the look, the staff, the atmosphere, even the way they are dealing with us (the public) is so professional...I am amazed, i have used other Jones and Chapman offices too and have been impressed by them also. Sue, Libby, Nick, Alice & Claire have been fantastic, even though when ever i go into the shop they are very busy, they are always smiling, laughing and happy to help. The Lettings team are also fantastic, even though i chose not to go down that route, Abi was amazing and should i LET in the future she will be my first call. I will recommend them to every one i know, and as promised next time i pass, I will bring you all some cakes....Thanks again for all your help :)... Read more

Shamble of a company AVOID
do not rent a property off this company they are all for the money had so many problems and they will not fix anything. I have had no hot water for 2 years in the property and there response is to boil the kettle and run the shower to bath my 2 year old child. I have had mice for 2 years and they have ruined my sofas which were brand new when I moved in which I have never been reimbursed for I was told to put mouse traps out which is defeating the object they will not send pest control out. My box room window will not open, fence panels broken was told when I moved in they will be replaced still waiting 2 years later so my child can't even play in the back garden as it is now too dangerous. I have asked to be released from my tenancy and they threatened me to pay £690 to put THEIR property on Rightmove. Their is so much damp and mould in the property where I have been at the hospital with both my son and husband and they turned round and said just spray mould spray it's condensation the amount in the property is ridiculous it needs a damping course I have now got the council involved as the property is actually unlivable and the council have confirmed this to me. I have reported to the complaint team at Jones and Chapman and they don't even care. If anyone is to rent a property avoid and if a properly comes up on Halcyon Road Birkenhead avoid.... Read more

Absolutely God awful, now I understand their terrible reputation.
After my partner had finally got rid of their domestically abusive partner she tried to remove them off of the tenancy, so the police could ensure they had no rights to visit the property.
They refused to do so, as there was 6 months left on the contract and the situation was explained that the person had also left of their own accord and moved property.
After a stressful (ONE) month of payment being late for two weeks, they'd hassled her constantly (whilst pregnant and being aware of this prior) and were paid they then hassled her to renew the contract for another year despite the situation being explained. She advised them her situation is unclear at the moment as she was awaiting results of her PIP assessment. (Again a situation they were aware of).
Once she had got back on her feet she paid her rent, and also paid up for a few more months rent in advance to ensure she was at least covering her contract term.
During this period she advised them of a list of repairs she would like to be complete before she renewed as they hadn't been done despite being promised when she first moved in.
Two months before her contract is due to renew, they've told a pregnant and vulnerable person that the landlord has decided instead to sell the property conveniently after they'd been advised of repairs they've failed to complete.
To top this all off, weeks ago they were asked numerous times by another letting agency as well as us that they were to send references to our new to be landlord.
They seem to have avoided this until last minute, in which they have then given an "unsuitable reference" to the landlord. (Only issues that have been raised were the one time rent was two weeks late).
Oh, and let's also mention they renewed a tenancy without consent of either the tenant or the guarantors with the abusive partner's name still present.
So thanks, Jones and Chapman. Your reputation as a terrible provider of over-priced, worn down accommodation is now clearly well merited.... Read more

Not very helpful. Decided to go ahead with our application which was a weight off our shoulders & felt hopeful, to be told the next morning landlord has changed his mind & going with another applicant. Now have to wait up to a week for our holding deposit refund. Back to square one for us.... Read more

There are so so many aspects to this review, I have had some bad landlords in the past but nothing as bad as this branch.
I was in my property for 3 months before I had to move out because the council put a probation order in place due to it not being suitable for living. (Through hazards in the property)
But I handed my keys back on the 19/06/23. (Rent wasn’t due till 23/06/23)
Almost two weeks after I received an email to say I was in arrears. After chasing it up the branch hasn’t even done the paper work to state I have moved out! No documentation has been done at all.
Now I have to wait even longer to receive my deposit back. When they are at fault!
They are self centred and don’t respect the customers.
Jones and chapman maybe okay as a whole but this branch, give it a wide birth and find one which has morals.
There’s so much more to this story but that’s a brief insight... Read more

Unfortunately the same thing has happened yet again with this branch. Book in for a viewing at the earliest possible time. Then get a phone call the day before the viewing to say someone has viewed and had an offer accepted.
Spoke to the branch manager, John, who said they only have 1 viewing Clark, and they only work part-time. This means they can only do viewings on very few days.
Awful customer service, and goes hand in hand with when I almost dealt with them for a mortgage

Honestly, absolutely awful. Tried to up rent payments by £110 with 2 weeks notice and refused to acknowledge that this is illegal until the whole building complained and they finally gave the legal 1 months notice. No one ever answers the phone and if they do they are very rude. Complained multiple times about the state of the apartment and was ignored every single time. Just absolutely awful and I can't express the relief I feel now that I am away from them. Trust the large amount of terrible reviews this branch has received.... Read more
