If I could give more than 5 stars for a member of the Jones & Chapman team I would. I have been dealing with Rebecca from the sales department and would just like to say what a credit she is to the team. We are in a position of having to vacate our rental property as our landlord is selling, Rebecca has been so kind, understanding and supportive during this process along with offering advice for solutions for our own housing situation. She is a credit to the Jones & Chapman team with her kindness and bubbly nature she is a ray of sunshine in a somewhat horrible situation. We chose Jones and Chapman after hearing two good reviews off our friends. Booking an appointment was really quick and easy. We were assigned Nick Cabo as our advisor and he was an absolute god send. Explained everything thoroughly and set us realistic time frames of when we could expect things to happen. As first time buyers we didn’t know where to start but nick talked us through everything and was always on hand via call or email if needed. We would have really struggled without him, we now have our offer and are progressing and know nick will be there for any queries or concerns we have to guide us the best he can. One star isn’t even deserved for the hell we have been through the past 8 months with the Prenton branch. We moved into our house October 2023 and there was a couple of small things which were fixed quite quickly.
The first main issue has been Abigail, when we first moved in she gave us the wrong bank details to pay our rent to. She gave us a personal bank account for a woman named Joanna, when the rent is meant to be payed into a business account. She took barely any accountability for this and just brushed it off.
After the company giving us 2 weeks to move out, She gave us 2 days notice that our house would be up for viewings whilst we were still living there and that if we couldn’t be present she would use the key they held to let herself in. We had to arrange for someone to be there as we couldn’t take time off and was far from comfortable with her being there alone. She said to the person who was supervising her doing viewings how much we’d been perfect tenants and always payed on time and kept the house very clean and tidy.
We cleaned the house before moving and left it in a cleaner state than when we got it, payed our rent on time every month yet she sent a reference to our new landlord stating we are bad tenants who can’t pay our rent on time and missed payments, and also mentioned us hounding her for repairs.
We discovered a leak in the bathroom from the negligence of the landlord it opened a can of worms. We discovered in January 2024 a small amount of mould coming from under the bath. After 2-3 months of asking we had a plumber come and asses the bathroom. Prior to him coming the landlord had stated he doesn’t give permission for him to remove the bath panel, which is where the mould was coming from, the plumber did anyway and discovered the bath hadn’t been fitted correctly and the tiles weren’t fitted correctly either and could fall down at any point taking the shower with it. The landlord demanded second and third quotes for the repairs and still by June had done 0 repairs. Bearing in mind I am severely asthmatic and had recently recovered from pneumonia and was also pregnant, he did not care. Jones and chapman had plenty of time to repair the property but left us with an unsafe bathroom. We asked to be released from the tenancy 4 months early due to the condition of the house. They agreed and said either move out within the next 2 weeks or you will have to stay until November which is when I am due. We moved out in July and the landlord and jones and chapman disappeared and stopped replying to our emails regarding our deposit and took nearly 2 months to send it back to us, after claiming damages were from us, that were actually there before we moved in.
I have attached photos below of the state of the bathroom we were living in. We handed out keys back on a Friday in July and by the Monday someone had already picked the keys up and was moving in, despite the bathroom being unsafe to live with.

Nick has been absolutely amazing at helping me with buying my first house. I’m an apprentice on a temporary contract and he has managed to source a mortgage with a top lender with a very competitive interest rate, despite my difficult affordability circumstance. Even after getting my mortgage offer through and approved, Nick continued to help when there was an issue between the solicitor and the mortgage company, keeping me regularly updated when the solicitor went quiet. The house is due to complete in nine days, so fingers crossed everything goes smoothly. Despite the cost of the lifetime membership, I would recommend Nick to anyone needing mortgage advice, and if I ever move in the future I will definitely be using Nick’s services again.

I have used this office, before and after the new look and management, and what i will say is, they are already making BIG changes, the look, the staff, the atmosphere, even the way they are dealing with us (the public) is so professional...I am amazed, i have used other Jones and Chapman offices too and have been impressed by them also. Sue, Libby, Nick, Alice & Claire have been fantastic, even though when ever i go into the shop they are very busy, they are always smiling, laughing and happy to help. The Lettings team are also fantastic, even though i chose not to go down that route, Abi was amazing and should i LET in the future she will be my first call. I will recommend them to every one i know, and as promised next time i pass, I will bring you all some cakes....Thanks again for all your help :)

Shamble of a company AVOID
do not rent a property off this company they are all for the money had so many problems and they will not fix anything. I have had no hot water for 2 years in the property and there response is to boil the kettle and run the shower to bath my 2 year old child. I have had mice for 2 years and they have ruined my sofas which were brand new when I moved in which I have never been reimbursed for I was told to put mouse traps out which is defeating the object they will not send pest control out. My box room window will not open, fence panels broken was told when I moved in they will be replaced still waiting 2 years later so my child can't even play in the back garden as it is now too dangerous. I have asked to be released from my tenancy and they threatened me to pay £690 to put THEIR property on Rightmove. Their is so much damp and mould in the property where I have been at the hospital with both my son and husband and they turned round and said just spray mould spray it's condensation the amount in the property is ridiculous it needs a damping course I have now got the council involved as the property is actually unlivable and the council have confirmed this to me. I have reported to the complaint team at Jones and Chapman and they don't even care. If anyone is to rent a property avoid and if a properly comes up on Halcyon Road Birkenhead avoid.

Absolutely God awful, now I understand their terrible reputation.
After my partner had finally got rid of their domestically abusive partner she tried to remove them off of the tenancy, so the police could ensure they had no rights to visit the property.
They refused to do so, as there was 6 months left on the contract and the situation was explained that the person had also left of their own accord and moved property.
After a stressful (ONE) month of payment being late for two weeks, they'd hassled her constantly (whilst pregnant and being aware of this prior) and were paid they then hassled her to renew the contract for another year despite the situation being explained. She advised them her situation is unclear at the moment as she was awaiting results of her PIP assessment. (Again a situation they were aware of).
Once she had got back on her feet she paid her rent, and also paid up for a few more months rent in advance to ensure she was at least covering her contract term.
During this period she advised them of a list of repairs she would like to be complete before she renewed as they hadn't been done despite being promised when she first moved in.
Two months before her contract is due to renew, they've told a pregnant and vulnerable person that the landlord has decided instead to sell the property conveniently after they'd been advised of repairs they've failed to complete.
To top this all off, weeks ago they were asked numerous times by another letting agency as well as us that they were to send references to our new to be landlord.
They seem to have avoided this until last minute, in which they have then given an "unsuitable reference" to the landlord. (Only issues that have been raised were the one time rent was two weeks late).
Oh, and let's also mention they renewed a tenancy without consent of either the tenant or the guarantors with the abusive partner's name still present.
So thanks, Jones and Chapman. Your reputation as a terrible provider of over-priced, worn down accommodation is now clearly well merited.

There are so so many aspects to this review, I have had some bad landlords in the past but nothing as bad as this branch.
I was in my property for 3 months before I had to move out because the council put a probation order in place due to it not being suitable for living. (Through hazards in the property)
But I handed my keys back on the 19/06/23. (Rent wasn’t due till 23/06/23)
Almost two weeks after I received an email to say I was in arrears. After chasing it up the branch hasn’t even done the paper work to state I have moved out! No documentation has been done at all.
Now I have to wait even longer to receive my deposit back. When they are at fault!
They are self centred and don’t respect the customers.
Jones and chapman maybe okay as a whole but this branch, give it a wide birth and find one which has morals.
There’s so much more to this story but that’s a brief insight

Unfortunately the same thing has happened yet again with this branch. Book in for a viewing at the earliest possible time. Then get a phone call the day before the viewing to say someone has viewed and had an offer accepted.
Spoke to the branch manager, John, who said they only have 1 viewing Clark, and they only work part-time. This means they can only do viewings on very few days.
Awful customer service, and goes hand in hand with when I almost dealt with them for a mortgage

Honestly, absolutely awful. Tried to up rent payments by £110 with 2 weeks notice and refused to acknowledge that this is illegal until the whole building complained and they finally gave the legal 1 months notice. No one ever answers the phone and if they do they are very rude. Complained multiple times about the state of the apartment and was ignored every single time. Just absolutely awful and I can't express the relief I feel now that I am away from them. Trust the large amount of terrible reviews this branch has received.

There is a reason why these are the cheapest estate agents and it is because they offer the worst service. Staff are rude on the phone, if you actually get to speak to the person you are calling. They even put my property back on the market without my consent. I suppose you get what you pay for which was bad communication and poor service.

My experience with this branch was terrible. Unprofessional staff. I drove for 80 min to view a property to find out no agent was there, called agency 16 times but no answer despite them confirming the viewing 2 days prior. Left 2 voice messages but no one even picked up the phone and call me to apologise atleast. If there was less than 1 star i would give it

I'm relocating to Merseyside for a new job. I booked a viewing for a flat (on Canning Street in Birkenhead) to let over the phone and thought everything would go as normal from there.
Me and my partner drive for over an hour to the property and arrive at 12:15pm (the time we booked the viewing) and there wasn't any realtor there. We wait for around 10 minutes before calling the Jones & Chapman Prenton branch. Six calls, no answer.
Finally we get through after trying to call the sales team rather than the lettings numbers. The woman on the phone abruptly tells me the realtor is on their way and will call me when they arrive.
15 more minutes go by and still no sign or contact. The realtor is now either 30 minutes late and hasn't bothered to contact us, or just isn't going to show. I call the sales team again (as lettings still won't answer) and somebody else tells me they will 'probably' just be running late (over half an hour by this point), I insisted she took my number and asked the realtor to call me ASAP to confirm where they are, which she agrees to do.
Yet again, 15 minutes go by and still no sign or contact from either the branch or the realtor. Me and my partner decided to just leave by this point. 45 minutes after we had booked for a viewing.
Three hour round trip for nothing. I wouldn't mind if they just said the person wasn't going to show and apologised, or explained that there had been some mistake, but they just kept fobbing us off, and quite rudely as they did it!
Currently writing this review at a family member's who live nearby, it has been 90 minutes since our viewing was booked for and they've still not bothered to get in touch!
Not normally one for writing reviews, but had to share this poor experience with this company. Would not recommend to anyone at all.

A while ago now so I hope they've improved since then. I rented my enormous and beautiful Grade II listed flat out while I went travelling and they advertised it with only the following words: 1 bed flat, bathroom, kitchen, living room, small hall, no pets. And included a photo of the compost heap instead of the massive 200ft gardens. It remained empty for 4 months. Went to Clive Watkins they put a lovely brochure together and found a tenant within 24 hours.

Just bought our first house and all I can say was the service from our advisor, Antony, was exceptional.
From start to finish he was a star.
At the beginning he sorted us out a mortgage even though I doubted I could get one, then, even though I was happy with that, he tried again and got an even better one with a better rate.
I wanted to get the sale done in 6 weeks so I've pestered the life out of him, got him to chase people and generally been a pain. And not once was he phased. He was quick with answers and advice and the whole thing went smoothly mainly down to him

I know estate agents have a bad reputation and can often fib for a sale but after living in my current home for nearly 7 months, that I bought through them, I can say that all the advice on the streets and areas was 100% spot on. My agent was Dan, being a single Mum, moving to a more deprived area from which I was used to after divorce, I was very concerned and anxious about it all. He was so kind and helpful and really did try his best for me and my kids. He made the whole experience so much easier on me. The area is not perfect but it’s not forever, and it was definitely the best that I could afford.

I'm a first time buyer and was told to be weary of estate agents. Jones & Chapman far exceeded my expectations.
I arranged two viewings for a property with one agent, after I put my offer in she left the company, but the handover was so smooth there was no disruption to my purchase.
The seller was reluctant to do anything the mortgage company required from the survey, so Edward at this branch took matters into his own hands to get the sale moving, I was so pleased with this. I really felt like he was on my side when the seller was being stubborn, especially around price and getting extra surveys done.
At times they can be slow to respond to e-mails, but when important information is needed they do get on it quickly.
It was a really smooth experience and actually one of the least stressful parts of buying my first home.
If they have the house you want, go for it, you will not be disappointed by their service.

They manage a property for us over the last 2 years, and its been one thing after another , Causing us a HUGE Amount of stress !
The last tenants Jones & Chapman failed to get them to resign the lease after a year and then they moved out early & the property was left empty for a while , after I had been chasing them or months.
The main Issue at the moment is the property is 5 months in arrears !!!! Jones & Chapman have been collecting rent and not allocating it to the account leaving our bank account WELL overdrawn !! Basically they are ILLEGALLY withholding funds !! not paying us the rent that they are holding in their own accounts earning interest then still having the cheek to charge us management fees. I have been tirelessly chasing via phone and email
We love over seas and pay a large amount of management fees so that they can look after the property for us , But they cannot do the basics

I have spent considerable time speaking with a different estate agent, explaining a complex situation to make sure they fully understand my requirements and provide the right solution for me.
As soon as the property went on the market I received a call from Jones and Chapman enquiring how my viewings were going. It was a blatant attempt to try to rattle my confidence in my chosen agent, but I didn't mind the call, I appreciate it's just business.

Today I received another call from someone else at Jones and Chapman with a similar pitch, asking if I have any viewings today or tomorrow. Again trying to unsettle my confidence in an agent who have taken the time to understand my needs and requirements.
1 call is fine, but 2 in 2 days takes the piss.
You'd get more respect from me if you put more effort into the top of your funnel to win your own business rather than trying to steal business from competitors before they've even had time to prove themselves.
For this reason I will never give my business to you.
