Keenans Estate Agents were recommended by a friend who had just sold with them. We booked an appointment for a valuation. George arrived on time. He was friendly and knowledgeable about properties and their value. He suggested a price & said he was confident that we would achieve the asking price as there was nothing locally that offered what our property had. We went into their Accrington shop to see if the rest of the staff were as good as George. They were very good so we signed to put our property on the market straight away. A nice young man came to take photos within a few days. We left viewings to their staff. A bloke called Chris showed people round , and then he gave us feedback. Our property sold straightway for the full asking price. We were then transfered to Kieran in the conveyancing team. Keiran rang to introduce himself & he explained that not a lot happens for several weeks, then it was about 6 weeks before we started getting intermittent updates on the sale progress. Around week 9 we received more regular updates . We had left a few messages but didnt not receive call backs. On week 12 there was a miscommunication so we went into the shop to speak to Keiran in person. We were not happy that our calls had not been returned. Keiran apologised & said that he had not received the messages. He went to the trouble of ringing our buyers solicitor and sorting out the issue immediately and managed to secure a promise to exchange contracts that week. We have been very pleased with Keenans estate agents from the first enquiry as to their services to completion on week 14. They are a young , enthusiastic team who certainly know how to sell a property. We would highly recommend Keenans Estate

Keenan’s recently handled the sale of my late mum and dad’s home. They were efficient, friendly, professional and sensitive, given the circumstances. Communication was good and they found a buyer very speedily who offered the asking price. Completion took a little while but not due to anything related to Keenan’s rather the buyer’s solicitor. poor service by keenans.
When i attempted to do a deal on a house, I went back and forth and I asked what would their final offer be on the house, and I was told I would get a call back.
After about a week of nothing I called them for a update to learn it's already under offer!
They went behind my back and done a deal with someone else whilst I was in negotiations with them.
I was a serious buyer with solicitors ready to be instructed and a mip in place too
As for selling a house, their rates are too high and good luck getting a response from them.

Wanted to buy a house they were the agent for.
I made an initial offer which was rejected which is fair enough and i walked away.
I got a call to say they have reduced the price and they would consider my offer.
I asked them what would they seller realistically take for me to buy it and I can complete quickly on it too.
When chasing it I was told the house is already under offer!
Back stabbers
Buyers Don't bother using them as their rates aren't the best
And sellers good luck.
Letting rates are ok not taken the plunge Letting them manage my houses.

Lewis Usher at Keenan’s has been exceptional. Right from the very beginning he has been proactive, available to talk, quick at responding to emails, professional, friendly and dedicated.
Overall I am extremely happy with the outstanding level of service provided by Lewis. One of the biggest reasons for me is Lewis has made a conscious effort to keep me in the loop throughout the process and offered invaluable advice and support for what became a difficult transaction. Lewis was on point at all times, was very knowledgeable, kept abreast of what was going on, wasn’t afraid to step in when needed and often went above and beyond to make the transaction move along to completion and remove the blockers. He was honest and transparent and I trusted Lewis which made the process a lot easier for me and less stressful.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Keenans to anyone looking to sell their property. From day one, they ensured everything was done to the highest possible standard, from their onboarding process, to the photos and adverts they put out for my property.
Despite some complications with the sale, they kept me updated throughout, and nothing was too big of an ask. A special mention to Lewis Chilton who was on top of the sale every step of the way, providing updates the second anything changed.

We did not feel supported by Ella. We constantly had to chase everything and felt she never pushed anything forward. She was off work on two occasions and did not respond to e mails in a timely manner. Alicia supported us on one occasion when Ella was off and she was brilliant. We felt that driving sales was not one of Ellas strengths.
We have sold and bought houses over the years and have never felt dissatisfied with an estate agent previously. I would never use Keenan's to represent me in any future sales or purchases.

We purchased our first home with Keenans and also sold my parent's property a few months later. I can't honestly say I'm happy with either dealings.
The gent that showed us round our new house was a bit arrogant and didn't seem to know what he was talking about in regards to the area.
Kieron though, was very helpful and kept us informed with how things were panning out, but that's as good as it got.
The valuator that came to my parent's property was friendly enough, but was so quick and wasn't realistic with the valuation. We put it on the market for a lot less than he reckoned and it ended up proving us right in the end.
On the day of signing the contracts, I received a phone call from Keenans asking if I'd taken all the carpets up and removed them from the property. This hadn't been mentioned before, but apparently our buyer wouldn't sign unless they were gone. Keenans had zero sympathy and told us we needed to get them removed ASAP.
Fast forward to when we put our house on the market, we actually phoned Keenans to come and give us a valuation. Another company came in a week before Keenans could, so we went with them, but were then bombarded with calls nearly every week asking how things were going, which reeks of desperation.

An odd estate agent. We viewed several properties with them as first time buyers. Some staff were really lovely, however others unfriendly and rude. One time, we asked if the agent minded us taking a few photos of a house we were viewing with them, the agent said he did mind actually because there were people living there. We respected their privacy obviously and didn’t take any photos but still found it odd considering we would have made an offer and there were photos on their website/rightmove.
When we did make an offer, one staff member was rude about the offer we put forward, “you are aware there are multiple offers higher than this already” well no obviously I wouldn’t be aware of that because I’m not an estate agent.
Furthermore, they were difficult about arranging viewings outside of work hours. Baffles me that they want people who are high earners qualifying for mortgages but won’t accommodate viewings around working hours.
Safe to say we didn’t go with them in the end.

People on benefits have to provide a guarantor which is ridiculous and unfair, as most people on benefits are less likely to have that, the rent gets paid the same as if you were working so policy that makes no sense. Worst estate agency I been dealing with- from start to finish. Massive rotation of staff, lots managers “of managers”. Whole company structure is a joke- nobody is responsible for anything.
Opted for full managed service as landlord. They haven’t inspected property, nor checked tenants, they been collecting money and thats it. Tenants trashed newly renovated property and left unpaid bills. Cannot get deposit back, communication is poor- this looping for 5 months now. I will be raising a dispute with my legal team to deal with those cowboys to get my money back as have full trace of evidence (if will not get money back). Been nice and polite, but enough is enough. Advise to Directors and senior staff- reduce your staff, you don’t need dozens of managers who do nothing. Even Keenans employees admitted that lettings side of business is struggling due to internal issues. Please don’t ask to contact you to resolve those problems as I am contacting you every day.

Of all the businesses or services I have dealt with since moving to the north west Keenans are by far the worst, most arrogant, most unproffesional business I have encountered. My house purchases was unecessarily stressful. You cannot ask questions as you won't even finish your sentence. Someone will guess what the question is before you finish it and jump down your throat with an aggressive attitude. Not once but over and over and over again. Asking to speak to a manager will not help as they will not ask you what your enquiry is, they'll just carry on the agggressiveness where the previous person left off.
Twice they had accepted offers from me but kept the proprties on the market. They are always on the phone asking you to up your accepted offer just in case someone else comes along. Yes, that is right. They actively enourage gazumping.
Speaking to one of the owners at first seemed helpful but after his softly spoken reassuring voice nothing would change. Even on completion day someone shouted at me and put the phone down and refused to talk to me.
I can some these people up in a single word. Obnoxious.

I called up about a house last week that I wanted to buy in cash and I found the exchange so bizarre and comical I had to write about it. A gentleman answered the phone, any questions about the house (or alternatives) were met with sighing, rude responses, abrupt and one word answers. I also wasn’t allowed to put an offer in on the house, basically because he couldn’t be bothered to do his job.
I will say that I spoke to another chap the week before who was nice and helpful and I’d been hoping to speak to him again.
However, with this other gent, If you’re selling a house here, keep in mind they won’t push to get a better price for you or even show you all of the offers.
Have a look at their reviews, seems the glowing ones are from recently made accounts with no history to them, almost as thought they’re writing them themselves.
People that operate with this sense of entitlement amaze me. Where does it come from? I guess that attitude to life is why the polite person in this exchange is buying houses in cash and the rude, obnoxious person certainly isn’t.

If I could give this estate agents minus 5 star review I would. They are the most unprofessional agents I have ever come across. We were messed about for 7 monthson the sale of a property. The final straw being when they advised us to take an offer on our property without the correct due dilligance in their part. We waited 3 months before finding out that the buyers mortgage in principle was 6 months old and the buyer was actually unable to buy the property as she was unable to get a mortgage. Absolute joke of a place. We saw a house online that got listed Friday night rang first thing Saturday morning for a viewing for asap, we asked to view Monday but was told they arnt open on a Monday so arranged to view the property for Tuesday, couple hours before due to viewing we got phone call to say house sold on the Monday bare in mind they wasn't open Mondays I questioned them asking how it could sell when the estate agents where closed the reply was who told you we was closed on a Monday we are always open apart from bank holidays. So basically we lost out on a house for no reason.
We went for a viewing on another property few weeks back, we was first ones in to view and we was being shoved out of the door before we could ask questions so they could get more people in to view. We put an offer in and before they even passed our offer on to vendors they wanted us to send them our proof of deposit in the bank, I get mortgage in principle but not bank statements, our offer wasn't even accepted so they shouldn't of been asking for confidential paper work.
Another house we was looking at just as we sold ours, the seller of the house wasn't taking anymore offers but Keanans took it upon there self to ring our estate agents who was selling our home to see what position we was in for buying even though the other vendor wasn't taking anymore offers.
I just hope our forever home isn't being sold with Keanans cause I really dont want to have to deal with them. Total waste of space!!

I advised to be 100% sure as I will be going back to my solicitor and pulling out of the purchase of another property. They said yes Vendor is 100% going with you.
Called my solicitor to arrange everything and start proceedings only to get a call from Keenans 15 minutes later saying "oh we've just received another offer" and then trying to get me to increase my offer.
I'm sorry; I don't care what the law says about what's technically legal, Estate agents should do more to promote honesty and promote vendors sticking to their word and not play the game. If you want to wait for more offers, then fair enough, wait until you are totally satisfied, but don't agree the sale to one buyer only to revert afterwards for a better offer, and then say "nothing is legally binding until contracts have been exchanged".
Keenans will blame the vendors for not keeping to their word after agreeing a sale but I believe they don't do enough to promote this honesty to their clients and they choose to play this game to increase their commission, and in the process play with people's feelings
My advice - find a better agent...
Update: - To top it off, I receive a letter through the door a week later confirming that my offer has been accepted by the vendors and to bring my documents to my nearest Keenan's branch. I immediately thought "this doesn't sound right". I called Keenan's who advised the letter had been sent in error. What a joke of a company!!!

A bad attitude when you view a property and decide not to buy. The agent had no knowledge of the property and just stood there and did nothing to promote a possible sale. Not very good at selling the property to a prospective purchaser !!! Won’t be using them to sell ours.

We rented a house through Keenans Accrington over 3 years ago now. I’m leaving this 1 star review now as today I discovered that they had written a fake positive review using my husband’s name to display on Facebook. I was looking at the history of the old village we used to live in and just happened to stumble across their post with a photo of the house we rented. To be honest, we didn’t really engage much with the estate agents during our tenancy. We dealt with the landlord directly after 6 months (or 12 months, can't remember!) who was fantastic! It was only when we were moving out that we had to deal with the agents doing viewings which wasn’t a pleasant experience from what I remember.
The agent would knock the door once and before I had a chance to get to the door (my baby was quite young then), he’d already had the key in the door letting himself in. Another time, the agent just showed up with people for a viewing without telling us they were coming beforehand. No respect for the current tenants whatsoever! Anyone with a young baby will know how massively inconvenient it is to just show up without warning! I did feel bad for the people coming to view the house but it’s the agent’s fault they couldn’t come in!
The house was then sold and the new owners thought it would be okay to keep popping in whenever they wanted, but only because Keenans said it was okay. I had to phone them up to remind them that we still legally lived there until our moving out date & they couldn’t do that, so couldn’t they just wait until we had left which was only a few days away. Thankfully after that they left us alone in peace to pack up and leave.
I wasn’t going to bother leaving a review but after seeing they had written a fake one from my husband (he would never say all that stuff they wrote), I felt I needed to leave an HONEST one despite it being 3 years later! Are agents even allowed to do this? Dishonesty at its finest!

Horrendous. Unprofessional, bad communication and do not follow the law. They took instructions off a person that did not own the property. Did not advise me when offers had been made on the property. Did not send me documentation that was needed and just blamed other members of staff when something went wrong.
They got information wrong on the booklet that could have affected the sale of the property adversely and didn't collect all of the keys for the property when the sale eventually went through. Disgrace!

I have used Keenans now for over three years for purchasing, selling and letting. In all three sectors I have found the customer service extremely professional and personal. The descriptions and imagery are second to none.
The letting team were very professional and caring in finding the correct tenant for my property. Once the tenant was found the process and paperwork were finalised extremely professionally.
The knowledge of the market place is the best I have come across, they are realistic in what can be achieved. I also highly recommend the recommend law firm Alexander Grace Law, again all questions answered, process was smooth and prompt.
I highly recommend Keenans, a true family run business. Putting the customer first.

I couldn’t have asked for more, this is a fantastic estate agents. The staff are extremely friendly, especially the stunning lady Cree who dealt with me and delivered exceptional customer service. The office has a professional, yet relaxing vibe to it - just what I needed as looking for a house becomes quite stressful. Do not use this company appalling service. I booked a viewing 3 days in advance at a time that suited keenans, I travelled from London to Blackburn. And got a call a hour and a half before the viewing to cancel. Very unprofessional service.

As I was walking through clitheroe looking for an estate agents I came across keenans. So I popped in all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I was looking to sell my house and move into the ribble valley. I will only use keenans as they were very up to speed with the information they were giving out on the houses I was looking at. I would not use this company, I had a valuation and was constantly pressured. I had letters, phone calls almost weekly even a xmas card it was relentless. I explained as I was on my own I needed time to think about things but it made no difference . I can only describe this company as bullies. I went with a different company and saved over £2000

I am not really sure which office I should be writing this review on as it has become apparent they lied about having an office in Blackburn! From little research I believe this is 'head office'.
I can only describe this company as a set of bullies!
My Mum and Dad who are in their late 80's had their house online with Keenan's for almost 12 months. They decided they wanted to change to another company and after telling Keenan's they were harassed, bullied and threatened with legal jargon. They were getting in excess of 20 phone calls a day from different people in their office. People were just turning up to view who couldn't afford the house and openly told my Mum and Dad that Keenan's had told them to just view it as my Mum and Dad were desperate.
They have now changed company and have sold the house. To which Keenan's have still tried to charge them for.
Do not use this company!

Didnt do a good job of selling my house the first time , their answer was reduce the price , but took it off the market for 6 months , put it back on and they sold it within the week without reducing it further which they wanted to do .
