From summer that I kept applying for houses or flats to rent in Worcester needing to move from Hereford,most of them being under Leaders.I have been refused absolutely everytime ,first because landlords won't rent to me as i have a small child,i wonder all those 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom houses who rented them if no childrens were allowed, then several landlords wouldn't rent to smokers even if I wouldn't have smoked in the house,all this while I was working full time,in September I became a full time student,therefore my need to move,they continued to refuse me if I didn't had a guarantor ,finally sorted the guarantor ,now they refused me because I had an Debt Relief Order. Someome should actually look better on how this letting agency works because all I had from them was a permanent discrimination .... Read more

Been renting with Leaders for many years and with very few issues. Any issues that we do have are swiftly dealt with. Tierney there is brilliant, she is on the phone whenever we need her to sort any issues and she always checks back making sure we are OK. Over Christmas we had a problem with the boiler and last minute she was rushing around making sure we had heaters etc over the period. Stay clear of Leaders agency – a masterclass in incompetence and greed! From the moment you sign their lease, you're in for a relentless onslaught of hidden charges and absurd rent spikes. In need of assistance with your flat? Good luck! They're as helpful as a screen door on a submarine. I've endured this dump for over two years, and every cry for help falls on deaf ears. The only time they'll ever contact you? When they want to bleed you dry with another rent increase. They're relentless – emails, calls, texts, you name it, all designed to wring out every penny. And their 'maintenance'? What a joke. They send this ancient handyman whose only skill seems to be smearing silicon on every surface. It's a slap in the face to any tenant expecting actual repairs. The agency is a farce, completely devoid of professionalism or tenant care. Leaders are leading in only one thing – being a complete and utter disaster. Bought the property through leaders so thought of renting it for first time through them as well. My dealing was mainly with Lauren in the beginning , then Alice and in the end with Thea. They explained me what needs doing to the property before renting it out and did everything I was told to and they had a look at it all and in the end Thea made it sure that it all goes through smoothly which it did. Thea did take that extra mile so that the things don't get delayed. Alice has been wonderful and so has been Thea in the end. Also the other staff members have been helpful. Honestly the worst experience as a Tennant during my time with Leaders. They protected my deposit with TDS however failed to send a copy of the certificate. The complaints made in 2016 before I knew how cowboy this company way, were made mainly via phone call, which they have now happily ignored and pretend that those complaints do not exist. Once leaving the tennancy they purposefully did not liase and begin discussions about deposit returns until 60 days after, then once the initial offer was refused by me took a further few weeks to come back to me again, meaning any formal disputes would be too little too late. When questioned about their shortcomings and negligence I am told issues would be looked into yet have since found nothing yet has been done, nor have they offered contact details for complaints and customer services. Honestly overall this letting agent will happily take on half whit cowboy landlords, leave Tennant's in a broken down and unsafe home and in the end refuse to take any responsibility. I had originally given Leaders a 5 star review based on how helpful, efficient and responsive they were when I moved into my flat. However, I feel that once I had signed the tenancy agreement, everything since has been rather slow going. Whenever I have needed something, i.e any help with maintenance issues or permission for anything at the property, I have had to chase and chase for a response. It took a week and a half for them to acknowledge that I had handed in my month notice for the flat by which time I had had to start packing before they asked to send a photographer round for the virtual viewings and were slightly disappointed that there would be boxes in shot (although I did still make an effort to hide these away for them). It also took three attempts to get the photographer in due to the loss of the spare key (for contractors) so I then had to be in to let the photographer in. I left the flat three weeks ago after absolutely blitzing the place (and cleaning it to a better a standard than when I found it) and have also had a little bit of trouble trying to find out more about the situation with my deposit and the overpayment of rent I had to make when I didn't hear back regarding my notice. I would just find it helpful if I were be kept updated and responded to without chasing as the amount for the deposit and the rent overpayment is probably a small amount to the company and my landlord, however it's quite a large amount for me to be without.... If you need maintenance done they are very quick to sort the issue out. Most notably Katherine who has always been quick to contact me with any issues and is very kind. They have an non deposit option with a very affordable fee which is extremely helpful as a young renter. Their fees are very reasonable too. There are quarterly inspections but you don’t need to be present for them if you can’t make it. I rented a lovely 1 bedroom flat in the centre of Worcester for a year that was clearly well maintained and a good price for how spacious it was! Overall, Leaders performed very poorly. They took far too long to sell an empty house with no chain. Tried to get too much money and then missed an opportunity when it did arise. Ultimately, the selling price was probably below par because we didn't want further delays. "Talked a good game" but did not communicate regularly with vendors. They were not proactive and we eventually communicated directly with the buyers to clear matters and make things happen. Seemed to work more on behalf of the buyers than the vendors. I think they are more interested in letting properties than selling them. A fixed fee might stop them trying to get a higher selling price and concentrate on the customer's sale, rather than their extra profit. Unfortunately, a lot of estate agents are the same!!... Very laid back. They do the things in the end but not very efficient, overall costs you more money and one, whick no one will pay it back to you. Fantastic agents to let off!! I have been with leaders for a good few years when they took over from premier places. Any issues I had, leaders would sort it right away. I found that all my inspections were carried out correctly and I trusted them that much I would be at work whilst that attended the property. Sadly my landlady sold the house but leaders were fantastic in keeping me in the loop. I was lucky another landlord brought the house so I am still in my lovely home. When leaders arranged viewings they gave me plenty of noticed and worked around myself and my son. Then when we found a property we wanted, we filled out all the forms and were told we would hear back later that day when they’ve spoken to the landlord. Leaders in Worcester are a bunch of lairs! Laura told my partner that because she was in the house for over 7 years (never missed a payment) and left the house with only a very few marks due to a little "wear and tear" that this will not affect her deposit at all! however when it came to getting her deposit back they were charging her £40 for a small sticker on the wall, £100 for few little marks on the wall, £60 to tidy garden (nothing wrong with the garden at all), £82.22 for cleaning even though it was spotless £40 compensation to the landlord for small bit of blue-tac on the kitchen floor! we would have sorted all of these small marks for less then £6 but we was told we didn't need to by Laura - we then got a horrible email from Andrew saying we owe £322.50 from our deposit - even though was agreed we wouldn't need to pay a penny - it has been over a month since we questioned this and still have not received any correspondence - I will be going to the property ombudsman about all of this. In this day and age it’s refreshing to meet a professional young man in Estate Agency Sales who really listens to your questions and answers them in a very honest and down to earth fashion. Not a BS merchant who dances around the truth. No one liners. Just how it is. Steve was able to educate us with facts and figures on the particular buoyant rental market in Worcester assuring us of finding tenants on a buy to let scenario and how proficient Leaders are in this area with huge members of staff looking after rentals. Worst experience of letting in my life, they allowed me to rent a property knowing fine well it was on the market, within days people were coming through the flat once or twice a week for 6 months, breaking my door latch, tramping mud throughout the flat, leaving my door unlocked, leaving lights and heaters switched on draining my electric, no respect whatsoever for the tenant(myself) who were living there, luckily I have let another property from a reputable agent as the flat has now been sold and I would be homeless. I moved out of a property rented through Leaders over 9 weeks ago and despite being a perfect tenant for years I am still waiting for the return of my deposit!!! I have had a member of emails assuring me that the transfer would take place, but I'm still waiting. When I call there never appears to be anyone that wants to talk to me - always, "out of the office, but will get back to you". Calls are rarely returned. I have waited a few weeks until I have settled in to the property before writing this review, allowing me to carefully consider this without writing a review in the 'heat of the moment' I very rarely write reviews, but felt strongly enough to do so in this particular instance. To summarise the service provided by this branch (I therefore cannot comment on Leaders in general) was extremely poor. I should add that both the tenant (me) and the landlord had a poor experience of Leaders Worcester as the mediator. Essentially, communication was limited, poor-timed and misunderstood. The most pertinent example includes me emailing the office 3 days before the identified key release date simply asking if there was anything else to do in terms of documentation. The response was that I simply had some documents to sign on the day of release. However within the same day a centralised application service then contacted me to completed a particularly lengthy referencing process, including evidence of my current employment status, contacts for HR representatives and landlines of previous landlords (even though they don't use a landline!). It was difficult to gather such information in a short space of time, whereby I could only complete this the day before the key release. I was then informed on the day of release that this could not happen due to references not being returned. The centralised system only contacted my HR department at 16:30 the day before key release. I was then informed at approximately 11:30, the day of key release that they would have to postpone until 4 days later due to not receiving my references. This was highly inconvenient due to my existing tenancy ending with the next 3 days. To summarise, I was technically homeless for 6 days and Leaders Worcester still dated the Tenancy from the initial date of key release. During this process I was even contacted to provide feedback here and 'if possible to leave a 5 star review'. I would have liked to have given zero if possible. Having committed some thought to this now, I will be exploring a formal complaints mechanism through the appropriate Ombudsman service.... Read more

Property choices - Amazing! Communication with the negotiator - Great! But then all goes downhill from there im afraid. Culmination of the story was receiving tenancy agreement and deposit invoice TWO HOURS before the office closes day before the Bank Holiday (the day I should receive the keys), then making my friend wait for HOURS as some documents were missing or incomplete by cental office. Everything seems to have been left to very last minute and even when prompted about contracts weeks before the move in date, nothing was done ahead of time. Lucky I was available on the day of the move to sign and transfer moneys immediately, God knows what the story would look like if I was in meetings, driving or even worse - mid-air! After having a random scroll through some of the reviews I feel I must add my mixed review and defend some of the excellent members of staff that are now part of the Leaders group. I had been a House Lets tenant for a number of years, and couldn’t fault them. Extremely personal experience with a lot of honest advice offered and never felt like I was just ‘another tenant’. So when I found out last year it had been bought out my Leaders I was a little worried, however life goes on so I just went with the flow. Fast forward a year or so.. a few minor issues with Leaders, such as never getting a response from a phone call I made a week previously, maintenance issues seem to take a while, and no one in the office ever seems to want to talk to you when you call making you feel a nuisance! However, I have recently had a property inspection with the girl I had dealt with at House Lets, this being my first face to face dealings with House Lets staff since the change over; and what a refreshing change that was! I assumed she had flown the nest however she had been on leave. She was as polite as she was the first time I ever viewed the property, chatted to me, asked how Work was etc, remembered mine and my partners name, asked how the boiler was, recalling a minor fault it had two ish years ago. She made the whole inspection feel comfortable and not like I had to put a fake smile on and rush it because it was more hassle than worth. Although it was obvious she had other places to get to, I didn’t feel like another person on her list that day. This made me realise a couple of things... I took my original agency for granted, and the personal approach doesn’t really exist anymore, secondarily, some of these members of staff didn’t chose to work for Leaders. They’re good people and capable of doing a good job, however they’re now told to conduct in a different manner, or are overworked and rushing things. These members of staff don’t deserve to all be tarnished with The sketchy reputation Leaders apparently hold by reading these reviews. Renting from leaders was one of the worst experiences of my life I would not recommend them to anyone. Advanced warning for anyone who rents with them they try and take money from your deposit but if you fight it they don't fight the dispute. Constant lies received from start to finish, numerous unreturned calls and emails apalling customer service. They also have a habit of pretending not to be in the office when they clearly are. EDIT Deposit now received back in full there's a surprise! Glad that's over with. PS we've tried to complain before and it was ignored so won't bother wasting any more time on this company.... Only putting one star as can't put none. What a useless company. Never experienced worse customer service. To start with when we viewed the property they didn't even have the right key to get in. I had to climb the fence out the back! When we moved in, the work that was promised to be done hadn't even been started. We had to battle for 2 weeks to get the electric fixed in the bedroom so our 4 month old son could go into it. Had to wait well over a week til the shower got fixed when it packed in without a bath. Front door was cracked and noted with leaders but nothing got done about it. To top it off, because of their incompetence, at the end of our tenancy they took another months rent and tried to tell us it was owed, but then low and behold when someone actually pulled their finger out I got it refunded. Money taken off the deposit for stuff that was already stated on the inventory, (by this point we were past the point of arguing anymore). We have family and friends currently experiencing the poor service that leaders have to offer. Thankfully we are no longer with them. Do not go with leaders, they do not care about you at all....
