I very much enjoyed the more than 10 years during which Andrew Barnett of Major Son & Phipps was my managing agent. I always felt we were a team and working together to achieve happy tenants and a good return. Sadly, he spoiled me so that I was not prepared for other managing agents in other parts of the country, who have made me feel that they, not I, came first and that I was somehow subordinate to them and had to accept what they were prepared to do.

We rented out a Richmond property through MS&P over four years and through two tenancies and always found them professional and responsive, and think that our two successive tenants did too - they both renewed and then only vacated because of changes to personal circumstances.

We did not have a good experience with this agent. We complained but weren’t listened to & unfortunately I believe a lot of these reviews are probably fake. The issue lies with Richard Winckley, who appears lovely until it serves his interests to be quite different. We discovered at a later date rather huge defects in the apartment we were buying, but instead of apologising Richard became quite forceful & verging on rude as he kept insisting “you would have been told.”. Of course, we weren’t told, but apparently he wasn’t happy about that so pushed the blame onto us. He apparently couldn’t remember who told us or when while he insisted it must have happened. It was quite an interesting conversation. We’ve also heard other things about him among respectable Richmond residents who were equally unhappy with how he conducts himself when he believes no one is watching, but won’t go into details as it’s not our place to. This is just our humble opinion. We would avoid in future. Lovely staff but would benefit from new management.

I've had the pleasure to work with Lisa on finding an apartment last summer and I cannot be more happy about how she handled the whole process! After 8 Months in the tenancy, I can say that this agency was extremely professional and responsive. They sorted all my requests in no time, and with great care!

Have just completed the sale of my flat in Richmond. Major Son and Phipps made it all possible from the original description and photos right through to arranging for someone to clear the flat of unwanted stuff. This is all the more impressive since I had moved to Spain.. They were happy to explain things and execute changes on request, all achieved through the magic of email. The impact of the COVID-19 lockdown seemed to be the last straw but they cajoled and coaxed both parties through to a successful conclusion. Excellent!
