Aleksandra Sawa from Martin & Co (Cambridge branch) was great throughout myself and my partner's process of finding a flat in Cambridge. I would 100% recommend her to anyone trying to find a flat in the area.
She was always clear in communication, polite and willing to help answer any of our questions either on the phone or by email, and even gifted us a gift box of drinks and snacks when we picked up the keys for our new flat!
The only issue we had throughout the process was a bit of an extended wait (a week or so) between paying our holding deposit and receiving the full contract to sign. However this was resolved quickly after a phone call to Aleksandra. Thanks Aleksandra for all your help!

Some of the agents on the phone are extremely passive-aggressive and not helpful at all, they wouldn't even let me finish a sentence and would just jump straight in with their British passive-aggressiveness. I understand that in the UK it's apparently ok to act like that but I thought Cambridge is an international city...

I rented a property through Martin and co for a year. I only have good things to say about every step of the process. My property manager (Tyler Auld) was efficient and very personable. As a tenant you can often feel like an estate agent is working for themselves and with just the landlords interests in mind, but I really felt like with Tyler / Martin and co, that as a tenant I was very well taken care of. A rare breed of estate agents in this day and age!

My family and I have been looked for properties for sale in Cambridge for almost a year. It’s quite difficult bitting ever offered quite a lot higher than the listed price as always quite a lot buyers interest to good properties in Cambridge. Our first offer to a property A from Martine was rejected almost 6 months ago which the vendors have emigrated to the other country. We reconnected with Martine in an opportunity through a view of property B. We asked if vendor of property A still interested to sale. The agents from Marine, particularly Joe & his colleagues, relayed our message to the vendors and fortunately got a positive feedback. We started our purchase procedures since May2023 and completed in Sep2023. Throughout the process, Joe has always gave clear and repaid responses to our enquires and assistant. Though there’s time different between the vendors’ side and UK, Joe managed everything effectively and it definitely helps the progress. Martine & Co Cambridge is definitely recommended for buyers/vendors of Cambridge properties.

I have rented my house through Martin and Co since 2017 and them to be very professional and efficient. They always found me tenants quickly and managed some occasional tricky moments very effectively.
I then put the house on the market in March of this year and chose Martin and Co as my agents as they already had a good knowledge of the house. I had a steady stream of potential buyers and it as marketed at a realistic price. In particular Joe Hood who was handling my sale was very helpful and prompt in sorting out queries and viewings and once I had a buyer he kept me up to date with progress as I now live overseas. Buying and selling houses is always stressful and Joe was able to put my mind at rest and negotiate effectively on my behalf so that today we completed! I am very happy and pleased to highly recommend Martin and Co as both letting agents and estate agents.

Finding a house was so easy and simple with the Martin & Co team. Eleanor has managed the contract & property paperwork and Sarah showed us around the property.
Both were hugely helpful and kind, including organising an extra visit to the property so we could double check we were happy with it and do measuring up for furniture. The receptionist was abrupt and disinterested. She took my email address so that they could confirm the appointment for valuation and I immediately started getting spam from them which made me feel tricked. After the shop manager did the "valuation" I was told he didn't know right then what my flat was worth and would get back to me later that day. That was two weeks ago.

Had a great experience with Federica Petrocca who walked me through renting my first apartment in the United Kingdom after I moved from abroad. Highly recommend, very professional and friendly! --Edited: 5 to 1 star, had horrible mold constantly that was untreatable due to rising damp, I spent hundreds of dollars trying to clean and constantly had to wash and dry everything(ex. I went on holiday for one week and came back to mushrooms growing under my bed and had to throw out mattress and bedding), had multiple emails ignored, landlord was completely absent and unreachable, he messed up some renovations so my power was cut off for a week, then when I moved they tried to keep my security deposit because of the mold! Awful

This is probably the worst letting agency I’ve ever dealt with. The end of tendency move out process was absolutely brutal. A month after I moved out they refused still to respond back to my emails regarding my deposit. I’ve had to go there several times myself pursuing responses from the Property Manager. Their failure to respond to my emails and their lack of customer service really speaks to their unprofessionalism. Please avoid this place and this property management team by all costs.

I rarely write reviews, but we used this agency to look for an apartment and Sarah -the viewings consultant- was just amazing. Professional, knowledgeable and kind, showed us the place in detail, she was writing down everything that she thought the owners should take care of, or needs further discussion which we really appreciated. She cared to understand and help us figure out if the place is well suited for our family. We followed up with her and the team and they replied promptly all of our questions. We have seen a lot of agents during our house hunting but she was by far the best. Would totally recommend.

Anyone looking for a house to rent will know that the rental market is hideous at the moment! We had the added challenge of needing to relocate from one city to another so were unable to attend viewings easily and with an eight month old baby in tow it added a whole other set of challenges!
We were so lucky to find Sarah Beedle at Martin & Co who really took her time to help us find a house suitable for our family. Other agencies weren't even taking prospective tenant's details but Sarah went above and beyond to help us. She would take time to call us and check in and remained wonderfully human throughout what can often be quite a cold and transactional process.

Martin & Co is in a totally different league from the previous two lettings agencies I have used. When I was looking for a new agency, Matt stood out as he was so friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. He made sure that the transition from the previous lettings agency, with whom I had had many problems, went smoothly. My property manager of the past couple of years, Shavonne Harris, is fantastic, acting upon emails immediately and even going out of her way (literally) to help. She clearly has a good relationship both with the contractors and my tenants, which gives me peace of mind that my property is being well looked after.

I’ve been with many other estate agents in the past but never been so let down and unhappy. They are highly non-accommodative to any requests especially if you are tenant. They find ways to take huge deduction as they can from your deposit.
Due to unforeseen reason I had to vacate the property in 6 months than my years contract. I was penalised heavily for it and was then told “there was no break clause on my contract”. TRICKED!
BEWARE- they will trick you to make longer contracts. (Picture attached)

I would highly recommend you use them over any other letting agencies in town, who appear to think of their customers not as clients but as money machines. Martin & Co show it's really not that difficult to have happy customers in the lettings business - reply quickly, behave professionally, and treat your customers like like real people rather than a source of revenue.

Eleanor was excellent. I rearranged several times because of travel disruptions, but in the end my wife and I visited the property and loved it. It is here that Eleanor excellened. She negotiated with the landlord, called when she said she was going to call and emailed when she said she would. She was reliable and entirely pleasant. I find estate agents intolerable, but if only more people like Eleanor join the industry, there is hope for what is otherwise no more than a necessary evil.

Waisum was helpful, informative and friendly. Any questions I had and all the emails I sent were all responded to and answered. Any time I'd call, he'd either be there to respond or get back to me. Very grateful I found my new apartment and he was there to assist.
Upon moving in, any issues I experienced were resolved quickly and professionally by Amelia. She's been great, friendly and efficient. I couldn't have felt more comfortable in my new home without her kind and helpful responses and actions.
Price wise, cheaper admin fees than most companies in Cambridge and all fees have been explained thoroughly. No hidden costs (that I've experienced anyway). Very grateful to have found them.

I moved all my rental properties from Belvoir to Martin & Co. Simply, the team at the Cambridge office are fantatstic and there is a very low level of staff turnover unlike other agencies. I would particularly praise Matt who is the branch manager and Waisum who is the senior sales and letting consultant. I am a very demanding individual and they always deliver. Martin & Co made my move from the USA extremely easy. The move-in process was rather quick as well - I was in the house within 2 weeks of viewing the property. Matt and Waisum were extremely helpful and responsive, and did everything they could to get me out of the hotel I was staying in and into the house ASAP. This is possibly the most hateful experience I've ever had renting a property. Not only have I been subjected to lazy and apathetic estate agents but have dealt with being trapped in my own shower not once but twice, only to be blame for their incompetence. I don't ask for much, just to be able to shower without fear of getting stuck. I don't have roommates - its a studio flat so its not a case of being an inconvenience or something; its a death trap. My flat is unsafe and will be unsafe for the next poor sod that rents from Martin and Co. I cannot speak strongly enough when I say that the service is shoddy, the staff are haughty, rude, and truly care about one thing; money. If you want to be taken care of by your estate agents and treated like a human being not a piggy bank with legs, don't go with Martin and Co.
