As first time buyers it was truly an eye opening experience into how stressful buying a house could be, whether it be being told they will put the house back on the market after only been given a week to get some quotes as the house had some problems with it or having to deal with some members of staff who seemed a little inconsiderate at times. Two people who were great, very helpful and friendly were Lucy and Stephen so thank you to both of them. Overall I was just happy to have it all over and done with.

I was a tenant with Martin Nad Co Grantham for over 3yrs.. I gave them 1 star die to repairs in the flat took forever to be processed. I left the flat on the conditions they requested sent pictures hoping to get my deposit back which I didn't, I left the flat it has damp walls which was not treated on time, window that won't open since day one took till th ended of my time there to fix a leaking sink in the kitchen.. I feel robbed by my deposit.. they charged me for redecorating a flat that is unfurnished ???

Found them extremely unhelpful whilst enquiring to look at potential lets, wanting to move into the area. Would not recommend, we had bad experience locally with Martin and Co also, so it's likely an endemic issue inside the company with poor staff and dreadful customer service. Would look elsewhere as a tenant.

Dealt mainly with Becky and Kimberley (Viewing) and found her to be more than helpful on a few occasions.. even persuaded the landlord to put my moving in date back a week because of the notice period on my old flat. An unenviable job in a fast paced environment where you need to have 6 hats on at the same time. Deposit with the DPS, communication was swift and concise and I've been in a week now. Becky is a true professional and her team made a daunting transition effortless.. Thank you.

I went to Martin and Co to find me a lodger for my room. Although they found me a good lodger the process has been awful. The lodger moved in yesterday and I'm still waiting for the rest of his payment to be transfered to me.
I have emailed and phoned the office so many times only to be pushed from this person to person. I have spoken to Phillip the director who is currently on a boat and does not care now as I have paid my invoice for the service they have provided . Today they have informed me that they policy won't allow them to make the payment to me. I think its shocking considering this is the first time I have used them. They advised me to get my lodger to make the payment to me directly even though he has already paid them and then they will refund him how is that fair. All they have done is come up with excuses as to why they can't make payment. I will be taking this further.
There is no policy on this earth that says you hold on to a clients money that's been paid to you in error. I am so disappointed in this company.
I have spoken to around 4 different people in the grantham office and still I'm waiting.
I even texted Phillip the director who apparently is the only one that can make payment. I have paid £354 for a half done service. All I want is this resolved and the remainder of the money transfered to me. They owe me £200
If you want a good service be it a tenant or a landlord go somewhere else.
They don't respond to emails or when they say they will call you back they don't. You would assume they would want to build a good relationship for future business but apparently not.

I was a tenant in a property managed by Martin &Co Grantham office for over five years and found them to be very fair, helpful and responsive. For the latter part of my tenancy I mainly dealt with Becky, and when gave my notice she handled the viewings and the return of the deposit very professionally. Even though I was moving on I still felt like she was looking after and respecting my interests. It was exactly how I would have wanted to be treated.

If 0 star was an option that’s what I’d do.
When I first viewed my property they made me wait over a month to move in because they were ‘deep cleaning’ and ‘redecorating’. When I rang them they hadn’t done any of this, I was waiting a whole month for no reason, for them to ask me if I wanted it cleaning and decorating, I ended up saying no because I was sick to absolute death of waiting to move in after paying almost £900 deposit and first month rent. And now that I’ve moved out and been told I’m entitled to get every penny of my deposit back, they’re ignoring me, I’ve emailed them SIX times in the last 3 days waiting to hear back from them, if I don’t hear from them soon I’ll be thinking of other actions I can take to make them actually respond to me. If that’s court then so be it, I will not be losing this property that I’m planning on moving into because Martin and Co can’t be arsed to reply to their customers. If I still don’t receive my deposit in the next week then I’ll be naming specific people who have made my life miserable by lying and keeping me waiting and stealing.

Awful agency and staff! Moved our key collection appointment twice, second time even without asking if it’s fine with us.
Wasted time, holiday and money because of them!!
Rude and unprofessional staff. They moved the first appointment so they could have more time to take pictures and clean the property, and on the day we’re supposed to collect keys, they still don’t know what time we can pick them up and tell us the property is still not ready!
Wish I read all these reviews prior to choosing this agency.
Absolutely do not recommend them.
Would of gave them 0 star if there was an option.

Very unprofessional and incompetent company.
They have rebooked the appointment for pick up of our keys on 2 separate occasions. The second time round they have emailed us on Saturday morning notifying us that the early Monday morning appointment is now being moved to a late afternoon. As a result of this I've lost 2 days of holiday and money that was paid to a man with a van. When I rang the branch the manager offered absolutely no help.

Tenant for many years through these unprofessional agents. Would not recommend to tenants or landlords.
Lied to on numerous occasions, told by the director when questioning an increase in rent pay it or get out. My landlord was mortified when she found out.
Sent a credit control reminder for an invoice that had never been sent to me and when I queried it never received a full reply or an apology, but never chased again.
Reported issues to them, but was far quicker ringing my landlord directly as they simply sent an email to the landlord and didn't appear to chase until I chased.
If you are looking for an agent to manage your rental property keep looking.
If you are looking to rent be warned as if you ever have reason to speak to the director he will try and belittle you.
So we are clear my rent was always paid on time and I remain on good terms with my landlord and purchased the property from them.
I am so relieved that I do not have to deal with these agents again.

I am very pleased with the service I have received from Martin and Co from the beginning of my application for my rented property to present. The team are always very helpful and accommodating when I have a query about my property, and immediately inform my landlord of any questions or problems I have encountered. Infact on one particular occasion I had a problem with my shower and from the initial call to the contractor arriving it was only 2 hours . Had a wonderful experience with Chloe at Martin and Co. Being a first time buyer there was a hundred and one things I was unsure on and didn't know. After contacting Chloe regarding a property, not only did she take time out of her day to go through the property details etc with me, she also went through all the questions I had and information I would need to know in regards to first time buying. We applied to rent a property,paid the fees waitind for the due date but the actual tenands were still there,we had to wait a few weeks until decided to look for another agency because the house was still in use!!!! Don’t believe any of the 5 star reviews, these were clearly done by staff to try to get the overall up!
Absolutely terrible customer service! The state of the flat I started renting from them was disgusting! And despite getting a report from somebody just prior to taking the keys which said “needs a good clean”, there was a thick layer of grease over every surface in the kitchen, all extractor fans are caked in gunk, the banister leading upstairs was covered in spilt tea and food, and the building is all around awful.
Even when agreeing a move-in date, they forgot to agree a time with me for the handover so didn’t put it in their diary, I only found this out as I rang them to find out why I hadn’t heard anything, just days before I was due to move in?! Nearly lost £150 on a moving van due to their mess.
Gave them a list of things that were an issue and wanted to know what would be done, like the fact that the oven had no markings left on it so you couldn’t what setting you had on anything. Or the fact that the aerial sockets don’t work in either room so I have no tv to be able to watch. Weeks later I chased them up, as I’ve had to do every single step of the way, and only then did I hear anything about it. Still no aerial though, after a couple of months of being here. Bet they’d have been straight on the phone if I hadn’t paid my rent though!
I will never make the mistake of using this company again, and I feel angry at myself for having given them the benefit of the doubt after reading some of their bad reviews.

Absolutely the MOST horrible, unprofessional, lying, cheating Estate Agency I have ever in my life dealt with. Dawn and Lucy mislead us throughout the purchase process for nearly two month and ending up not to complete. Anyone with healthy rational thinking would not deal with them even if they sell your dream house! Avoid if you don't want to end up with losing money and being lied to. Trust me on this matter, there are many other much much better Estates to go with.

We were 2 people on the contract, the other guy leaved the house and I can't afford the full rent by myself but the only person who they charge is me and saying that I should pay only by myself the full amount of rent and now I am the only responsible for all the charges.
First they told me the landlord cand go down with the rent but after I paid 2 months told me they will take full rent from my deposit.
I tried to talk with the landlord but they didn't give me his number or even his name.
I asked for the CCTV video when they told me I will pay less but told me they cannot provide this.

They lied to me and made me paying only by myself for a 3 bedroom house told me I would pay less but after 2 months they changed their mind saying lies. I also needed to pay an other 180£ fee for the house to be on the market even if wasn't my fault that the other guy leaved.
I rented one house from Martin&Co with an other guy. That guy leaved the house and I told them I cannot afford to pay the rent, they told me now all the responsability for the rent is mine and if I cannot leave it because they will charge me. After a while they told me I can pay 40£ less as the landlord said that but after I paied an other 2 months told me they will take this 40£ from my deposit. So that guy leaved the house and nobody cares about him and I should pay all the rent by myself even I don't afford this. Not happy with their service and they are not fair at all with tenants.BIG LIERS.

Martin and co have just marketed our brand new HMO in Grantham. Chloe visited the house and within one week we were marketing our property. Within 10 days all 5 rooms were let.

I have just moved in to a property with Martin & Co Grantham. I cannot praise them enough for all they have done. I was extremely nervous and asked a lot of questions. They were helpful and eased any concerns I had about moving home. I am so happy with my new home and know that if I need anything they are only a call away.

I recently used Martin and Co when looking for a new house share in the area. Chloe dealt with me every step of the way and the service couldn't of been better. I was tight to a time frame and they accommodated that along with updating me every step of the way. She was friendly and helpful with all of my queries. Along with loving the house now I'm all moved in, which is finished to a beautiful high standard I couldn't thank or recommend Martin and Co more. They will be the estate agent I always use in the future and want to thank them for their fantastic customer service, expertise and help. Chloe went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and even since moving in to the property had checked everything is okay.

Absolutely useless. Arranged a viewing was told we would receive a call to confirm. Never received a call and when we phoned to find out we're the agent was (20 mins after the arranged time) we got told we was suppose to phone and confirm and that no one was coming out and couldn't get anyone else out. I took the afternoon of work missing out on half a days wages for this company to mess me about. Avoid this useless team/company!
