While I didn't end up buying from McMahon & Partners I was impressed by the three properties that Udith and Toby showed me. Each had been cared for well and were in premium condition, some of the best I had seen during my search. The agents were both friendly and communicative without being aggressive or pushy. My only constructive criticism would be that not all details are always listed (e.g. service fees) so do ask upfront. I would have no problem recommending them to someone on a search for their new home.

The receptionist / admin team is very lovely and does her best to help, so firstly I want to say thank you and that's the only reason for the additional star.
That being said, from my limited expereince with this firm, avoid like the plague. Appear to be very umproffesional, dishonest and rude.
Tried calling for two days; promised a call back, which was never received, until, I explained that I am acting for the Owner of the Property they are managing, whom had advised me to get in contact with them and they wouldn't be best pleased, knowing that I received no cooperation.
Was apparently very rude and aggressive to my colleagues whilst I was out and had attempted to suggest that he (I believe his name is Mark) had been called several times. For clarity, I called only twice and would have been onyl one, had the person kept to his word and called back and no, I don't wish to send an E-mail, which is why I am calling.
All I can say is, if I'm a Landlord / Vendor, that wouldn't give me much confidence; especially if they can't even take a two minute call. How will they be able to let / sell your property, if they don't seem to have the capacity to take a basic call.
I will be relaying my experience to the Landlord; so I would suggest next time, not to be rude to my colleagues and lower your attitude.
The matter could have been resolved very amicably, with the right attitude.

The day before the delivery of the flat, I hired the Cleaner service which used to perform periodic cleaning service there. On the next day, day of delivering the flat, I invited Camron the employee of McMahon to make an inspection with me but he told me he was ‘out of time'.
Since the beginning our agreement was that I would receive the holding deposit in up to 7 days. Then after 11 days without they answering the phone , I had to go back to London just tu solve that. Finally they charged me in £810 to clean a fla that was clean and even more they accused me of stealing things from the landlord without any proof of that. THEY aren’t trustworthy.
I DO NOT recommend McMahon & Partners to my family and friends or anyone!!!

Sean and Camron are nice and helpful, but the property manager, whose name has been mentioned by another 1-star review, isn’t. When my door lock was not working, I reported to her repeatedly and she keeps ignoring it, I know it wasn’t just she didn’t check her inbox as in the meantime she has time to ask me accept viewers when I couldn’t even lock my door securely. Seems to be much more interested in getting new tenants then the health and safety of an existing tenant.
Tenants just be reminded that the property manager will be a different person from the very nice salesperson you met during your viewing. Looking from other positive reviews I guess it could have been a 5 star experience if Sean or Camron is the property manager who I have to interact with most of the time, but sadly that didn’t happen.

Would give no stars if possible.
Not very professional, arrived late even though the distance between the flat and their office was only 120 yards.
I booked to view a 2 bed flat to buy and was shown a 2 bed flat to rent - how can you get that wrong.
The receptionist was not interested in providing any customer service.
Sent two emails in the morning to ask if it was possible to change the time to an earlier time - no reply.
Speaking to the negotiator and it seems they don’t care as they are too busy.
Don’t expect any customer service from this agent.

I wouldn’t recommend this company. Unfortunately, I have had a horrible experience and I’m afraid I am facing discrimination. I went to view a property which I loved I sent over my passport and offer which was the asking asking renting price. I then was getting stringed along to find out apparently the house they had on market is being sold and now all of a sudden they will not be going forward. This is very disappointing that prejudice and discrimination are still going on. Would not recommend at all.

Working with McMahon & Partners Ltd (M&P) was great. They were always quick to respond to our emails about issues in our flat and to provide assistance. Nothing ever lingered, everything was normally fixed in a timely manner, and the rare instances where issues were resolved over a few days were normally due to the availability of the contracted help. We actually had to move from the building and M&P had find a potential tenant who could only move in just prior to the end of our lease (3 days or so) so M&P offered to cover the cleaning and repairs. Lastly, we enjoyed working with Louise Castle. She was amazing to work with, very prompt to respond and work with us. This is a great managing company.

Sean was incredibly helpful when I was in a tricky situation with less than two weeks to find a new flat. Sean showed me around suitable properties that matched my criteria and when I put an offer in, he negotiated my ideal price with the landlord. I haven’t had a worse experience with any realtor, actually with any professional. I was asked to turn up for a viewing at one property, once I arrived I was told to go to another because of an error. Okay, I went there to be told that Jak (the negotiator) won’t be able to conduct the viewing because “someone” had messed up and double booked him. Still okay. Instead of offering a simple apology, he told me they had let out all apartments in the area and that it was my fault I travelled an hour to get there. But it went further and descended into random abuses, much of it racist. I was astounded. Not okay. No. Just, no.

I stayed at one of McMahon's properties for two years and had a very positive experience. Anything we asked of them was handled in a very swift manner. Louise and Jasmine were the two people I dealt with during my tenancy - they were always very friendly and accommodating.
The only problem I had with McMahon was at the early stages, when we were still working on securing the tenancy. I dealt with a person named Jonathan, who made the initial process rather difficult by insisting on what I felt were unfair conditions (he wanted us to pay 6 months at a time and wouldn't allow us to use a guarantor; he told us that we'd have to buy our own couch when other employees said that they absolutely provide a couch to all their tenants).
Despite the early difficulties, our overall stay was incredibly pleasant and I'd happily recommend this agency to prospective renters.

They have asked me 3 or 4x now to write a review so I am doing this at their request. I unfortunately have nothing positive to say as a tenant and want other prospective tenants and landlords to know that my decision to leave my flat was 95% driven by terrible experience with this agency (5% by a noisy neighbor which the agents refused to do anything about), and my flat search for a new place was filtered to ensure I wouldn't have to risk renting from them again. From the beginning there were issues with the agents. Starting with move-in day, they failed to get the flat, which had been unoccupied for several weeks, cleaned in advance, and couldn't give me access until late in the day even though I had already scheduled movers. Upon arrival, they had not replaced the mattress, which was a stipulation of my tenancy, so I had to sleep elsewhere. Never received compensation. Also quickly discovered that only 2 of about 12 lightbulbs actually worked as they failed to replace them in advance. The boiler also didn't work properly from as soon as I moved in and it took over 3 weeks in early Feb, the coldest part of the year, to get it sorted, after several patronizing comments about how I must be the problem. The issues only continued over the next almost 2 years. I won't list everything here as it will get boring but a 1-star review is entirely warranted. They are super unresponsive, requiring multiple chasers to even respond and often never getting back to you at all. They only work strictly like 9-5 Monday - Friday so if you ever have an issue outside of that - even an absolute emergency (i.e. my sink leaking due to a hole in corroded piping) - it won't get picked up. And when it does you can't expect a solution any time within a week as they will just take forever to respond and sort out someone to come round. But the worst is when they send people in to the flat without giving notice. On numerous occasions I would arrive home and notice the door locked in a different way, dirty footprints, and/or pee on the toilet seat. Note I am 1 female living alone so it is extremely disconcerting to come home to that especially late at night not knowing what's going on. The best public service I can do is warn people not to rent where this agency is involved as you will only have issues as a tenant. Landlords should also be aware that in case they want to use them as agents that the tenants are going to have an awful time which will hurt your renewal rate (and also pricing, as people like me will run as soon as possible and you'll be stuck mid-pandemic unable to increase the rent on re-let as you can barely get anyone through the door).

My wife and I agreed a purchase price on a property. We agreed the furniture /white goods that would be left/purchased by us. As we had agreed this, we advised our buyers that we would leave them our white goods and some furniture. Mcmahon and partners continued to market the property without making us aware of this, and we were gazumped. We now have our house sale in progress, have had to start looking for another house, and will be out of pocket as we will have to purchase new white goods as we will probably not be getting them in the sale any more. Since this, other estate agents I've spoken to agree this is very poor form. Buyers beware. It appears that they only care about their commission.

The director of the company Sean McMahon has anger issues.
If you have any issues or problems, he is not going to read your email, nor going to answer you. I have complained about 251 development. The building has a structural defect, generating a loud creaking noise coming from everywhere. This noise is sometimes above 45dB, and its volume can be heard even with earplugs in. McMahon & Partners has ignored my complaint, and during my visits to their office, the director has shouted at me, ordered me around, and threatened that if I don't leave his office, he will move me. During his primitive episode, he has admitted that he didn't read my emails, and he is not going to. My problem is still unresolved after five months. I am going to have to involve The Property Ombudsman because McMahon & Partners’ most senior member is too ignorant to find a resolution to our case and doesn't contact the landlord as requested. Yelling at customers when they complain is never a great start Mr. McMahon.

(I have a proven record that the reply to this comment is not legit, I will upload the entire experience on youtube soon. On the note, the developer's company has dissolved almost two years ago, so they could never contact me. Also, I am filing a court case against McMahon & Partners right after The Property Ombudsman has finished its investigation against them.)

If you have a well documented issue they will ignore you, and call you a liar, even if you bring your case to the ombudsman. Sean McMahon is unprofessional and has no knowledge on customer service neither on tenancy rights.
My friend experienced a terrible 5 month long complain procedure, that remains unresolved.

Most of our experience was great. They responded quickly, were very helpful, made it easy and efficient to find the property to rent. I really liked the agent who showed us the house and helped with the check-in process. He was professional, friendly, and helpful.
However there are few things that were less than satisfactory. Some people at the agency are a bit rude... when they were trying to book house viewing for people to view the flat, they didn't inform me about the exact information. I have to chase-call them to find out what time or if people are coming to our flat that day. - And they definitely were not as friendly as before when they were showing us flats :)
Also there was a damage in the house when we check in and I photographed it and emailed them to report it. However in the check in report they covered the damage with other things(so you couldn't see it) and didn't put it in the report after I informed them. And when we moved out, the damage is now our fault... when we show them the pictures of the damage we took right after check in, they responded that the picture was taken after check in so... now they are in our check-out report to pay for.... hmmmm
You can try this agency and I'm sure most of the services are fine. But like dealing with any real estate agency as a tenant, be smart...

Poor. Over 3 weeks I have expressed my interst in their apartments and had to chase them for information on them. Each time i have been asked the same questions which i have already provided and upon providing them get no response. Unresponsive and awful comunication from the director of the company too?

My partner and I have been looking for a rental property in SE1 for over 3 months. We were a bit apprehensive about letting agencies as we had previously rented directly from landlords and our prior experience with other agencies was subpar.??Our first interaction with McMahon and Partners was great. They took the time to understand our needs and recommended two properties - both places were the best we have viewed.

Enquired to view a property with McMahon and Partners but it was already rented ? However, they had a good understanding of the type of flats that I liked from the very beginning and kept us in mind for the one that we liked most. We got to view a property and our friends have now rented it out. Very happy with the service!

Racism... I think so. I am a decent citizen and have a very good job. I called this company and asked the room was available. The gentleman (Who said he was Sean McMahon) immediately said the flat was not available. An hour later, I asked my little cousin who went to country side boarding house school to call. A miracle, it became available. Rent at your own risk.

After dozens of problems during a whole year, most of them eventually fixed by ourselves due to their lack of interest, they left us and our 3-month-old baby with no lighting and not committing to fix it. Long story short, when we requested a solution their answer was “it is just inconvenient but the flat is habitable so you have two options: live there as it is and sooner or later the lighting will be fixed or return the keys and lose the rent already paid”. In other words, they kicked us out, who can live in the darkness, especially with a baby, and they are so “professional” that they don’t even bother to return our emails/calls regarding our deposit! Beware of these people.

I had an unpleasant experience when moving out of my apartment with McMahon. Several errors were made, incl.
- communication of an incorrect move out date causing confusion and additional work (and the tone of several emails was quite rude while the error was theirs not mine)
- having to chase for any information and updates (not proactive at all), e.g. regarding the checkout procedure and report
- having to chase several times for an update on my deposit and incorrect fees being added as deductions (which could’ve been easily corrected/removed if they had bothered checking against the rental contract)
- etc.
If they had been more polite or had simply apologized for certain mistakes it would have been a lot better.
