Although it took rather a long time for my property to sell, due to the present market, Michael Anthony Estate Agents persevered in finding the right buyer for me. Ben Hall our senior negotiator was particularly patient and understanding, especially after our first buyer pulled out close to exchange.
I gave 4 stars because after the first buyers pulled out I got pressure from too many agents at once to accept lower offers that I was not ready for. I would suggest going forward that one point of contact is enough, as this was quite a stressful period.

Please please do not sell your house with Michael Anthony Estate Agents! We have had such a bad experience with them. The sales team weren't too bad, we had quite a few viewings often with fairly prompt feedback. The problem arises when you're under offer and you're moved over to the 'sales
Progression team'. This team seems to be almost totally non existent. They appear to have a policy of not answering the phone - never in 6 months did they answer the phone or in fact ring back when you leave a message with a colleague to call you back. Email contact was largely the same - often there was an automated email response saying they were busy and will get back as soon as they can which is very stressful when you're trying to ask a quick question about a house sale or get an update because you're in a stressful situation etc.
Moving house is certainly a stressful time but I cannot emphasise enough how Michael Anthony estate agents made it far far more stressful than it needed to be. There is nothing worse than a total vacuum of information which is what we had.
I wrote a written complaint to the 3 directors which was never replied to. I had a perfunctory 30 second phone call from one director a few days later apologising and ensuring me things would improve. Needless to say they didn't.
In the end the only way I actually sold my house was by getting my buyers phone number, my vendors number and using the vendors estate agent to push everything through and navigate the process. It even got to the ridiculous situation where I emailed the estate agent to inform them that we had exchanged (they had absolutely nothing to do with the process) and inform them on the completion date. I still received no reply so on the day of completion I had to email again to say 'just so you know we are completing today'! How totally ludicrous.

A lot of people told me that Estate agents have no power in trying to accelerate a sale but this team provided a high level of support which was needed.

I just want to share my experience with Ben. Ben was amazing from start to finish. I moved over to Michael Anthony from a different estate agent, and the experience was great, Ben came out and used a fancy camera to take 360 view of the property which was a free service (not all estate agents offer this service) the pictures were top quality.
All of the individuals that viewed my property were very serious candidates and I had two offers on the property, unfortunately I made a decision that now was not the right time to move or sell, but I am so grateful for the service provided by Ben.
Ben regularly communicated with me & adapted his approach due to my busy schedule via email.

Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. I chose to sell my flat through Michael Anthony as I had heard good things from people who had used them in the past. My flat was on the market for 6 months and did not sell. I appreciate the market is tough at the moment but communication from Michael Anthony was the most disappointing and frustrating part. Not once did anyone advise me about my options when the flat wasn’t selling or mention reducing the price, that came from a different estate agent who was selling a property I viewed. It really felt like there was a lack of care and proactive approach. I felt that I was always chasing for feedback after a viewing rather than Michael Anthony letting me know. I called Michael Anthony to raise issues that I was unhappy about but nothing changed and I have since withdrawn my flat from the market. No one asked why I was withdrawing or seemed too bothered about it.

Tyler Clark has been instrumental in his professionalism looking after us and has gone above and beyond to make sure we see exactly the right properties, matched to our requirements and to our budget.
At no point has he ever put us under the slightest pressure or pushed for a second viewing, or to put forward an offer on any property we’ve viewed.

We recently sold our home with Michael Anthony and whilst they weren't terrible we agreed we probably wouldn't use them again, mainly for three reasons:
Firstly uploading the wrong EPC to our house listing (coincidentally for our friend's house across town) and not correcting it when pointing it out twice. It wasn't corrected for weeks in the end, even after they said they would fix it.
Secondly when I called and left a message (sales never around, always had to leave messages with lettings) that our offer has been accepted on onward property this wasn't passed onto our buyer so they understandably held off getting searches done. Finally found out they still weren't aware when I called 3 weeks later to find out cause of delay and had to get quite involved sorting it out. Which considering they also had contact from the estate agent of the house we're buying to confirm our chain was frustrating as they obviously didn't follow that up either to confirm chain was now complete.
Finally, related, it seemed like they hadn't fully done their checks on the chain below, as both EAs of the houses we offered on had to do extra checks to reassure themselves and commented that Michael Anthony couldn't assure them they'd seen evidence of certain things. Which might have been standard but both made a point of saying that which seemed odd.
We had a much better experience when we bought the house through them 5 years ago and to be fair found Kristina particularly helpful at the end, but it was frustrating feeling like we'd been treated better as buyers rather than sellers, given we were paying their commission as sellers this time round.

Michael Anthony sold our house in Aston Clinton last year and we received a great service from them from start to finish.
In December 2022 we were approached by a debt collector agency claiming that we owed a sales fee to a previous agent for the property which Michael Anthony eventually sold. We believed that this was untrue but didn't know what steps we needed to take to prove it. I can't thank and praise Mark Vosper enough, he really supported us and helped us to understand the processes we needed to go through in order to resolve this bogus claim.

I really can’t recommend Micheal Anthony’s enough. This was the second time we used them (first time we brought a property and this time we sold through them) and throughout the whole process, we were kept informed and listened to regularly. Lack of communication, very few viewings, always chasing, was really disappointing. Now in my opinion, its better to go with fairly new estate agents, as they in my opinion work harder than those who been fully established for longer time. The only reason why i am giving average review is because they managed to sell our house but it took 14 weeks to do so.

Having experienced significant issues with our solicitors terrible communication, Karen Mills in Sales Progression has been an absolute godsend. She has kept us informed with the progress in the background where we were getting no response from the solicitors. Having been recommended Michael Anthony by friends, I had hoped for a more positive experience than I’ve unfortunately had. Initial part of the process was great, with special thanks to the professionalism and help from both Tanya and Alex, but the handling of viewings was poor on occasion, with my requests being ignored and being left feeling like my house (and my wishes) were treated with a lack of respect. The sales and progression team have also been disappointing unfortunately. I wait days to get a half hearted response to queries and then am left in limbo with no actual answers and I’m left chasing again and again. Overall, I’ve found my dealings with them a mixed experience at best.
Update (Sept 22) due to buyer pulling out at the last minute after 6 months of delays, house is back on the market. Agent overheard during a viewing telling the potential buyer who was talking about making an offer, that he thought another property was better than mine!! I am speechless. Not really fulfilling his job of ‘selling’ my property.

I should have wrote this review sooner but we have finally settled into our new home. We started searching in January and fell in love with a particular property, however we were unsuccessful in purchasing the property at that time. We would like to thank Andy for his help and showing us around the property.
We then started to look at other properties and met Jack - we made Jack aware that we were struggling to find a property as we kept comparing it to the other property. He really listened and within a week - he phoned us to say that the property we loved was back on the market. With an hour of that call, our offer was placed, it was accepted and we received our conformation email. We will always be so grateful for Jack for remembering us and giving us that opportunity. Jack was efficient, polite and really cared.
We also want to say thank you to Karen for all her support during the buying process - we needed to be out of our property within 2 months and she helped with communication with the sellers solicitors. Thanks to Karen - we were in our new property 2 days before we had to leave.

This is our 3rd time selling through Michael Anthony and the 2nd time we have bought through them at the same time.
This time our move has had some challenges along the way but the team at Michael Anthony have been expert professionals navigating us through these times and always genuinely trying to do what’s best for all parties involved. In particular Andrew has been brilliant with us and supporting us from the start and along with Andy who was the upmost professional and kept us well updated.
Although for me Karen in the progression team was just a stand out star she was unwavering for us. Nothing was too much trouble, she was always one step ahead of us too, we actually would have been lost without her. She totally understood and empathised with our position and this really helped too.

Main complaints:
1.Aftersales team who ignore emails
2.Vendor informing EA sale had fallen through & not being told for a week
3.Not informing the vendor when I withdrew my offer
My partner & I viewed a property & offered in Jan 2020. We dealt with Sam Stone, he was fine at the viewing- apart from giving incorrect figures when we asked about ground rent. We had no contact after the offer & dealt with aftersales. Email after email was ignored until May when I received an email to say Vicki James had left. I got back in touch with Sam.
In the meantime, I sent a letter to the vendor with my number so we could work together. Everything unravelled in June when the vendor called and said her vendor was threatening to pull out if the process wasn't finalised ASAP. I worked closely with the vendor to push solicitors. Sam was aware.
I last spoke to the vendor on Friday & messaged her on Monday & heard nothing back. I tried on Wednesday-still nothing. I emailed Sam to see if he had heard anything, he said no & he would keep trying. Sam then emailed on Thursday night around 8pm to say he still hadn't heard anything & that he was going to be away for a long weekend & if any of his colleagues heard whilst he was away they would call me. I received no call. I called on Monday, Sam ended up having to take an extra day off. I called twice on Tuesday & he didn't call back. I called on Wednesday & was told he wasn't in. I asked to speak to his manager. I'm not sure if I spoke to his manager or colleague but I explained who I was & then he said "oh yes, your sale fell through last week" I replied I hadn't been told this & asked when last week did this happen. He realised he messed up and said he couldn't see when they had been notified.
Let's be clear. The two viable options are:
1.It fell through & Sam was notified before he went away but he didn't tell me
2.It fell through after Sam was on annual leave. One of the team was notified & couldn't be bothered to tell me
Whichever one it is, is completely unacceptable.
On a side note, the vendors vendor walked into their office & asked for a valuation & they managed to secure 40k higher. I don't have an issue with that, business is business. However the fact Sam's colleague tried to turn it around on the vendor by saying "she is really mad at us & is going to blame the whole thing on us but we didn't realise". The obvious deflection from taking responsibility for not telling me my sale had fallen through is ridiculous.
I then text the vendor explaining I heard what had happened & if she could keep me updated on if she wanted to still proceed & find another property that would be great. She was a nightmare vendor & if I could give her a 1* I would. However the fact a reputable business didn't tell me for a week the sale had fallen through is disgusting.
My partner & I decided we needed to look at other propertys & kept texting the vendor. Sam kept me updated even though he hadn't heard from the vendor.
We found a new property via a reputable estate agent & I emailed Sam on the 8 July pulling out. I stated I wouldn't be messaging the vendor & he confirmed he would.
I was surprised the vendor didn't message me to try and change my mind. I was even more suprised on 11 August when the vendor messaged me saying that she had secured a property and was good to proceed. I messaged Sam & said I don't know why the vendor doesn't know we have pulled out but I won't be messaging her. I got an email saying he had left the business and emailed the person in the message-Lewis Parker. He emailed me back very quickly saying he thought Sam did tell the vendor but will tell her. I received a text on 4 October from the vendor who had no idea we had pulled out. I emailed Lewis again and this time received no message back. I did text the vendor & told her. The way Michael Anthony & its employees behave is disgusting.
I'm aware two people mentioned have left, however I didn't randomly get the two bad apples in the company. It says a lot that Michael Anthony think this kind of behaviour is acceptable.

Its been a long time since we purchased our home through Michael Anthony, but hardly got time to write a review. Hardly can fault MA in anything. Honest, always reachable and very transparent in a time when everyone was rushing to complete. If you are a buyer and your offer has been accepted, they take the property off the market so there is little risk of gazumping, which I found was lacking with their competitors who were willing to show us properties even after offers had already been accepted. Its very difficult to find good agents who work both for buyers and sellers and Michael Anthony are one of them. Have recently moved from London to Aylesbury, found our new place with Michael Anthony on Right Move. Ben Hall was very professional in showing us plenty of options, always being clear about each one pros (region, amenities, schools, etc). Ben have helped us to negotiate a good price for it and we hit the hammer in late August/19.
Very happy to say our process went very smoothly, and after less than 3 months we moved in.
They've recommended a good conveyance company, which took good care of us. Rachel was instrumental in getting all parts chased and kept on top of timelines, since we had certain urgency to complete. I couldn't ask for more.
Having used other estate agents before, I can see how Michael Anthony is differentiated by looking at your case with care, instead of seeing you as just another sale. They've recognised this was a life changing event for me and my family and really walked with us through it, even after completion. The old owners have let a load of rubbish in the house, which they took care by sending someone with a van to clear it out for us.
So it was a very positive experience and, despite not thinking of moving again any time soon, if that happens, we'll defo count with Micheal Anthony again.

Selling a house is always rather daunting but we were recommended Michael Anthony a local agent.
From start to finish they were excellent.
Firstly by putting a fair valuation and organising an open house. This attracted lots of interest but these estate agents really do sort the wheat from the chaff. The original buyers pulled out and replaced by new buyers.
The cottage was being sold through probate and took ages but Michael Anthony managed our buyers over the 3/4 months it took to complete.
Within the last few days of completion Rachel really did drive this sale through liasing with all involved. Can’t thank her and Michael Anthony enough.

I have dealt with Michael Anthony for over a decade, having bought a property from them in 2007, rented that same property through them for 3 years when I emigrated in 2013, and finally selling that property through them in 2017. Accordingly, I have dealt with a few different members of both their Lettings and Sales teams, as well as a member of their senior management team. Without fail, all of them have been courteous, professional, knowledgeable, helpful, communicative, honest and a pleasure to deal with.
When you live thousands of miles away from your property, as I did, you need to know that you have people you can count on to give you and your tenants the best possible support and to ensure you get the best deal when you're selling or renting out your biggest asset. The team at Michael Anthony were the people I counted on and they didn't let me down.
In particular, Ella on the Lettings team and Rachel from Sales were my key points of contact and support. They both did an excellent job handling the many issues that arose and keeping me in the loop at all times. They were ably supported at key points by Helen, Lucy, Trudy, Becky, Mark, Adam and Andy, all of whom I had contact with at one point or other over the years. These other members of the team reinforced the impression of professionalism and service-excellence created by my dealings with Ella and Rachel. My interactions with Mark, in particular, set my expectations of the Sales team at as high a level as the Lettings team had already achieved. Needless to say, the Sales team vindicated his (and my) confidence in them, in their handling of the sale of my property and I thank them and the Lettings team for a series of jobs well done.
As humans, I know the Michael Anthony team must have made the odd mistake during the time I was using them. That said, after a decade of dealing with them and having scanned my memory and my email archives, I can't remember or find evidence of a single issue I've had with them. Given my occasional tardiness in responding to their e-mails, I doubt they can say the same of me.
To summarize, the team at Michael Anthony:
• Always gave the impression that they had my best interests at heart
• Did everything I expected of them quickly and to a high standard
• Provided peace of mind at all the key points of my buying, letting and selling experience
• Delivered this service at a distance, with me never having met any of the current team in person
• Delivered at a price which I consider to be great value for money
I can think of no other example in which I have experienced as good a service over as long a period, from as great a distance, with such a uniformity of quality across different representatives and departments. I can't recommend them highly enough, and as you can see from the glowing review in the paragraphs above, I really tried!

Overall, not impressed with the service provided while purchasing a flat. Michael Anthony seem to put the seller first and forget that the buyer is just as important. Could easily be accused of false advertising as the flat I bought didn’t even come with the key fobs to the front door!!! At £50 each, it’s not something you want to realise on your completion day! They refused to do anything about it and basically said it’s not their problem. Would not recommend to anyone for purchasing!

I have always found Michael Anthony to be personal and professional in everything they do.
When I first moved back to Aylesbury Michael Anthony was one of a number of agents I considered, Michael Anthony were the only agent to understand what it was I wanted and didn't try to push properties on me that weren't suitable.

Hi There, Well , We would like to make a complaint about lady called Ella from Michael Anthony, Aylesbury branch. We had an appointment this morning 19/02/2016 at 10:15am and we made a call to her as we will be 15 minutes late as we were stuck in London traffic. We called her when we were in the car & we explained to her we will be there by 10:30 & exactly we were there by 10:30 am & when we called her, We were standing outside the property with our 4 year old son & my wife was pregnant she was not ready to co-operate & she said you will have to come on time as we were 15 mins late due to traffic as we can't jump traffic & that before we had doctors appointment at 9:20am & we were called at 9:30 am & we were running late due to appointment & Ella should have told her that if u were running late then you should rearranged appointment for another day but we didn't get any type of cooperation or good advice or satisfying response from her & we travelled 1hour 15 minutes & we asked her we can wait for another one hour but it seemed as if she had made her mind up already & didn't try to re-arrange after 1 hour or send that lady(Lucy) after finish her worked & Ella's behaviour was rude & didn't seem co-operative at all. This was our first time visit with Michael Anthony & our experience was really bad because of this rude lady Ella. No one is that busy that they can't adjust or co-operate or rearrange after couple of hours. We have been & visited many other properties in the past but have never been treated this we didn't notice any good customer service at all from her . Even she didn't bother to give us exact flat address in her confirmation call or mail & I asked for flat address where to come. I am absolutely disappointed with Michael anthony's customer service by Ella. We don't think we will recommend Michael Anthony to any of our family or friends who would ask for good estate property agent. I wouldn't recommend after we got really bad experience by Ella. She even didn't bother to say if you would come late then better come some other day & don't come today . If she would have said this way then we wouldn't come today. but she didn't say anything & the way she sounded we felt she is really rude & not co-operative at all. we wasted our 3 hours time to come there & come back. Ella you really let us down by your very unprofessional behaviour in your job . We came from Wembley central to Aylesbury & we went without having a look at the flat.
