Richard definitely knows his stuff. A recent valuation appointment of our house meant choosing Northwood was the obvious choice. Compared to other local estate agents, Richard stood out due to how interested he was in our home and it's saleable features. It was clear that he had also done some detailed research on current house prices in the area so as to build confidence that the price we are going to sell our house at is both realistic and achievable. Getting viewings booked was simple. It's handled online with email reminders.
The application process was done in a few hours over email and through a referencing service. As self-employed director I had to connect my bank account, upload payslips and get my accountant to fill out a form which was easy enough.
The handover process has been painless. I got my keys and a goodie bag! I've been emailed my tenancy agreement, all the certificates for the property and a detailed inventory which I've needed to check.
Jade has been particularly helpful with quick responses to any queries I've had and I'd recommend working with Northwood in futue.

Was going through with the purchase of 4 Allerton Grove LS17 6RD. Karen Jakubovic was my sales coordinator through Northwood she was really helpfull throughout the process and kept me well informed. I required additional documents from the seller due to past subsidence issues and Karen was very responsive in going back and forth. She did go the extra mile to try and move things as swiftly as possible. Ultimately the property failed the valuation due to on going subsidence so i did not proceed with the purchase. Good learning experience £500 down for the structural survey but nevertheless cant say anything bad about Northwood and lovely Karen.

It wasn’t easy getting a property here in the uk but I will give it all to Daniel and Northwood for ensuring that finally I and my family get a very nice place to stay.
Knowing that it is our first property renting in the UK, Daniel made sure he get a befitting place in terms of location for easy access to public transportation and also for a good school for my kids.

We rented a property with Northwood during 2021-2022.
We had really bad issues with damp and mould on the upstairs ceilings and windows, water dripping into electrics etc. Was so damp it started to ruin clothes and shoes.
We reported it so many times but they dragged there feet with the issue and blamed us for it. They claimed the mould and damp was from condensation due to two people sleeping in the same room...
Over 6 months passed since reporting the issue and they installed a bathroom extractor fan and somehow thought this would fix the issue. Nothing changed and had to constantly chase them up and call them regularly for them to even acknowledge it. A few months passed and they sent a guy to look in the loft and inspect the area whilst we were out (still don't know if anyone actually came). Apparently he moved the insulation around and spread it out more but this did absolutely nothing.
Fast forward a few months and they started ignoring emails and calls. Had to get a solicitor involved and threaten legal action for them to eventually accept defeat and they ended the tenancy early.
So Id avoid renting with them and avoid the property on Hopes Farm View.

I had a very bad experience with my previous state agent (dp) and was sceptical with Northwood initially. My experience with Northwood has transformed my view of the state agent sector as a whole - there are poorly managed ones but also excellent ones, such as Northwood.
There is an excellent professional team at Northwood, from the initial valuing (Adam), to management (Jade), the accounts team (Peter) and many others who I have not dealt with directly. I was informed at every step of the rental process and advised and assisted accordingly (obtaining landlord insurance, electrical condition report etc). Peter at the accounts team emailed me at 6am the day after receiving the tenant payment to inform me the fund is coming into my account the next day with a breakdown of itemised bills. All documents (inventory with detailed forms and photos, electrical condition report, energy performance report and contract etc.) were sent to me in a timely manner.
With my previous agent, I received few formal documents and had to routinely chase rental payment (after the tenant informed me they had paid one or two weeks prior), I found dealing with Northwood is such a fresh breath of air and extremely impressed by their professional conduct and excellent service!
I would highly recommend Northwood to any tenants and landlords.

We use Northwoods to manage our rental property and they are absolutely Fantastic! Property manager, Daniel Russell, manages the rental for us, and the service has been over and above. We are first time landlords and his knowledge and management of our property has made the process so easy and pain free, even when the inevitable bumps in the road happen. Assistant manager, Adam Ford, has also been so incredibly helpful, we are constantly asking for his advice about the property market in the area and he again has been a pleasure to deal with with invaluable advise. I had a nightmare 6 months trying to find a property to rent. Some of the other well known agents were horrific to deal with no feedback and having to chase up the status of applications etc. Genuinely left me feeling like i didnt deserve to rent the property.

Northwood let out my property over many years. In that time they helped me with repairs and renewals needed on my home, allowed me to make changes to our agreements and always found excellent tenants for my house. Whilst I won't give more details on the above here (they are personal), I'd happily give anyone reading this some more detail.
They (ie the Chapel Allerton branch under their manager) have been exceptional. Having used another letting agent before them, Northwood stood out as being everything the previous agent wasn't.

I cannot rate the service we have received from Richard enough on the selling of our property. The service has been exceptional throughout but especially when our first buyer pulled out, two months in, with no reason. An open day for viewings was scheduled straight away and our property was back on the market within a couple of hours. We ended up with 18 viewings and were SSTC again, with an even higher offer than before, less than 2 weeks after we went back on the market.

One word "PROFESSIONALISM!" at its best. I was anxious about securing a property before coming back to Leeds and they helped me a lot. Most estate agents I emailed or I called them for the properties they were presenting on the Rightmove and Zoopla were barely responsive on my requests, if it exists at all, and I'm talking about nearly over 30 emails I've sent to different estate agents for various properties on the market if you could imagine that. on the other hand, Northwood responded back on my request right away in a matter of a few minutes on the same day after expressing my interest of one of their adverts on a property. The process was so smooth, they were so patient with my queries and they were keen to explain everything to me, also I was really delighted with the quick responses to my emails within their working hours. I highly recommend them and I would like to give especial thanks for Andy & Lottie for helping me throughout the process. Kudos for you guys and keep the good work!

Very quick responses during our tenancy, very accommodating during Covid in terms of safety. They don't micromanage the tenants, so long as tenants give timely notice of issues and take ownership of reporting maintenance issues. Could be more proactive with addressing some deficiencies in the property at handover, but I realise a lot of that is up to how much the property owner wants to invest into the house with tenants already in. Very transparent through the process of ending our tenancy and did all they could on their part to bring in new tenants asap when we ended our tenancy early. Very reasonable representation of us with the property owner when it came to deposit as well. Would use again.

Northwood, particularly Lottie, were very helpful during in a very difficult time. We applied for a rental property and were messed about by the landlord so much we ended up in a very difficult situation.
The way the landlord treated the situation was shocking but at least Lottie and Northwood understood and were helpful. We ended up having to give away most of our belongings, pet and live in an unsuitable house for a disabled person for six months until we can find somewhere else. Costing us thousands of pounds. All could have been easily avoided, thanks mate!

I contacted Northwood Leeds to view an apartment and they quickly booked an appointment for me. Abi, the agent that showed me the property, was very polite and welcoming. I ended up renting with them and the whole process was handled by Tyler, an experienced letting agent that was always prompt to reply to my questions and help as much as she could. I rented a property through Northwood for 4 years and had nothing but a great experience. From the very start of the tenancy I had a bottle of wine and a lovely card waiting for me when I moved in to the property which was a lovely gesture. Whenever I had an issue with the property the online reporting app was so easy to use and I always got a very fast response. They were also really helpful with practical tips to help prevent condensation and drain blockages. They never once made me feel as though I was a nuisance if I did need to report a problem. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone who either is looking for a property to rent or needs a letting agent to manage their property for them.

I viewed a property with Matthew Housam who also spoke to me about selling my property. I was not ready to instruct an agent at the time but I told him I would come back to him. After a couple of weeks, I spoke with him and he came and valued my property and I was very impressed with the soft approach in which he discussed the process of buying and selling. Once we were ready, we did not hesitate to choose Matthew to help sell our property and we sold within four weeks for over the asking price. This was down to Matthews honest valuation and explaining that marketing for the correct price would entice buyers and our aim was to have more than one offer, which we did. It allowed us to pick the buyer in the best position, rather than just any old offer that came on the table. It also meant that the extra money more than covered the higher fee that Matthew quoted us, but as they say, 'you get what you pay for'. We sold our 1 bed flat in Chapel Allerton and also purchased our new house (round the corner) through Northwood. Initial pre-sale contact with Matt and Adam was professional and friendly. They had done plenty of research on similar properties in the area to give an indication of what we should list at and potential sale prices. Other agencies were not as thorough with their pre-sale info. After we had our offer accepted on the new place, Tyler dealt with all queries, chasing of solicitors and speaking to other people in the chain. There were some issues with one of the solicitors which almost meant we could not complete on the desired date, but Tyler was always prompt to respond and ensured everything was pushed through in time. I had a viewing in on 09-Mar-2020 at 5:45PM for the Gledhow Court, LS7 4NL. I waited for atleast 40 mins but no agent came or contacted me, this is the level of poor professionalism. Highly UNRECOMMENDED.
Further to mention i called them twice to confirm the timing and they confirmed that yes the viewing in is confirmed but nobody showed or contacted me even all the night.
Poor professional staff so you can expect a type of property that have advertised. Extremely poor company and stupid unprofessional staff !!!!

I have been looked after by Andy and his team at Northwood Leeds for approximately 10 years, initially as a landlord and then recently when I came to sell my property. Over that time I have found the team friendly, professional and extremely fair to both myself and the tenants. Andy in particular has been a pleasure to deal with. He always has good suggestions on how to best to proceed in any given situation. I have been a very 'hands off' landlord and they have been exceptional at getting any necessary work done by their contractors quickly, at a reasonable price and with minimal inconvenience to me! They have also been very helpful in taking most of the costs of this work out of my rental payments rather than me having to pay upfront.
During the sale of my house they have gone above and beyond. They have done all the negotiations with the buyers and the tenants for me and given me good advice (even in retrospect). There was an issue with the house found on the survey which required building work and complex negotiations between the builder and the surveyor as to exactly what needed to be done including building materials and re inspection. They sorted all this for me in a timely fashion without me having to organise any of it, keeping me informed and getting my consent at each step. Essentially the only thing I needed to do was the paperwork that legally needed to be done by myself.
All in all they are an excellent team and I couldn't have asked for more!

Very good services. The team is very responsive to emails,and do a great job to support and help whenever they can. They are all very friendly and professional. One of the best Estate Agency we had to deal with since we moved in the UK. The missing star is due to lack of emergency contact during weekend. This could be useful, as we had a breaking during rental. It occurred during weekend and we had literally nobody to contact (no Estate agency, no landlord contact at the beginning) which was quite stressful in an even more stressful situation. They did help us a lot afterwards, but would have been good to have someone during the weekend as well. Otherwise, we highly recommend the agency.

We recently sold our house and received an average service from Northwood Leeds. Nothing was done badly, but as our house was sold before it even went to market and they didn't really have much to do, it wasn't done to the best of their ability.
It's difficult to get hold of your named contact as they don't have direct numbers, email addresses or mobiles and when they take a message it can take hours for them to call back. Our chain was a nightmare from start to finish and they did nothing additional to help with that, other than take messages, whereas the other agents in the chain were much more forthcoming.
We were told on the day of exchange of contracts that our buyer was considering pulling out by email, which was really frustrating as something that important should have been discussed verbally over the phone. Other than that they did what was expected, and were polite and professional.
They did find us a very good first time buyer and we were pleased in the end that we completed on our sale and moved.

When further proof was provided they started backtracking?

I have been a tenant on two separate occasions now with Northwood and on both occasions they have been reluctant moves on my part (due to landlords selling properties) and I can honestly say the services from them all is flawless!! They are absolutely amazing with their “nothing is a problem” attitude and always there to help and offer guidance. Some of the staff I have known now for a fair number of years but even the newer staff that I have dealt with all have amazing helpful attitudes. A well deserved 10/10 from me for the customer service alone. I would have no hesitation in renting again through Northwood. Thank you for everything guys xx

We are landlords with a lot of experience in managing property ourselves and through agents. Having decided to have our properties let by agents to free up our time we took on an agent who was so bad she called on us to sort out a difficult tenant. We were so angry with this experience that we were convinced that agents were a waste of space.
We shared this with another landlord who recommended Northwood. After we put our property in their hands - it was a revelation!!
The level or expertise, breadth of knowledge and a true understanding of the business left us with complete peace of mind, knowing our property was being looked after by professionals. There are cheaper agents, but having experienced one, it is best to sleep at night knowing Northwood are in charge.

Northwood Leeds are brilliant and I couldn’t recommend them enough! Having used other agents in years gone by I’ve definitely appreciated Northwood’s professional approach and more importantly the quality service. Although not the cheapest agent when it comes to fees, I personally feel they’re worth every penny as they do a fantastic job!

I was really keen on viewing a property and got in touch with Northwood well in advance. They messed me about when trying to organise said viewing (agreeing to a time, cancelling it, taking ages to get back to me regarding another time) so someone else ended up getting an application in first. Just struck me as disorganised and not on top of things.

Very Unprofessional company! Considering I am a cash buyer wishing to view a property I have just received a call from Richard cancelling my viewing as the tenant who does not even own the property says it is not convenient? Well if i owned the property I do not think i would be letting my tenants decide who can view and when? especially when you are a cash buyer like myself.
Richard was making the discussion up as he went along and was clearly out of his depth with me - when asked who i should complain to he then again tried to make excuses! Be Careful of these so called estate agents.....
