The purchase of the property proved to be quite complicated as it was advertised as “freehold “but the vendors had to purchase the lease first before the house could be bought as freehold. This took longer than I expected but Northwood guided me through all the legal challenges and kept me informed of any news. I thank them for their patience and help. I will certainly call on them for any future purchases.

I have been looked after by Andy and his team at Northwood Leeds for approximately 10 years, initially as a landlord and then recently when I came to sell my property. Over that time I have found the team friendly, professional and extremely fair to both myself and the tenants. Andy in particular has been a pleasure to deal with. He always has good suggestions on how to best to proceed in any given situation. I have been a very 'hands off' landlord and they have been exceptional at getting any necessary work done by their contractors quickly, at a reasonable price and with minimal inconvenience to me! They have also been very helpful in taking most of the costs of this work out of my rental payments rather than me having to pay upfront.
During the sale of my house they have gone above and beyond. They have done all the negotiations with the buyers and the tenants for me and given me good advice (even in retrospect). There was an issue with the house found on the survey which required building work and complex negotiations between the builder and the surveyor as to exactly what needed to be done including building materials and re inspection. They sorted all this for me in a timely fashion without me having to organise any of it, keeping me informed and getting my consent at each step. Essentially the only thing I needed to do was the paperwork that legally needed to be done by myself.
All in all they are an excellent team and I couldn't have asked for more!

Renting my late step-fathers house, loads broke, repairs & redecorating was needed, at a time of great stress. Northwood had all their own suppliers working at reasonable rates, great response times and high standard of work. Office staff managed all aspects, just asking you what you'd like doing and then doing it all for you. Can't speak highly enough of them, and appreciate all the work you've done for the family this year. Happy Christmas.

Very good services. The team is very responsive to emails,and do a great job to support and help whenever they can. They are all very friendly and professional. One of the best Estate Agency we had to deal with since we moved in the UK. The missing star is due to lack of emergency contact during weekend. This could be useful, as we had a breaking during rental. It occurred during weekend and we had literally nobody to contact (no Estate agency, no landlord contact at the beginning) which was quite stressful in an even more stressful situation. They did help us a lot afterwards, but would have been good to have someone during the weekend as well. Otherwise, we highly recommend the agency.

Sold our house for asking price!

Our situation was that we bought and renovated our home to live in Denton Burn, however, we ended up with an opportunity to move abroad, meaning selling our home was on the cards sooner than we anticipated.

However, what we had spent in total was slightly higher than what I could see houses were selling for. Furthermore, the hot topic at the end of 2019 was Brexit, and some mortgage companies and valuers were down-valuing homes after good offers were made, concerned that there would be a price crash. This had caused some "run of the mill" sales to fall through and there were fewer buyers looking than previous years.

Two other estate agents told us to advertise either unrealistically higher (risking no viewings coming through the door, or playing a game of price reductions), and far lower (risking selling too quickly, selling ourselves short and losing some of the money we spent on the home).

We took advice from Victoria Skoyles who has a good reputation for selling homes in Newcastle. It felt like she was the one who had the natural skill to pull all the intricate details together that had to be factored in during a time of uncertainty and pull off the right result. Knowing this area street by street she acknowledged some points that were different about our home which others had missed, gave us some valuable insights into how the buying market was behaving today, and came up with a price she could justify with a good plan.

When we advertised our home with Northwood between Victoria, Andrew and Jayne they took brilliant photographs, organised 9 viewings and to our amazement, within a month they got us three offers! The last being at the actual asking price.

If you haven't sold your own house before, there are two main halves to the service (advertising and sales progression), but at each stage there is a lot of communication between you. Your estate agent will get to see the best and worst of you because it is an exciting and stressful moment in your life and it feels like such an uncertain process even when it goes well. At each point of contact this team empathised with, worked around, and completely understood the situation we were in.

Once the offer was accepted they didn't just sit back and wait for the solicitors to do their work, the levels of service increased further chasing the buyers's solicitors up, following us up when we hadn't done something etc.

We really appreciated one day in particular when Victoria answered us promptly during what appeared to be a week of 12+ hour work days because all of her colleagues were unfortunately ill at the same time in January with this winter's cough/cold/flu bug.

She didn't just clock off at 5:30 and leave us hanging - she always did what needed to be done to keep the sale running smoothly and kept us in the updated right away on less urgent matters - that week wouldn't have been easy for her.

We can't thank everybody enough including Sara, Michaela, Megan and Inde for the effort and teamwork involved in making sure the sale is completed and we can start our next chapter.

Unbelievable effort. Thank you so much.

Experience with Northwood Glasgow has been extremely nice. Staff is very helpful and client-oriented. Everyone at Northwood's Glasgow office has been very enterprising and friendly. Especially Craig Burns, he is very competent, kind and hard working individual. Very nice person. Pamela, Patricia and Isabelle are always available and ready to actively respond and address to any concerns/issues that a client brings to their notice. Isabelle responds to cirtical and urgent matters even during out of office hours at times. Based on my excellent experience, especially with Craig and Northwood Glasgow, I would undoubtedly contact them without any hesitation if I had any property related needs in Glasgow city. Excellent and friendly people, always there when you need them. I wish them all the best!
