My husband and I have bought & sold numerous properties over the years…. And during each transaction we have always felt as if the estate agent hadn’t always had our best interests at heart and in some circumstances acted in a biased way towards other buyers/bidders, basically not being truthful. We had all the north Leeds estate agents round to take a look at our property to sell, but felt as if each one wasn’t being genuine, or lacked experience or just priced it on recent sold properties in the area… David at ewemove however is a breath of fresh air! From the moment we instructed David to sell our detached property in Adel he was an absolute professional. His skill & love of photography came across in the amazing brochure he provided for our property not just the usual quick pics from other estate agents. We felt very reassured and confident in David’s ability and therefore left David to do the open viewing weekend, and we would go away. David had checked all of the interested parties and had approx 25 viewings over the weekend….. by the following Tuesday we had 10 offers 2 under and 8 over! Incredible! David actually helped me sell a property 6 months ago but we have been busy settling in to our new place, rejoicing that the sale completed relatively smoothly & forgetting to review highly positively as we intended to. It was my first sale so like others who have left reviews I interviewed a few of the most popular agents selling at the time in the area and he really stood out. In that way I didn't actually come across EM , this was a recommendation from a colleague who has bought & sold many properties and again for her EM really stood out in the crowd - so I rejoice in having listened to her and giving them a go . He just seemed to have a totally new & different approach , was 100% reliable with meetings & made me feel like an individual as opposed to a statistic. There was no hard sale, no chase, there was obvious knowledge and experience , with a genuine desire to give an excellent service. If you need him he's super efficient in coming back quickly and has all the recommendations you may need - solicitors , building surveyors, electricians etc. I felt confident to go with his recommendations every time but remained stubborn on my choice of solicitor which was a slight regret but I would keep this in mind for the future and feel I could go back anytime with a quick query and not wait too long for a reliable response. And if he wasn't around for any reason I have made notes from his advice! Couldn't recommend him & EM highly enough - his help even extended to some personal mail delivery to our new address with an item that slipped through the redirect system! I chatted a little to our buyers on exchange day and they had nothing but good things to say about him too. Mr Walker did the impossible and got us sold for more than we anticipated! We used 2 different agents before him (well known too) who couldn't even get viewings at a significantly lower price. The moving house journey was already stressful enough for us, particularly as there were a lot of parties involved, but David always went above and beyond in making it easy as possible, contacting all parties and ensuring everyone is on the same page (alongside a sales progressor). David is certainly the best in the area (maybe even the country) he even has his own book on how to sell a house, which isn't something I've seen before. Best decision of 2021! We had 4 agents come and appraise our cosy 2 bed cottage in Farsley. 2 of the agents gave us ' eye watering' house values in an attempt to 'flatter' us to go with them. David's approach was different and advised us to market our property at a reasonable market value and to get in as many people to view our house as possible. Over the late May bank holiday 2021 David did 45 viewings which resulted in 21 offers. The offer we accepted was 19% over asking! As David had handled all the initial enquiries and conducted the viewings himself, David was best placed in helping us choose our offer. It was like having our very own Phil Spencer on the phone :) David also had our buyer speak with his mortgage advisor so that we were confident they were serious buyers. David even phoned our sellers agent to put in a good word for us - which help our seller choose our offer. From instructing solicitors to finding our new home and completing on our sale and buy took under 15 weeks which during a property boom and stamp duty holiday is actually really good going! In that time 4 houses within our area being sold by 2 of the other agents fell through and still have sold STC flags on. Well, what can I say! I had quite a journey selling our house and David was an absolute star throughout! I had 4 different estate agents round to value my house, and then by chance, I met Nev, who worked for the Otley branch whilst viewing a house my partner ended up buying. The property my partner purchased was for sale via EweMove but a different branch. Nev was incredible and so I asked him who looked after my area. He gave me David Walker's contact details and as I was about to put my house on the market, I called David. As soon as I met David I knew he was the person to sell my house. David isn't just an estate agent, he actually cares about every house he sells, and the people selling that house. We first met David at a house viewing of a property he was selling. We’d not put our flat up for sale yet (we’d got a few agents booked in to come round to give us a quote) but were so impressed after meeting David we cancelled them all and instructed him. I’ve dealt with estate agents before and I’ve always begrudged having to pay their fee at the end, apart from popping the house in Rightmove it wasn’t actually clear what else they did? This was not the case with David. We knew we wanted to move to North Leeds, although we didn’t really know the area. David was amazing at helping us throughout our buying process, coming with us on viewings, replying to me late into the evening with my ‘is this street dodgy or not’ messages. He really did go the extra mile and genuinely cared about us and our property search. We felt like we had our very own version of Kirsty and Phil on hand. For our sale, he sold it twice over (the first buyer pulled out) for over the asking price! We really liked that we had input into the photos and description of our property as we felt we were able to put a bit of our personality into it and help the flat stand out from the rest. David was super patient with me after I’d moved flowers and vases a million times to get the right photos for Rightmove. Our photos were fab too, a cut above the quality of the generic Estate Agent pictures. The conveyancing process took quite a while for us to navigate and I had many fraught conversations with our solicitors. David helped push things along when appropriate which was really helpful. David Walker of EweMove Horsforth and Adel comes highly recommended! We chose to make an enquiry with EweMove after receiving a marketing leaflet through the post. We researched the company online and there seemed to be something fresh and different about their ethos to selling your home. Our experience has confirmed just this. Our first meeting with David was informative and positive without leaving us feeling as though he was being 'pushy'. He gave us time to consider everything and the video links he sent to our email address were an excellent and novel method of communication which we really liked. From the outset, David has been extremely enthusiastic and efficient and has taken the stress out of selling our house. He advised and assisted in preparing the house for best impact on photographs which we were delighted with. He dealt with all of the viewings and communications with potential buyers. Our house was on the market for only two weeks when we accepted an offer! Nothing was ever too much trouble for David.
