Nothing was too much trouble when booking in to view property,they made it easy for us to view property .Some other agents in the area made it difficult for us to view houses so this was noticed by us in particular . Matthew, (the manager) helped both the Vendor and ourselves iron out and resolve a tricky situation. He helped us all navigate a seamless transition of sale and purchase. Everything could have just fallen apart during one part of the transaction ,but Matthew ,having much wisdom along with a calm professional manner played a key role in driving the sale and purchase to a positive conclusion. We recently both sold and bought a house with Gascoigne Halman.
From start to finish they have been so helpful. When Matt came to value our old house he was so open and honest about its selling potential and then he went on to get the listing sorted over a couple of days from when we asked to sell with them.
I have to say Georgia Day has been the most patient and helpful person during the whole process. It had been a long one and Georgia was dealing with both the sale and purchase side of things for us so was getting it from all angles.
If I ever felt like I needed some confirmation on things that were going on or felt unsure about something Georgia would happily guide us through the process and was so patient during our negotiations.
I did feel there was a few times where we lacked a bit of communication but it was hard to tell if this lay with Gascoigne or our solicitors (although we did use Gascoigne's advised solicitors DC Law.)
Overall we would definitely recommend Gascoigne to seel your house.

We appointed Gascoigne Halman Macclesfield to sell our house as the popular high street agent. However with three sales fall through ( not necessary Gascoigne's fault, I do believe they tired to do all they could to stop that happening) we decided to take our business elsewhere. What was most disappointing was the constant changing of agent aligned to my house and the lack of communication between the agents. I often found myself ringing up to find an agent that knew half the story, so it was clear the files were not maintained and led to a lot of unnecessary back and forth. Average I would say.

Outstanding Service from Start to Finish!
Last year we appointed Gascoigne Halman’s Macclesfield branch to sell our property. We’d sounded out several other local agents beforehand, some of whom suggested that we might achieve a somewhat inflated valuation. However Matt provided both a reality check and the reassurances that we needed regarding their ability to secure a sale.
Gascoigne Halman successfully achieved an asking price offer within two months of us going on the market, although sadly this fell through when our buyers withdrew without warning or explanation after ten weeks. Having just had an offer accepted of our own on a new property we were then faced the very real prospect of having this fall through too. However, Georgia (who was managing our sale) advised us not to panic and within a week had secured us another sale!
Ultimately this time we would complete despite enduring what was occasionally a painfully frustrating and stressful process due to the chain involved and radio silence from our solicitors. Thankfully we always felt that Georgia was fighting our corner and driving things along, informing us as often as possible about the progress that was being made. She absolutely earned Gascoigne Halman their fee.
Although we have no intention of moving again anytime soon, we would definitely recommend using Gascoigne Halman if you’re looking to sell in the Macclesfield area. We would like to thank Matt and Georgia in Particular for achieving our sale and for looking after us every step of the way.

Unfortunately, the solicitors recommended by the agency caused us major issues (Gilson Grey) for both our sale and purchase which did sour the experience slightly. After 3 aborted sales with Purple Bricks which consumed 14 stressful months due to lack of support, wrong price, no vetting of purchasers, etc., etc. I decided to use Gascoigne Halman in Macclesfield to sell our house. Within 1 week Matthew Clark, Carly and the team had vetted a new purchaser who was right for our property, truly had the funds, and was highly likely to follow through to completion (which they did).
I can't recommend Gascoigne Halman enough for their proactive advice and follow-up, aiding the purchaser and keeping me informed. I found them friendly and easy to communicate with. No waiting for someone to answer the phone for inquiries and prompt replies on email. When the exchange of contacts and completion time came, they helped pressure crucial solicitor communication so that we met the target dates keeping me (the seller) and the purchaser happy. I can't recommend Gascoigne Halman in Macclesfield enough.

0 Stars would be a more suitable review, if the agent would have introduced himself to my partner before the viewing began I would be able to highlight his representation on the company but unfortunately he didn't even bother do to that, this gentleman met my partner who is looking to buy houses for investment purposes, the agent was lazy and had no information regarding the property, never mind even having keys to show him around the place! This terrible viewing ended in the agent telling my partner he is going to grab the 'keys' for an area that is locked, come to find that the agent had disappeared? Completely unprofessional and should be ashamed. If your staff are not trained enough they should not be sent out to guide CASH buyers through viewings. Won't be bothering looking for investment opportunities with Gascoigne again .

The experience was satisfactory and the staff friendly but there are improvements to be made. There is rarely anyone in the office and messages or emails need to be left so they can get back to you. This can take rather a long time!
The staff seem knowledgeable but I was limited to viewing a property when the tenant was available to show me around. The agent could have done it.

Having just completed the sale of my house in Kettleshulme I just wanted to take a moment to thank Gascoigne Halman in Macclesfield, and Carly in particular, for their endeavours and efforts over the last 3 months. The house came on the market and was sold within a matter of days. That was easy I thought! However, a 400 year old house in the countryside comes with a number of unforeseen challenges all of which were met head on and handled efficiently and promptly by Carly and the team. I was kept informed at all times, phone calls and emails were answered quickly and the entire process was managed in a manner that never failed to impress. I've sold a number of properties in the area over the years and this has been the most pleasant experience of the lot. Despite having a strong presence we found GH to be very weak. Our estate agent was part time and when she wasn’t in the office nothing would happen. We ended up communicating with the chain ourselves, our sellers estate agent was amazing and by the end of the process they were the ones to receive a thank you gift. The final week of a large chain was very eventful, however as our agent was off GH were nowhere to be seen. Phone calls requesting updates were not returned and the other agents and solicitors did all the work. We did however. Receive an invoice for the full amount the day after completion. We would not recommend GH.

The team in the lettings department were absolutely fabulous, credit to Lisa and Charlotte. I had very specific requirements, and these ladies tried their hardest to secure a property for me, and found me others within a matter of hours. They booked me viewings quickly and let me see some properties that had not yet been published on Rightmove, as the rental market when I'm writing this was moving so quickly and it seemed an impossible task. Would totally recommend, and made my first experience looking on the rental market very easy. All around a great team!

I had a representative from this company who was the most awful man totally outstayed his welcome bearing in mind we are in the middle of a Covid 19 crisis! Thought he would never leave waffles on about a nothing for an hour before offering the information required price to be expected and commission rates. Traipsed over my carpet in shoes and said I can take them off if you want me too!!!! Mmmmh filled new with confidence for when he shows people round if he got the opportunity which he won’t. Be aware covid is on your shoes ????. Looks professional but let me tell you looks can be deceiving.

Appalling service from bottom to the top. Let us move into a house that was previously used to grow and sell drugs. We only found this out when i found drugs stuffed up the chimney. Did not resolve any issues we reported - the property needed major work excessive damp and mould all they said was well move out .. do not use these jokers only interested in taking money.
