We were buying our first house through Northwood and had Kayleigh as our estate agent. We initially were looking at a house from strike and had problems left right and centre. When we finally found the house with northwood, It was a breath of fresh air. Kayleigh made the whole process extremely clear, Kept us up to date with everything and was very responsive when we had any questions. from start to finsh was much quicker than expected, all thanks to the hard work Kayleigh and the team put in for us. Extremely greatful for their time and efforts, we even received a fantastic little hamper with lots of goodies to get us settled in our new home which was just the cherry on top. Fantastic service all around and could not have asked for more!

Northwood Wigan are by far the worst letting agency I have ever come across. My girlfriend rented a house through these, 9 Henry park street to be precise, the house was rat infested, mould growing in every corner of the house and they did very little to solve the issue. It cost me over £400 to fix the mould in the bathroom as my young 3 year old son was living there and my girlfireing was pregnant. I eventually moved her in with me and since she has moved out they have taken no responsibility for anything and attempted to deduct over £300 from her deposit regardless of the work that we had to do. It’s resulted in me taking them to small claims court.
Avoid at all costs.

I've used other agents in the North West over the last ten years and none have given me the same peace of mind as Northwood's team in Wigan. Their local and market knowledge have been valuable resources.
It is also refreshing to see their drive for regulation to be introdiced into the market - which reflects their high standards and the care they take looking after my portfolio.
The rates for managing my portfolio are very competitive and re-billing is transparent - they send on a copy of the trade invoice, for work that is done, with the statement the money has been deducted from or with their own invoice to me.
Similarly, when it's been time to offload a property, they've been really helpful too.
Northwood were recommended to me and I would recommend them to anyone else. I look forward to our continuing partnership long into the future.

Although it is a different team, we find them just as helpful and supportive.

Please read if you are a Landlord, it's crucial to share my experience with Northwood Wigan, (who have and had the same directors as Northwood Bolton) especially when evaluating property management firms. This is a summary of the issues I encountered:
They failed to perform credit checks on tenants, which was clearly outlined in our contract, and later attempted to shift the blame to the Landlord for not requesting these checks.
Northwood Bolton terminated the contract without the proper notice, leaving the Landlord exposed even though it had mentioned to Northwood that the Landlord was currently suffering from stress and anxiety.
Their consultant advised tenants on rental matters during the notice period (as outlined in the contract) when they should have been acting in the Landlords best interests, resulting in tenants missing payments for the first time.
Shockingly, their staff discussed my workplace with external parties and even confirmed this in writing, breaching my privacy.
A Northwood employee used my personal information to search for me on LinkedIn and threatened to report me to my superiors if I didn't comply with their demands.
The same individual used my personal email to send threatening messages after their tenure as a director ended. This was reported to the Police who ask them to stop.
When I reported these serious issues to the new director, they refused to acknowledge them and even stated they wouldn't address the problems.
I had to file a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) about the data breach and threatening messages. Even when ICO ruled in my favor, Northwood Bolton's director didn't acknowledge the threatening letter.
In my experience, Northwood Bolton is a company that doesn't uphold contracts, fails to protect personal data, and takes no action against harassing staff members. Most concerning is their unwillingness to admit or apologize when in the wrong. Be cautious when considering their services.

I chose Northwood initially as they seemed to be one of the few agents who catered for landlords. I wasn't disappointed as they gave me some key advice early on which proved to be extremely valuable. They gained me a better price than I expected in what has become quite a challenging market. Excellent communication.
