Nothing but 5* for these folks.
A friendly, family run company.
We have dealt with quite a few estate agents in the area and these folks were the best, by a long way.
They couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and engaging and Claire, in particular, went well above and beyond to ensure the sale and chain remained intact. As well as Claire a special mention goes to Catherine, Julie, Amy and Alex.
We cannot recommend these folks highly enough.

Brilliant estate agents. Sold my apartment in a very difficult market for flats. Went with PJC and even though it took a while the ladies there persevered and worked really hard to get a sale at a great price. As with selling people looked, offered and dropped out but the sales team did a great job and didnt give up. Catherine Julie and Claire were superb and Claire kept me updated regularly and after the sale.

My husband and I chose to sell our home through PJC as we liked their no-nonsense, friendly professionalism from the outset and didn't feel like we were being subject to a hard sell. The marketing was fast and high quality and we sold our house to our first viewers. Unfortunately the chain collapsed (through NO fault of PJC whatsoever) and they remarketed and resold our house within a couple of weeks. The communication and support from PJC has been a godsend, during what can be such a stressful and challenging time. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend PJC and should we ever look to move again (not too soon we hope!) we will 100% use PJC again. Nearly bought a house via this agency.
However, they did not make things easy. They firstly tried to make me use on of their two recommended solicitors for the purchase.
The solicitor represents the buyer/vendor, so this is the person who should be choosing them, not the estate agent!
Also, there was a terrible lack of communication from the agent during negotiations. I was kept out of the loop.
I could not live with the terms of the seller at short notice, so pulled out of the purchase due to this.

PJC have been great once again. George helped me find what I was looking for and the whole sales team managed to get the purchase over line despite the hurdles posed by the chain above. I'm grateful to Claire for doings lots of leg work chasing solicitors. I have seen how other estate agents operate and PJC are head and shoulders above them.
The switch to the rentals team has been seamless and as ever they are helping me to get everything into place in a speedy timeframe.

Very smooth and efficient on our recent house sale. Alex in the Bridgend office was a superstar, nothing was ever too much trouble for her and her communication with us at all times was faultless. Alex also did a video tour of our house and the attention to detail was brilliant, you really brought out the character of our family home, you are really talented!
Then once our house went under offer and accepted we then dealt with Claire Bevan - The Progression Manager. Claire was super efficient when it came to communication and again, nothing was ever too much trouble for Claire, you were friendly, welcoming and beyond professional. All in all we couldn’t be happier with PJC and would not hesitate to do business again with them in the future.

Wouldn't trust these cowboys. Offer was put in on a house we really liked. Apparently vendor wanted x amount. We put in the offer the vendor wanted and an hour later pjc ringing to say that the vendor wants to go ahead with another viewing! We put in an offer with what the vendor wanted so property should have been taken off the market there and then! They then have the cheek to tell us other appointment we made to view another property would have to be changed to a morning appointment. They know full we well that morning appointments are no good as myself and my partner work Monday to Friday until at least 4 pm.
Absolute cowboys and obviously looking for the most money. Just a shame people decide to market their properties with this company!

I had a good experience with PJC as a buyer and I found them to be responsive to messages throughout.
One thing I found unusual was that when I made my offer via telephone, (I also confirmed my offer via email) I did not receive a phone call back to say the offer had been accepted, I received an email confirming it instead. This isn't really a criticism since the outcome is the same and it's always better to have written confirmation of something, but I would have expected a phone call first and then an email.
As a first time buyer I have no prior experience of the 'progression' side of the business, but on many occasions, my view of Rhiannon was that she is an example of how someone is meant to do this job! Rhiannon was very responsive to messages and kept me updated throughout, which meant that I, in turn, felt more inclined to keep her updated about our situation/progress, which I hope was useful for the rest of the chain since we were at the bottom of it.
At no point did I feel that PJC was working solely in the interest of the seller, I felt valued as a buyer, which I think is important. The communication on the day of completion was very good and I feel like they went above and beyond to make sure it happened.
I would definitely consider PJC for any future sale/purchase and feel grateful for the service received.

I approached Payton Jewell Caines regarding a problem with my property caused by a neighbour’s building works and I dealt with John Caines, since he is also a qualified surveyor. John was impressively responsive and very supportive during this issue, demonstrating understanding of the issue, the effect it was having on my property and the stress it was causing me personally. John kept in regular contact with me and dedicated some of his own time to seeking out further information and communicating with other external agencies to help me get the problem resolved. Thanks to John’s help, an external agency finally became involved and took action to resolve the issue. John continued to maintain regular contact with me and get updates on the situation throughout the entire process, even when he no longer needed to. I will not hesitate to contact and use his services again should the need arise. Thank you, John.

I cannot recommend them highly enough. Selling a house is stressful enough, add to that a pandemic, and things off off the charts!
Everyone we spoke to during the sale were reassuring, from the initial visit of the property in Dec 2019 to the eventual sale in 2020, everyone was supportive and highly knowledgeable.
The purchase took longer than your average, but everyone from PJC who were involved were faultless. Particularly, Claire Bevan, who went above and beyond every step of the way with the purchase. She took the time to chat with us and always kept us informed. We are so grateful for her hard work and kindness towards us. I cannot speak highly enough about her.

Excellent!!!!! We had our house for sale with another agent in Bridgend. We switched to PJC and they sold it within 2 weeks. The after sale team were absolutely amazing! Rhiannon dealt with us initially and then Claire dealt with completion. It was a stressful last few days as a young family with the lower chain. As a former conveyancing Solicitor I know her job role and can say for sure that she went above and beyond for us on a daily basis, even at this extremely busy time of year. Was on viewing of a property just to be told after that our family is too big for two bedroom house who you are to decide do you know my family well to decide is it too big or too small. And company can lie about house to be rented but still advertisement for it is online for weeks. Try to avoid this company

Promised to keep in touch every step of the way regarding a property we were interested in (Tentative offer made within a couple of hours after viewing property).
It wasn't until I telephoned them to given them an update with regards to the sale of our property that they advised me that the property had been sold! They didn't even have the courtesy to telephone to let me know or to cancel a 2nd viewing we had booked in for 2 days time!

My daughter has recently started looking for her first house. I called into a few estate agents over the last few days but Payton Jewell Caines stood out the most. I called in on behalf of my daughter to see what houses were on in Pencoed and the girls there were so helpful. People are quick enough to give a bad review and so I thought I would review on how good the service I received was, it doesnt hurt being friendly, helpful and profesional at the same time. It's true that people often take time to review when things go wrong. In my case a situation did go wrong through no doing of theirs or mine and all things considered, I was informed of the full situation, their remedy and the matter was dealt with fairly and quickly. All you can ask of any company is they treat all their customers fairly and in this case they did so with honours.

Customer service is appalling. They admitted that they were told of an issue with a rental property but they didn't register it on their maintenance system. I rented from them for over 4 years, paid over £30,000, had house fully decorated when I bought my new house and it was immaculate. I even left the property over a week early as landlord had a new tenant (but paid for that week). I didn't expect thanks, but was surprised that 2 weeks on no bond returned. Apparently they are waiting for a quote for a shelf under the sink due to the landlord's washing machine having a leak! Which I reported and they confirmed they knew about. Not bothered about deposit, it is the cheek of it. When you call them they are rude and indifferent. Curt responses, like it's your fault and you shouldn't be complaining. You also have to chase them. They won't bother updating you. Time and again they showed their true colours, of a company that does not give a jot about customer service.

After my boyfriend booked a day off work to view a house that was arranged by Jenna. We turned up at the house to find a let agreed sign and no correspondence from estate agents. It's only when we phoned they decided to tell us that the appointment was cancelled.
