Awful experience renting through this company.
They delayed our move into the property. I paid three months in advance but they hounded for payments after only two months had passed.
They offered me a 12 month extension to the contract, and verbally confirmed that it was OK, only for me to come home to a For Sale sign outside the house.
Tried to shorten the amount of time I legally have to vacate the premise.
Now they are trying to start a war between the home owner and us by telling lies that we are not allowing viewings of the property despite us allowing viewings of the property.
Absolutely awful people and awful company.

What a lovely welcome I received walking into your office today, to be welcomed by Christine and smiley faces, very polite and friendly, such a lovely atmosphere. Especially after having dealt with another agent locally that was not very happy, or accommodating and couldn’t even do viewings on a Saturday surely a key day, I was very disappointed.

I first dealt with Peter Alan back in 2005 when I purchased my own house and so when I sadly had to sell my late mothers property this year I decided to use Peter Alan again.
I am so glad I did. The sale went perfectly and very quickly. I was fully kept up to date of every aspect during the progress of the sale.
In particular I would like to say a huge thanks to Christine, Gemma and Dania who did a fantastic job during the entire process, but they were also so caring and compassionate and helping me during what I found to be a difficult time in my life. I will always be grateful for that.
I totally 100% recommend Peter Alan in Porthcawl to anybody buying or selling a house.

The most appalling levels of pressure to close a deal and levels of used car sales tactics I have ever imagined!
Asking me now to file a complaint instead of allowing my 14 day right to cancel.
The tenant was called twice requesting him to sign a tenancy agreement. When that failed, they called his wife an additional three times and she finally relented just to get them to stop calling.
Interestingly, they stated in a text
“Due to the unclarity of the situation and no communication the tenant has signed the contract. There was no communication with me as I was in bed with covid and phones were off to get rest, BUT they managed 5 calls to the tenant! One of which clearly stated they were not going to sign.“
They also sent me this text “Hi Tony, the tenant has just told us that you have informed him we are no longer taking over and not to sign the contract? Please can you confirm to us what is going on, please? As we are at the point of sign-off. Thanks, Matt”
SO as I was not able to confirm as I had switched off my phone to get rest from Covid, they harassed the tenant’s wife until she signed!
Open question: Matt, is the first thing you should do when you have dug yourself into a hole?

Gemma was so proffesional when she came to value our property. I didn't feel under any pressure to commit to anything but really felt that we would be in really good hands if we proceeded to sell our property. Will not bother to go to anyone else and will definately be using Gemma and Peter Alan when we are ready to put our house on the market.

Absolutely would not recommend this company, I used them a few months back to find a flat , at first everything was going well but then after i offered a 6month upfront rent things sided , the property was suppose to be professionally cleaned it wasn't , i have images of the state on the place, they didn't show me how to use the heating system or anything which later cost me, The flat was a right mess on viewing and it was agreed all this was to be done before move in date as i was coming from London i trusted this and moved down , and the place was disgusting tbh, no care in the world seemed like the lady dealing with me took her commission and went of on vacation, i then had to buy cleaning equipment and spend several hours scrubbing the flat on the day i was moving in, there was old rotten furniture which was meant to be removed, they changed the gas and electrical suppliers without consulting the landlord or myself so they could get an incentive, and didn't realise until a few weeks later, basically they were very lazy and did not to the job they were suppose to., not very happy atall , there was no cleaning done or carpet clean yet they still invoiced the landlord for the cleaning even tho after paying almost £5000 to move in i had to go out and buy the stuff and do it all myself landlord haven't reimbursed me but its peter alan who is to blame as landlord also trusted them to make sure everything was done. this has now caused me so many more issues and Peter Alan Porthcawl i really cant stress enough not to use them.
took them ages to actually get ball rolling and when they did well it was a shambles which cost me money and stress. the lady Gemma i believe it was didn't handle this atall like she was suppose to really not happy atall.
but to the lady who covered her the last day , seemed very much more on it and very much more capable even though she herself was shocked at the state on flat and didn't understand why none of it had been done but i do, its seems like the other lady took the commission went on her holiday and didn't think twice about leaving the property in that state. really not happy atall. i have made a complained to head office on this and sent all videos and pics and emails of how everything was dealt with. i am very sorry leaving such a bad review but i am still very angry about it all and i just feel like after paying all that money things should have been done is that simple no excuse really. i have pictures from the day i viewed and videos and the flat was cleaner on day i viewed the place than when i moved in so really don't now what happened but not very happy atall want let me upload here otherwise you could see what i mean.

I am very disappointed with the service provided by Peter Alan, we went through such a 'reputable' and 'professional' estate agents and didnt privately rent in the hope that our long distance move from Coventry to Porthcawl would be the smoothest, however this was definitely not the case.
Upon viewing the property which was left in a poor state of cleanliness the agent advised that he was embarrassed to be showing the property in its current state but promised that it would be professionally cleaned prior to anyone moving in and that the garden which is overgrown with weeds would be tidied up. Safe to say none of this was carried out to our dismay after transporting all our belongings and our newborn baby twins to the property, no way was it habitable. I cannot unerstand how Peter Alan gave us the keys without even checking if the cleaning had taken place,especially during a pandemic and knowing we were moving 3 month old babies. How professional?!
After numerous calls to Peter alan Porthcawl no resolution was and has yet to be offered, they advised they were trying to get a contractor in to cleean but couldnt say how long that would take, so we were left with no option but to clean ourselves as we were left homeless with 2 babies. Well done Peter Alan safe to say i will not be recommending you to anyone!

Absolutely appalling service. Don't bother renting through them, regardless of how amazing or suitable the property seems as if there are any problems with the property Peter Alan will simply not address it. Even if you explain what an impact the related stress is having on you they will do nothing and living in the property will become a misery. Your only option will be to move out incurring more cost and more stress. The standard approach they take is to sweet talk you in the office and on the initial viewing but to do very little in terms of actually behaving as responsible lettings agents. I would recommend landlords seek other lettings management agents, and tenants find properties elsewhere as these guys are effectively unscrupulous salesmen who fail to deliver on their obligations.

Having dealt with plenty estate agents over my many years I can honestly say that I can't praise this marvellous team enough. I’ve found the service to be first class. I have been in contact with Peter Alan Porthcawl Branch for the last few months and have had the pleasure of dealing with several of their wonderful staff but I have to say that Annie (Annharad Rees) has gone out of her way to explain everything to me in a way I can understand. I am a senior citizen and the process of buying a property was very daunting as I have lived in the same house for almost 40 years. Annie could not have been more helpful ....or patient. I feel very fortunate to have had this young lady to help and guide me, nothing was too much trouble for her.

The Porthcawl branch of Peter Alan has been a wonderful branch to work with for us whilst going through the buying process on our first home. Every member of the team is helpful, patient and warm towards us both, every time.
Special mention must go to Annie though. Annie has taken myself and Fiancé on a number of viewings and out of every agent we've worked with before, Annie has unquestionably been the most personable, professional, accommodating and knowledgable at each encounter.
Not only that, she's gone far above and beyond what she's required to do simply to make us feel confident, informed and happy with the buying experience.
For what normally should be a stressful process, Annie makes us feel positive, empowered (by letting us know there's no such thing as a silly question) and when the time is right... has us in stitches. Highly, highly recommended to all family, friends and strangers.
