Extremely unhelpful. Tired to book a viewing only to be told I was rude (after spending my name out five times!!). I would advise to not use them for any sales.
Beware of the rating, guys. Take a closer look at those five star reviews, I think they mostly look fake. DMCC bill comes to mind.

When I say this is the worst experience I have had with an estate agent I genuinely mean it... I turned up to the viewing and the girl I viewed with knew nothing whatsoever about the property and said for me to contact Zoe Cade.
We offered on a Wednesday and we kept chasing for an update on our offer and they continued to say they were waiting to hear back from the landlord. I continuously chased for another week and kept getting vague responses without any clarity. After this week of waiting we eventually gave up.
It was extremely demoralizing and as moving is stressful in any case they certainly didn't help. It's a real shame and I hate writing bad reviews unless extremely necessary. Petty Son and Prestwich are the reason estate agents get a bad name and unfortunately unless something drastically changes in the company they will remain this way.

We chose Petty Son and Prestwich to sell our house having first got to know them when they were the acting agent for the vendor of the same house four years previously.
All I can say is that the whole team are superb. The sales team we worked with, Greg, Faye, Francesca, Catherine, Pamela, Dan worked tirelessly to ensure our beautiful home was pitched at the right price using the right strategy. Their knowledge of properties in the area is second to none and given we ended up moving to another house in the same area, their advice and recommendations during the whole process was invaluable. It was a fairly drawn out process given market conditions at the time, with lots of ups and downs, but we always knew Pettys were keeping us fully informed and looking out for us. The whole team were always available for a chat to discuss progress and pick us up when needed and we really appreciated that. Once the sale was agreed, Elaine and Janine in the sales coordinator team were also incredible. Not every estate agent has a sales coordinator team, but after our experience I wouldn’t choose an estate agent who doesn’t have one. Again they both worked tirelessly to ensure our sale (and purchase) were as smooth as possible, by helping the communication between all parties involved.
In conclusion, we thoroughly recommend Pettys for anyone looking to sell in the area and would like to give a big thank you to the whole team.

My entire experience dealing with Petty Son has been a true pleasure, from discussing the property marketing to agreeing the sale of my property. Both Cathrine and Greg from the Sales team have been extremely professional and helpful, that we had no doubt that we could place our trust in them.
During the inactive market times, the waiting time to agree to a sale can be daunting, but the timely communication from Petty Son really ensured that everything is under control and was being progressed to our expectation. I am extremely pleased that Petty Son found me the perfect buyer and have done a great job to follow through as the sales progress.

After I searched about Council Tax Band appeal I came across your website and information about how to appeal against my council tax band.
Many thanks for all the information on your website I have now successfully appealed and got my Council tax band altered from E band to D band.
VOA initially did not accept my first appeal to them then I took the case further to valuation tribunal then few months later before hearing date they accepted my appeal and agreed to alter my council tax band.
Very happy with the result.

PLEASE DON’T TRUST THEM!
On this hard time to rent a property, my partner and I fall in Love to one of their place. We called the agency in the morning to arrange a viewing and said they will call us back. Called again at the end of day and we’ve been told that as soon as they have a date, they assured us we don’t have to call again as they will contact us to be one of the first. The following day we called again before closing time to see on the off chance, and there viewings were full!! This is extremely unprofessional…. As least they should not have made a promise like this, super disappointed and upset.

I'd like to share a review as a buyer completing the purchase on a property in December.
The team at Petty Son and Prestwich were excellent to work alongside during the process of buying.
Firstly I found their agents to be diligent answering all questions on the two properties I'd viewed with them during the buying process in a timely manner, with full and honest answers. Agents were fully knowledgeable about the properties able to give accurate answers to my most detailed questions.
Secondly Petty Son had a higher quality of property available than other agents I'd viewed with in the area, after a point this allowed me to focus more of my search on properties they'd managed for sale.
Finally during the process of buying correspondence with staff who were responsible for assisting the close of the deal were absolutely brilliant. Elaine and Janine showed dedication and care to my desire to close the deal even in my position as a buyer, this made them easy and very helpful to work with.
Overall should I sell any properties in future I'd definitely be looking towards Petty Son as a potential agent, the team clearly takes pride in its work.

I'd recommend anyone trying to rent to stay clear. Miscommunication at its finest and office staff who try to speak over you when you've caught on that they are indeed not telling the truth.
1.Viewed a property late during the day and was told specifically no more viewings (this was a saturday)
2. Immediately submitted an offer
3. Told that no other offers had been submitted

As a new mom with a baby seeking a decent ground floor flat I was exciting to proceed. I almost didn't go through with another flat and glad I kept options open.
Very misleading. What followed after was just waffling through by the agents trying to convince me otherwise.
Perhaps we weren't ideal because of other external reasons which begs the question whether this is truly a fair company.

Avoid. Sent 3 separate enquiries about a property I was interested and all 3 were ignored. Never received any follow up at all. Appreciate some properties are snapped up quickly, but a simple courtesy call/e-mail letting me know wouldn't be too much to ask for. Whatever you do: DO NOT use this estate agent.
They leased me a flat for my 80 year old disabled father with no working intercom, no working fobs and no opportunity for a lockbox, meaning he would have been completely isolated and have no way of getting any care or support.
The staff lied about what they’d said and were unbelievably unhelpful. They left my dad homeless and me several thousand pounds out of pocket through deceit.
I am taking legal action and URGE you not to use them.

My neighbour personally recommended John, Pamela, Elaine and the team at Petty Son & Prestwich to handle the sale of my property on Hermon Hill.
Pamela and Elaine were my main point of contact in the sales office and both were incredibly helpful, professional and cheerful, even when navigating me through a potential Brexit minefield. I honestly believe that Elaine's negotiations saved my sale from collapse.
The whole team were up to speed on the transaction at any one point, and instilled trust and confidence in the process was away from the office. Petty Son bridged the gap in the conveyance process and were firm yet diplomatic, with the best interest of the client always in mind.

After showing interest in an apartment in Snaresbrook and arranging a viewing by phone, I received an email confirming the address and time for the viewing. As it turned out, I was given the wrong postcode and therefore arrived at the wrong address, a 20 minute walk away from where the property was actually located. I received a call from Du Preez Botha who asked me where I was and, after explaining to him that he had indeed given me the wrong postcode he said "well I had the same postcode as you and have never been here before myself and I've managed to find it". Although I should have checked the name of the road itself as well as the postcode, I did only use the postcode as I was using my google maps app. Estate agents are by nature rather arrogant people who know the rental market well, they have a lot of interest in each property. Having said this, if a mistake is made on one's part, one should accept this, not blame the client. He did apologise, although this didn't feel too sincere. I also work in a very busy office where I am responsible for providing addresses to clients. So a word of advice from me would be to: A. double check both the number / name and street name and B. make sure the postcode provided to a potential client matches the address. In this way the time wasted for both parties will be avoided.

Very positive experience renting a flat through Petty son and would definitely recommend them. The few maintenance issues were solved very quickly, check in and out were very professional and their fees are surprisingly very reasonable.
