This is the most diabolical firm that we have ever dealt with. They literally do nothing but stand in the way of progress. Not exactly sure what they take management fees for as they do absolutely NOTHING!!! Only gave 1 star as there wasn't an option for 0 stars!... Read more

I would just like to say how impressed I am with the first class service at Reeds Rains Hanley branch. I contacted them for a valuation with a view to putting our property on the market. Tom O'brien came to do my valuation and photographs for sale. Tom is extremely professional pleasant and very polite. Weird experience. Attended a property viewing with a view to purchase. Was told that a tenant lived at the property but the viewings are still done by the agency so someone would meet me there. I arrived, no one was there to meet me. I knocked and rang the bell, nothing. I called the agency and they said that the would call the person who was due to complete the viewing. 2 minutes later, the door opened. I was greeted, it was a polite exchange as I was introduced to the tenant. Tenant was lovely and within the first 5 minutes, told me about all the issues with the building. Which I appreciate because not many people are willing to share such information. The agent kept rolling his eyes and had a tight expression on his face, he was evidently unhappy about the exchange. At one point, he put his arm in my way, so that I couldn't proceed and he ran after the tenant to exchange some words - ie. Stop talking. You shouldn't be saying all that, what if it goes back to the landlord. She was ushered downstairs and the door was closed. He apologised to me and said that it was an unfair "assassination". The poor woman is clearly having to move out of a property which she has lived in for a long time. I sympathise and appreciate the honesty, especially regarding utility items which I can't test for myself. I couldn't view the bathroom, conservatory and garden - the main feature for us personally, because of an unfriendly dog who was locked in that part of the house. I asked if I could video call my partner to show him the property but I was told no, because the agent had to leave for his next viewing? I explained that I had been standing outside for 5 minutes so surely he could spare 5 minutes to let me call my partner? He asked why I hadn't knocked. I knocked and rang the bell "you clearly didn't knock hard enough". I asked if I could take a video of the property but I couldn't because it was an invasion of privacy, which is fair enough and I respect. In which case, if I can't take a video, again, can I call my partner. I'm not going to put an offer down if my partner can't view the property. No, that's also an invasion of privacy - it wasn't when I asked 2 minutes ago. 2 minutes ago, you had to run to your next viewing. Photos of the property are on Rightmove. This is a call with my partner, a potential buyer? Obviously I'm not going to place an offer on a house that 1) I can't view in full because of a dog that can't be placed on a lead or in a crate and 2) that I can't show to my partner. It was an extremely odd experience and a wasted trip.... Read more

Having sold a property 20 years ago through Reeds Rains, we approached them recently on my mum’s behalf to sell her house. Tom came out to value the property and was able to advise and reassure us regarding the sale. Contacting the office has always been easy and everyone we have dealt with - from the office staff to the men putting up the boards - has been helpful, courteous and friendly. Reeds Rains have been very considerate of my mum’s age - from Tom offering to sit with her during viewings should she want support, to David who conducted the viewings so professionally on the open day and made my mum feel safe and reassured The house went on the market and was sold within a week - for the price advised by the company. I would like to thank the team at Reeds Rains Hanley branch in Stoke On Trent. I wanted to sell my house quickly due to divorce and had already sought solutions for fast sales like these companies that buy in 7 days or 1 month etc. Each one offered market value but then towards sorting a deal dropped the offer based on ‘market climate’ or numerous excuses why the house would sell for £10-25,000 less than market value. I was completely deflated by these companies and decided to ring a local estate agent and ask for advice. I spoke to the manager ‘Tom’ who quickly told me to not give my house away, there’s still value in the property and to give him a chance to sell it fast within 2 months. I hesitated for a moment then felt it was the right thing to do based on the absolute common sense he told me regarding the market and he was 100% to word. He sold my house in the 2 month window and made me £10k more than I was being offered by the quick sell companies. I can’t thank him enough - he never pressured me and had all the time in the world for me to ease my mind. Thank you so much for everything you did for me. I’m so glad you talked me round. Please, if you are in a position where you need to sell quick - trust this branch. They deliver on their promises and I’m £10k richer thanks to their expertise and knowledge of the market place.
