This is in relation to the Edinburgh branch.
Both my wife and I requested the home report of a property we were interested in.
Savills opted not to respond, so we had assumed the report was not ready. Today, only a matter of days later, we phoned to chase and Savills Edinburgh informed us they had a home report ready and shared BUT had a bid in for the property which we were told was accepted.
In my view this is blatantly negligent and not acting in their client, the sellers, best interest where multiple parties may have bid.

Savills have been incredible at looking after myself and my girlfriend as we moved into our new apartment as tenants. From applying for the property, viewing it, accepting it, moving in, and check-in the service has been efficient, quick and kind. This move has been so free of stress thanks to them. Tiffany Rigg in the Edinburgh office has always replied to our text messages and emails quickly, even if it's just to say she'll get back to us when she's free. When we moved in the property needed a couple of points of attention and Wesley in the Manchester Office organised this promptly. Thank you Savills, and especially Tiffany, for a great letting experience and for providing proof that renting property does not need to be stressful and frustrating. It is the first time we have felt like we are working with the letting agent as opposed to against them.

Waited a year and a half to move into a new property in Kinross and was lied to constantly by the developer. Move was cancelled last minute by developer in Nov and it wasn't until Jan this year we found out that developer had built our house without the required stages being signed off. House had to be picked apart by building control officer which took weeks. Savills claimed not have had any knowledge of what the developer had done and yet all communication with the developer went through them! We were legally able to rescind missives in Feb due to the lengthy delays. We lost our dream home and Savills just left us to deal with the developer who owed us our reservation fee and flooring that we had paid for and was partly installed in the house. Had to get a lawyer involved as despite developer saying in writing he would refund us he didn't. After 3 months of waiting for our money it was finally returned but we have basically paid in fees to our lawyer what we were owed so have come out with nothing. Wrote a complaint letter to the the Head of RDS team 2 months ago and they didn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge it.
Extremely disappointed with the whole process and stunned that Savills choose to work with dishonest developers. Won't ever consider using Savills Edinburgh to purchase a property again.

As a tenant I'm really disappointed in Savills. We've been waiting over a month for a repair and they seem unable to coordinate a single appointment to fix it. They couldn't even be bothered to do the key handover themselves so a few things about the place are still mysteries to us.
So if you are sure you will never have a question about your apartment or need maintenance, by all means, go for Savills. If not, choose a company which makes a bit of an effort...

The Savills team was very efficient and helpful along the entire moving process. My only issue was the flat tour itself before I moved in. The owner at the time had left the place very messy and the lady giving the tour seemed less than interested in trying to sell the flat. Outside of the viewing, the Savills team answered all questions in a timely manner and were never difficult to reach. Solid experience.

I reserved a new build property through Savills in September 2021 and completed in July 2022. A large part of my decision to commit was based on the confidence I got from buying with Savills but alas this was massively misguided. While the quality of finish in the ‘luxury’ property was very poor, and this is not Savills' fault, it does accurately parallel their service and performance.
While the late delivery of the property was, again, not Savills' fault, their reporting of handover dates was absolutely terrible. On more than one occasion I had handover dates pulled at less than 48 hours notice and then moved back by several weeks. One notice about a failed handover date delivered by email as, apparently, a phone call to deliver the news wasn't the way to go.
Their view was that they could only work with the dates they were provided but as they were visiting site weekly it was abundantly clear that dates served were months off being realistic. Anyone with any experience of new build property, or anyone who has been in any form of house, for example, would have been able to see this. The constant stringing along was massively stressful as mortgage offers came and went and temporary housing options were exhausted.
All of this was set against a very intensive and pressured period at time of reservation where 28 days was required to conclude the missives and the seemingly more parts of the process, like choosing kitchens, tiles, flooring, etc, were shoehorned into an hour or so.
Post-completion we had some continued dealings with Savills acting as an intermediary for the developer where agreements were made on landscape drawings which have subsequently now changed. Written queries about this have gone unanswered.
Thankfully there has only been one instance where Savills omitted to tell us that the single road into the site would be closed for surfacing. I’m sure being trapped in a new development is one of those things that just happens so that’s got to be excusable.
My review is raised from one star to two as the people involved were personable and nice but wholly ineffective.
I absolutely could not work with Savills again based on this experience.

When I am confused about anything, they don’t like picking up my calls or emails. The property management person always gives me silent treatments.

Had a fantastic experience with the Lettings Dept in Edinburgh lead by Charles McCosh and his team. I initially tried letting my property out with a different agent (with a lower management fee) but not only did I not get a tenant after over a month, they were advising me to lower the asking price to below market value!

All I can say is if you are going through a life changing event , you need a friend, a calming presence, someone who will listen to your concerns ... I found all of these qualities in Harry Maitland who handled the sale of my home which I had been in for 35 years in a professional and caring manner, Harry understood all the emotional issues regarding selling a family home and he undertook every part of the journey in such a gentle,kind, non intrusive way, always letting me make the decisions but guiding me every step of the way. We recently sold our house in Stockbridge through Savills, the sale was handled by John Forsyth and I am happy to say it was one of the best selling experiences we've had. John was always on hand to talk through viewings and feedback and really helped us achieve the best possible price for our house. We can't recommend him and his team highly enough!

Excellent professional and courteous service from the first visit until the conclusion of the sale. Chris Thomson and the rest of the Savills team recognised the potential in the house and their advice about marketing, the preparation of the brochure and the organising of the viewings were all handled well - resulting in a rapid sale agreement at an appropriate price. While I hope not to need an estate agent for several years, I'd certainly choose them again if I did.

We are so happy we went with Savills to market our property because we met Eleanor Robertson, or Ele as we came to know her. She is a standout representative for Savills Edinburgh. Always bright and upbeat, she makes sure that vendors are kept right up to date after a viewing and goes the extra mile to ensure all goes smoothly. There is a real art in keeping both the vendor and the potential buyers happy during the viewing process and Ele hits the right note every time. We have had THE most positive experience dealing with her. Even if the call was to say that a buyer was not taking things further, Ele always managed to leave us feeling positive. Whether we want to buy or sell a property in the future, we will definitely put a call in to Savills, and Ele is a huge part of why we would do that. Ele, thank you, you are a star!

I'd like to thank the entire Savills Edinburgh team, led by Chris Thomson who was the agent, for their great work, positive attitude and tireless efforts helping coordinate the sale. The process was made more complicated by the fact that I am resident abroad and the property was rented out, however Chris and the team overcame all obstacles, big and small, and got the property under offer within a week of going onto the market.
