I am utterly appalled by the shockingly poor communication and blatant disregard for clients exhibited by this letting agency. From the outset, their attitude was dismissive, condescending, and wholly unprofessional. It is evident that they prioritize only the high-end properties, those exceeding £10,000 in rent per month or valued above £1.2 million leaving anyone outside of that bracket to receive subpar treatment at best.
The staff, including senior management, display a disturbing lack of professionalism and basic respect. Worse still, there is an unsettling undertone of discriminatory behavior in their dealings. It became increasingly clear that race and background influenced the way they treated clients, and the air of prejudice was undeniable. Such behavior is not only reprehensible but also illegal, and it is deeply concerning that they operate with such impunity.
It seems that the condescending behavior of the lower-level staff is a direct reflection of the abysmal leadership at the top. The managers are entirely incompetent, displaying a startling inability to handle even the simplest of requests. Promises are made casually, with no intention of follow-through, and their indifference is palpable.
The level of disrespect toward clients is staggering. It is clear that customer service and professionalism are foreign concepts to this agency. Their inability to communicate effectively and courteously, coupled with discriminatory attitude is both unprofessional and unacceptable. For an organization operating in such a competitive market, their lack of basic decency is not only surprising but deeply concerning.
I would strongly advise potential clients to steer clear of this agency unless, of course, you are willing to pay exorbitant amounts, as they seem to only extend any modicum of effort toward those with substantial financial means. If you're expecting a level of service that reflects their industry standing, you will be sorely disappointed.

I viewed a property with Kris Smith, unfortunately this property was not to my liking. Kris understood my requirements and soon after showed me another property, which I have just completed on.
This all happened in a very turbulent time in the property market. Kris and all the other staff in the office kept me up to date, helped with anything I was unsure of and were at the end of the telephone when I needed them.

Looking for support letting a property, we just happened to walk passed Savills in Harpenden. On a whim, we went in and met with Julian....in retrospect a great idea. He was immediately responsive to our needs and so we very quickly dropped any idea of going to other companies offering letting services.
Julian put in a lot of effort into guiding us through the process and was always available to discuss any issue.
He seems to understand the market very well and was able in a very short time to find us several good prospective tenants to choose from.

We recently came to the end of one letting and are about to start a new one. The team, led by Julian Tabesh, have done a fine job - sorting out everything that needed to be taken care of by the old tenants and making sure they did it, organizing contractors to do everything we wanted done in the 10-day gap between tenancies (complete inside re-paint, repair of garden fence, numerous minor repairs that were our responsibility as landlord), and finding a first-rate new tenant who will start this week. We would definitely recommend them to other property owners looking to let. We live in the US, so having a competent team working for us in Harpenden is vital.

Was very disappointed by the level of service. The communication while my house was being sold was approaching zero. They promised a lot and delivered very little relying very heavily on the 'Savills' brand which although positioned as a 'premium''high end' property estate agents, did not demonstrate all of the attributes of a Strutt and Parker, Whittaker & Co or a Hamptons all of which i have used and found to be far superior. Be careful of their commission too - you may find you are paying far more.

The branch provide an average service when they are processing your tenancy and taking your deposit etc.
Once in the property they hand you over to a property management team who are rude and won't even give access to energy meters to manage your own bills. Building poorly maintained and interior rarely cleaned, multiple other problems.

The Property was not on the market but having viewed a number of houses with both Ryan and Simone, they came up with this unusual home. Savills will introduce a groundless claim to your landlord for withholding your deposit.
Savills will then support the landlord's groundless claim to keep your cash.
The excellent work of Simone and Holly (see below) was profoundly undermined by the property management team which at the end of a tenancy works with your landlord to find reasons not to return your deposit. When moving, you do not need the additional stress involved in utterly avoidable battles with a faceless suit, to prevent them from withholding your cash.
I challenged three claims to withhold deposit from my last letting. The groundless nature of these was clearly illustrated by the speed that Savills capitulated and returned my money.
Makes me wonder how many people cave, and the thousands lost each year to tenants as a result...?
Following Savills engagement with this review, they stuck hard to their guns, blaming any desire to withhold deposit on the landlord, suggesting that they did not make any suggestion to landlords of for what they may be able to withhold deposit or how much. I was not convinced.
They also defended the inflated prices they attempted to charge, claiming they follow industry standards. By way of example, they will attempt to charge you £65 if they think the washing machine smells a bit funny. (For the record it didn't.)
Savills is clearly willing to sacrifice its reputation in support of landlords' groundless claims to withhold your deposits.
Fairs fair, however, up until the end of the tenancy, they were very good.... Here's what I wrote at the beginning:
Helpful, knowledgable, efficient. For what more could you ask when renting a new place? Special mention to Simone McClellan and Holly Siddons for enabling a very rapid and smooth transition to my new home!

Choosing Savills and the excellent Harpenden team led by Kris was one of those.
Their knowledge of the area and potential buyers meant the pricing was right, interested buyers were profiled and ready which meant an offer was accepted within 5 days and during those days we felt fully informed on each viewing (we had 8)
Then we had lockdown and the associated challenges to contended with. Again the Savills team were brilliant at finding solutions and keeping a chain together.

They wanted paper copies of utility bills (who has those anymore?) and then refused one of my documents because it was addressed to a shortened version of my name that did not exactly match my passport. My husband had an ever harder time because none of the utility bills were in his name - so he sent an official letter from the United States Government which they would not accept!

Savills are our long-standing agents for a property on Hatching Green. They have taken care of many issues for us over the years. Recently there was one particularly difficult issue regarding extensive work to re-point a chimney stack. The work of one contractor had to be completely re-done by another. Faye Wilkin, our relationship manager at Savills, managed out the first contractor, and they withdrew their bill for the work. The condition of the stack is now tip-top. Russell Sleigh

I would like to thank Simone at Savills in Harpenden for her assistance in finding me to find a rental house for a family member moving home from abroad. Having seen how difficult this was for me to achieve in such a fiercely competitive and fast moving rental market, Simone showed a real interest in helping and removed a lot of the stress from the process. In a world where agents often seem only to serve the interest of the seller/landlord, i was delighted to find an agent that treated me fairly and made me feel as though i was also a client of the firm.

Dismissive and rude when we asked them about lettings to a group of professional sharers. "We just don't get landlords who are looking for sharers" - even when those sharers are willing to pay over the asking price? Might be worth *asking* your landlords rather than dismissing us out of hand.
