If you are thinking of putting your house on the market in Bury St Edmunds, do not think twice about speaking to Sheridan’s! They were a total breath of fresh air within a very challenging market. Our house was valued by the lovely Kathryn; we felt she suggested a fair and realistic price, though it was more her charming character and professionalism that reassured us we were in good hands.
The photographs taken for the listing were incredible and stood out compared to similar listings on Rightmove etc. The viewing guide, Iain, was super - it was clear he took time to do his ‘homework’ on the property and local area, and from subsequent experience searching for onward property, other viewing guides rarely made as much effort as Iain.
Their communication throughout the process was fantastic and we were always given prompt feedback following viewings. We would like to thank both Kathryn’s, Jo, and Claire in particular for their incredible service. We were lucky enough to receive multiple offers a one stage and they handled the negotiation brilliantly. Claire especially stood out as going above and beyond in this part of the process.

An unfortunate and very poor experience as a prospective buyer. We booked a viewing of a property around 10 days in advance as we were driving from London to Suffolk in order to visit it.
We were shown round on the day by a very nice gentleman from Sheridans and I cannot fault his service. We liked the property, only to be phoned straight away and told that an offer had already been agreed prior to us arriving and we had ONE HOUR to make a decision whether we'd like to offer. We'd only just left the house! As it goes, there was absolutely no negotiation to be done, we were just strung along, despite us being in an excellent position with no chain. It was a completed deal and a clear tactic to increase the price.
I appreciate that the job of the estate agent is to act on behalf of the seller and squeeze as much price as possible from a sale but to be used as a pawn in that game, and the lack of courtesy was astonishing. I expect we pushed the price up so maybe as a seller that's what you really want. We don't mind missing out on a purchase, this is part and parcel of the housing market and we've been here before but treated with considerably more respect.
However, it's such a disappointment from our point of view in the way this was handled. To not be informed of the position, prior to wasting 4 hours on the road and the sellers being at home whilst we viewed, knowing it was a waste of time and that we'd driven so far with 2 children in tow.

A member of your staff, Kathryn I believe, was very unprofessional during a recent enquiry. She denied me a viewing, and then went on to question and judge my personal views on what I thought was acceptable during Covid in terms of viewing a house. I would never expect any estate agent to ever speak in this way as you are supposed to be professionals.

After an initial good start, we feel when the sale of our house was going through the sales progression throughout was very poor.
My wife then emailed her concerns to the MD with no response whatsoever.
When paying over £5000 to sell your house, you expect a better service, would this be the case if ours was a million pound house, I expect not.

Sheridans is a must if you selling or buying a property service with an old fashioned customer service with what I feel is the best of the coverage for selling your house and great information for the buyer. If a buyer or seller the team are wonderful head and shoulders above the competition. They give you their knowledge a reassurance and second to none great neigations skills just a must. If you fancy something a little different from the normal Sheridans is a must. You don't sell or buy often so pick the best pick Sheridans

Our house was for sale while the market was very challenging due to uncertainty caused by Brexit so it was complicated but Sheridans qualified each potential customer so thoroughly which meant most viewings ( and we had over 50) were serious potential buyers. We had offers and good prices but many times the potential buyers could not sell their own house because of the uncertain market but Sheridans kept us up-to-date and were discreet and understanding of our own situation. I cannot recommend Adrienne Newman highly enough for her viewings and sensitivity to us. She was wonderful and I believe a major reason why we got so many offers. Sheridans do their homework. A huge thankyou to everyone with special thanks to Adrienne, Caroline and Saskia who were always so polite and pro-active. Matt gave sensible advice and kept us informed. We would definitely not hesitate to use Sheridans again.

Our chain was long, complicated and did not go smoothly, through no fault of Sheridans. However, Matt and his super efficient team took the stress of moving for us. Sheridan’s went above and beyond to ensure our sale went ahead, I felt entirely safe in their hands and trusted them to do right by us. Their honesty and integrity as a company seems rare in the current housing market and it is these intrinsic values which mean that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them (I already have) or indeed use them again. They truly were the glue that kept our chain together reassuring us and updating us along the way and I remain forever grateful to them.
