Have been working with the lettings team in the Chiswick branch for over 15 years and they have consistently provided an excellent service over these years and continue to do so today.

Sam was excellent in the lead up to us securing our new rented home. I cannot say anything negative about Sam or our experience with Townends up until after we'd moved into the property. We have had ongoing issues though since moving in. Our contact at Townends that was supposed to see us through the settling in period would not return emails, so eventually we were put in contact with someone else who did respond. We still however have outstanding issues and no response from Townends for more than a week now. Issues: We were told when viewing the property that it would be professionally deep cleaned and the bedroom carpet replaced. The carpet was not replaced or even cleaned, and the apartment was not handed over in a professionally clean state, as attested to by the check in clerk. We want the contract changed so that we are not obliged to pay for a professional clean when we exit the property, and the carpet cleaned. No response. Maintenance issues including light not working, door not closing properly causing a light to remain on 24/7, damage to kitchen cupboards outstanding and awaiting a response from Townends. I have requested a meeting with Townends due to the lack of effectiveness at resolving issues through email, but no response. Some of the delays could be landlord related, but the lack of communication from Townends is quite bad, unless they are contacting for something that they require. When we first visited Townends Chiswick to enquire about properties, another tenant called into the office and was quite angry at being ignored via email. I thought at the time this must be a 'one-off'. Sadly it's looking like it may be common practise.

We're looking to buy in Chiswick eventually, not quite ready but when we do we will most certainly be using Tom at Townsends. If I'm being honest I've always had a bad view on estate agents from past experience but Tom was a breath of fresh air, obviously knows his stuff and was a pleasure to talk to

I dealt mostly with Arthur who was so accommodating to my schedule and very professional however all of the staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
