Unable to recommend. Great dealing with Robert and Peter until a sale agreed, after which the tumbleweed set in. No contact at all, myMove portal not updated, no updates, nothing. Took buyers back to unoccupied property without a courtesy call to let me know. Later found out they had significant staff shortage after a couple of departures. If someone had told me that, the review might be kinder, taking that into account. But they didn't.
Since leaving the review I've had an apology phone call, further explaining the temporary staffing difficulties they had. Wishing them well in getting everything back to a better level of service

Have had an awful experience. We were bombarded with calls not even 20minutes after they had offered us the house and both my partner and I said we would pay the holding deposit as soon as we got a minute at work. It is important to note my partner drives for work so in order to pay he would have to be parked up and stopped but they continuously called him whilst he was working. They took the offer off us within two and a half hours (even though the money for the holding deposit had come out of my account still) after claiming they had been waiting 'hours'. It has been three weeks and I have still not received my money. I have complained to their company and had no response. Absolutely appalled by the lack of professionalism and the 'threats' we received. Due to lack of response I have now had no choice but to report this to the Property Ombusman and Property Mark so this does not happen to anyone else.

(This relates to lettings, NOT sales.) Your Move offers a market comparable management fee, but what they don't tell you upfront is the price gouging. There is a fee for literally everything ... which are generally free at other agents. Want to renew your tenant's lease? 300 pounds. A rental increase? - 240 pounds Maintenance - add 10% for their fees. Want to leave due to poor customer service - even if the tenant is NOT under a lease (can understand if the tenant is under a lease) but a whopping 2 months rent (not two months of management fees, but two months of the tenants rent!!!) which can be thousands of pounds. Put it another way, because it is so expensive to leave, they know most landlords won't ... which provides no incentive for good customer service.

He and Rob came to the house to carry out the valuation and take the photos. Both explained the whole process clearly and concisely and answered all of our questions perfectly.
Peter was our main contact abs he was always at the end of a phone call, text or email and able to offer advice, support or an update as to where the case was. His reassurance throughout the whole process was fantastic and his professionalism, extremely reassuring. So impressed with this branch (Hitchin). We sold a probate property which was difficult enough, however the care and professionalism showed by the team at Hitchin was second to none. The initial meeting was held in the back garden during lockdown but nothing was missed. Every detail was covered and we were kept informed every step of the way. Feedback was shared and stats from Right Move communicated regularly. Having also a property on the market in Devon at the same time, it's very easy for us to compare the experience and Your Move were by far the better Agents. I would definitely recommend. I had an appointment today to view a property at 12:00.
Firstly I was sent the wrong address via email, I called up and asked them to confirm the correct address they did this.
I arrived at the location at 11:55, and I waited until 12:09; there office is very near to the property.
It was raining so I went back to my car.
I did not receive a call or a email from the agent, to state why they were late or did not attend, I drove past the property at 12:15 and I saw no letting agent.
It’s a shame I had to receive such poor treatment, after travelling over to view their property.
I wasted my time and my petrol for no reason.

My experience with your move especially the Hitchin branch was very poor. In short words they are con artists. I will advice anyone using them to read contracts carefully before signing. They will attempt to summarise the contract but take your time to read it. The work in favour of the landlord and know how to cover them selves. Do not take their words read the contract. When in dispute with your landlord they do not help rather side with the landlord against the tenants. Even if they know and can see that the landlord is in the wrong they don’t help. They are very helpful and quick to respond when it comes to moving in once you have moved in they do not care. I do regret using yourmove Hitchin

I have just sold my Stevenage House through “Your Move” of Hitchin. Apart from saying many thanks to Robert Cowell and his excellent team, I wish to inform you of my experiences. I had five local agents to value my property. Mr Cowell was by far the most professional and took time to consider market trends and to supply me the best valuation. Most of the other agents seemed to supply me with valuations that suited them and for a very speedy sale. Your Move gave me the highest valuation, in excess of £45K compared with the lowest suggested selling price. It took about eight weeks to find the correct buyer and at a figure, higher than my asking price. Your Move conducted all of the viewings on my behalf, giving me a feedback within 24 hours. Peter Dalton (Assistant Manager) worked tirelessly for me, so did Linda, The Sales Progressor.
Just to sum up, Thank you so much, Your Move of Hitchin. A great job achieved by all.

As a landlord i needed to find an agent that i had confidence in to find a tenant quickly, but the right tenant for me at the same time as offering a service that made me feel confident.
As soon as i approached Your Move i i knew from the beginning it was the right company for me.
My main point of contact with Your move was Lianne but the whole office team (not forgetting Brendan) are exceptionally good at keeping you informed during the process. Lianne is very passionate about what she does and goes ‘above and beyond’ to provide exceptional service every step of the way, and provides very honest and constructive advice to you.
The end result was that a tenant for the property was found within a week and moved in a few days later. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Your move if you are looking for a letting agent in the Hitchin area.

Consummate professionals. Not a phrase I thought I would ever use to describe estate agents! However, this is apt for Your Move. From the very start Peter Dalton had a realistic take on our property, had plans on how to market it and ideas to promote it which far exceeded other estate agents who gave a market valuation. Peter’s negotiation of the sale was exemplary and client focussed throughout. All this culminated in a sale that took 7 weeks from first meeting Peter to completion – and this has happened during Covid. This in itself speak volumes.
Meanwhile, praise also has to go to Rob Cowell, the Manager of Your Move, for his excellent photographs and Linda Knight who progressed the sale and kept in touch with all parties throughout the process.
One of the main features of You Move is the team spirit – very evident. All staff were across the sale throughout the transaction.
I cannot think of one fault or gripe to attribute to Your Move – “particular and exacting” are how I would describe my character!

I don't think you can do better than these people. I've bought and sold 4 properties and rented 3 times so "this isn't my first rodeo". Everyone in the Your Move (Hitchin branch) I've spoken to or exchanged emails with have been excellent. Robert showed me round the property dispite covid restrictions, had great knowledge of the property, the area, the lease, the management company, the current owner, and he was straightforward open and honest. He also has an enviable beard! Whenever I emailed with issues or queries, Peter responded quickly and professionally and escalated within third parties to get the right attention. If I remember correctly it was also he who was patient and professional while the vendor and I were haggling back and forth over small sums and minor contents. The solicitors I ended up with (Premier Property Lawyers Ltd) were ... let's keep it family friendly, "not good". However Linda at Your Move was amazing. When I was reaching the end of my tether she stepped in worked some magic and in a day we were within touching distance of exchange. I can't thank her enough. If it weren't for her I would probably be piling my stuff into a rental van and driving up the M1 to move into the reception of the solicitors right now. Instead I'm in the lounge of my new home, a couple of celebratory glasses of bubbly in. Thank you thank you thank you :-)
As I said at the start I don't think you can hope for better. I hope to be living where I am for some time but if I'm ever selling or renting it out in the future, I'll be calling them and I hope if I buy a property again it's being sold by this team.
They are nothing like "Estate Agents", they are like normal people, but better.

My Mother recently sold her house that she had lived in for 35+ years through Your Move Hitchin. I wrote to them to thank them for the amazing service my Mother and I received from them from start to finish.
Here is the letter I wrote.
"Dear Linda, Robert and Peter,
I would like to take this opportunity to write to you, so that I can wholeheartedly say a massive thank you regarding your truly expert handling of the sale of my Mother's house.
As sole agents we couldn't have wished for a better estate agent than Your Move, Hitchin.
At first we didn't consider having a sole agent to sell my Mother's house as you know. Once the chosen agents had visited my Mother and explained their service and how they operate, then when Rob took those stunning property photos, we knew that all three of you stood head and shoulders above any other estate agent we had encountered in Hitchin. My Mother and I agreed that it would have been counter productive to have sold her house on a 2 agent basis. Your Move were appointed, rightly so, as sole agents. It was one of the best decisions we've made.
Rob, you came back early one beautiful summer morning to take more photographs, so that you could capture the full beauty of my Mum's house and the fabulous elevated views from it of Windmill Hill. The initial photos you took were easily as good as any professional photographer could have taken. They were perfect. But, oh my, the second lot of the outside ones you took that summer morning took my breath away! With the vibrant blue sky and early sunshine as the backdrop, they leapt off the Rightmove website. I'm guessing not many, if any other agent would have gone that extra mile and act on their instinct like you did. Needless to say, it worked. My Mother's house sold within a short time of Your Move Hitchin being instructed as sole agent to sell it and within several days I recall, from when Rob's summer morning photos went online.
Peter, I would like to thank you for carrying out the property viewings so professionally. My Mother told me how you were approachable, friendly, courteous, competent and informative to both her and the people who visited to view her house. Indeed, you showed the buyers of her house around on a Saturday. My Mother told me that you were talking with them after their viewing for some time. Nothing was too much trouble for you, even on a weekend. Huge thanks Peter, that extra time you gave them helped to secure the house sale.
Linda, you too have been magnificent also. (My Mother's description). You totally kept both solicitors on track. Fielded what seemed like endless questions and absolutely got my Mother through her house sale. You really were a solid rock that kept everything going in the right direction. You were always so approachable, competent, experienced and calm.
All three of you have been superb throughout my Mother's house sale process from start to finish. Rob explained to me how he had carefully arrived at the price the property was to go on the market for. This needed such careful thought as my Mother's house is unique. It's detached and not on an estate, so no real comparables exist.
My Mother and I truly feel that Your Move estate agent Hitchin branch, really do the right thing for their clients, the sellers and their buyers. Anyone can sell a property if they under value it. Your Move Hitchin evidently made sure that my Mother's house went on the market at a fair and justified price. I wish all estate agents had your ethical stance. Thank you.
When I called the office in the early days, if the three of you weren't there, my call was answered by Your Move's lettings staff. They too always introduced themselves clearly on the phone, took messages and never forgot to pass on exactly what I had asked to be relayed to one of you.
Thank you and thanks to all at your Hitchin branch staff. Every one there in our view, were faultless during my Mother's house sale.

God awful... me and my partner have been nothing but spoken to rudely, more attitude than you’d believe... the law means nothing to them falsely charged us money a few times their accounts must be 5 years old because their maths is so bad and can’t work out a simple sum our rent was £700 and we was due to move out on the 15th of a 31 day month and they said we’d have to pay £400 something because “the accountants said so” but the simple maths works it out to be £338.71 even though we sent a letter to tell them we was moving out on our rent due day which was the 1st but the letter “didn’t show up” a lie which was proven by the investigation that the Royal Mail carried out. they then charged us £120 exiting fee which is against the law of which I found out prior to paying it but even worst they then deducted a further £120 from my security deposit (which is against the law as the deposit can only be deducted from for expenses to the landlord for repairs or unpaid rent and not the letting agents) I have now been waiting more than 3x the amount of time for my FULL security deposit to be returned to me as agreed by the landlord because YOURMOVE are being funny about returning it I’ve been on the phone with them countless times about my deposit to be told each and every time “you’ll get it back when it comes I told you before 3-5 working days” 35 working days later still being told the same thing by the same rude person... don’t even get me started on Brendan lord have mercy this guy has a problem with his attitude towards people... they need to be taught the law and taught how to treat people who want to do business with them AVOID THESE SCUMBAGS AT ALL COSTS THEY ARE OUT ON A BID FOR MONEY AND PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE LAW. DO NOT BE FOLD BY SOME OF THESE REVIEWS AS THEY ARE FAMILY MEMBERS OF STAFF THAT WORK FOR THE COMPANY OR ACTUAL STAFF MEMBERS

This company is an authentic fraud. Please do not rent any property or real estate with them because eventually they're going to cheat you all. It's completely verified. "Your Move" isn't a trustworthy company.
Dealing with them has been the worst experience I've ever had in my entire life. They take the money from you, lie and cheat. We're going to take legal action against this company. It's the worst company you can do business with.

I work as an engineer in an important company and wanted to rent a flat with "Your Move". I asked some previous people for information and I've seen emails where Brendan Dowson and Steve require the money to rent a flat very quickly and later they don't want to give it back because the house they showed wasn't correct and they didn't say the truth and they don't respect the law trying to cheat people. I've got proofs for anyone if needed. Please do not rent with them.

I can prove the terrible experience with Brendan Dowson y Steve regarding Eduardo Erimo's case. He was cheated by these two persons and they took from him an important amount of money relative to a house's rent. Eduardo is currently working for Airbus. I can certify this company is not trustworthy and it could be very risky do business with them

Purchased a property through them. Not very helpful or professional. They can be bullish when nearing completion, sending you countless emails/telephone calls of pressuring you. A guy called Rob was rude; no telephone courtesy, sounded like a bailiff.

Please do not waste your time using this company, the staff are unbelievably incompetent and the customer service is absolutely shocking, on two occasions staff members pretended to be on holiday in order to avoid our requests. With outrages fees and almost no compliance to maintenance requests, this leaves one with a feeling of being seriously done over.Not to mention a biased inventory company that they use that almost guarantees that most of your deposit will be lost, we still haven't received our deposit back and it has been almost four months now.
