Communication - I was always chasing Connells for feedback and status updates. It took a week for me to find out why an offer fell through. It was never clear what their strategy was when we had issues selling our property.
Advertising - the photos were not good quality. They were washed out, distorted and didn't reflect the size of our property. I also noticed our listing wasn't on Onthemarket.com which seemed like a real miss.
Viewings - we had 20+ viewings in 3 months but only 2 offers. They were allowing people who hadn't even sold their property to view ours which was a total waste of time. Complete lack of strategy.

I have found some estate agents to be all about the sale and provide little knowledge or care about the property and area they are selling, let alone taking the time to get to know a potential purchaser and what is right for them. Paul from Connells, Hitchin however has restored my faith and has proved to have an outstanding knowledge of the properties and areas he has showed us, as well as taking the time during and after viewings to discuss them. To date the service I have received has been very good. Paul, the agent I have been dealing with, has been honest, open and straight forward with me, I could wish for no more.
Paul has just phoned me to inform me that he has already got someone wishing to view my property, only a couple of hours after it went on the market.

What a team at hitchin!! My partner and I have been looking for a house in hitchin for 18 months now, I regularly contacted several agents in hitchin to see if they had anything coming onto the market and the only one that ever kept us informed was Connells! I’m absolutely delighted the time they had taken worked out to be a sale through them! If in the future we sell our property we’re only going to one place! Professional, Helpful and Knowledgeable is just a few words i would use to describe the team at Connells in Hitchin.
Louisa on the sales team found me an investment property. She was very helpful and i could not fault her. She then passed me onto her colleague Myah in the lettings team who managed to let the property very promptly.
Excellent team work - Would 100% recommend !!!!!

Great, Responsive and Helpful service. Our washing machine was broken on the Tuesday. After making contact with Connells, they got in contact with the Landlord and arranged a replacement to be sent out and organised a tradesman to install the washing machine within 1 day! After 2 days, the washing machine has been installed, that is what I call fantastic service!!

My first time experience of selling my property! Paul explained the procedures ! Paul’s team Gemma & Louisa is so helpful! Connells have very cost effective Agent fees no additional cost! Their after sales services are excellent!
I put on sale near the end of February and offer accepted in the middle of May and contract completed middle of August. Less than six months we achieved what we wanted!

I must say, what a refreshing experience. Jonathon and his team were exceptionally polite. professional and helpful throughout.
We did hit a few bumpy patches but Paul and Louisa were very quick in smoothing these over and ensured our sale and purchase carried on the correct course.

The lettings team were incredibly helpful and friendly. They worked around my schedule and helped me find multiple tennants for my property within a week. They then got them moved into the property exactly when requested.

Unfortunately I am not able to give zero stars against this company. They are a bunch of absolute liars and only think about lining their pockets. Winter without heating, weeks not able to use a bathroom, (this was AFTER the landlady gave the go ahead) consistently rude and contradict themselves at every turn. They always look to pass blame to anyone but themselves. I would be highly surprised if the Landlady hasn't been completely shafted too. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Please do not let your property through connells the service is disgraceful. No communication no one ever calls you back. They charge you money to mange your property and then you end up managing it yourself. They hold on to your money for days before you they allocate it to you even know your contract states an agreed date for you to receive your rent. If the rent is late you have to constantly chase them they don’t contact you. Extremely poor service!!!

I recently sold my house through Connells. Paul Bonney and his staff were all excellent from start to finish and extremely professional throughout the sale.
Paul visited initially and explained the process in a straightforward manner which was very helpful and easy to understand.
Whilst the process was ongoing Paul was in regular contact and helped with any issues that arose through solicitors.
The house went up for sale in mid August and we completed at the start of December, which I felt was more than reasonable. Thanks to Paul and the team the sale was made a lot easier and all went smoothly.

Absolutely great! I recently moved to Hitchin with my partner and the Connells in Hitchin were amazing. Their customer service is second 2 none and did their best to make sure everything was understood. Me and my partner bought our first home and those from connells helped us with every step of the process, going above and beyound and making it an enjoyable time, even tho moving for the first time can be stressful.
Thy helped with every call my partner made no matter how often and also made us laugh along the way.
Defiantly will be going with them again when we look to move in from our first home.

I recently used Connells in Hitchin to purchase my first home with my partner. The service I received was professional, friendly and truly fantastic. Buying your first property can be a daunting experience. Connells, in particular Callum, was an amazing support through the expected highs and lows of the experience. We decided to use Connells in house mortgage consultant, Sharfique. Sharfique was professional and ensured we understood everything, accepting without prejudice 1000 calls a day from me for him to help my understanding.
If you are looking to buy a home and want second to none customer service, I highly recommend Connells of Hitchin. If you manage to get Callum and Sharfique too, well that is just an added bonus.
I look forward to working with you again when I eventually move on from this property!

I instructed the to market my property for sale, when I had a tennant in place I advised them that viewings would need to be through the tennant in future. I was NOT epecting them to knock on the door see the property was occupied but nobody home and PROGRESS with a viewing. This they DENIED .The potential purchaser informed me when she viewed through a different agency this had taken place. I requested my keys be returned, this never happened, I spoke with Head Office and again 5 days later STILL no keys. I then called Head Office again. Happy to provide my contact info.
