22nd Oct 2025 (26 days ago)Very disappointed with my selling experience with McEwan Fraser. I paid for the upgraded service and definitely did not feel this was value for money. I think all estate agents aren't very good, but I couldn't with a clean conscious suggest McEwan Fraser to anyone. It would often take at least 24hrs for someone to get back in touch with me (sometimes almost a week) and if I called after 6 then the only option was for them to ask someone to call me back the next day. This is one of the key selling points of their upgraded package and it was a total waste of money.
19th Apr 2022 (3 years ago)Could not recommend this landlord at all for a domestic rental. Negligent from the get go, reported smoke alarm several times but they didn’t care to fix it. Agent at the time of entry made a note of it and did nothing putting 2 adults and 4 children at risk. If I could give zeros stars I would have, avoid at all costs. Try to use scare lingering tactics to recoup deposits, fabricating pictures that again where present before we took on the proeprty

9th Jun 2019 (6 years ago)Do not trust this company. We dealt with the previous iteration of the owners company and are now being left to clean up their mess. We should have gotten rid of them sooner.... leaving this review in the hope that other landlords won’t have to deal with the loss of over £2000 in rental payments plus the stress of figuring out what to do with our tenant now... even with the loss of rent I still may have left a good review if Amanda and Craig has worked with us to help figure things out (or even provide the tenants details) but the only response to any communication that we have is to essentially gloat that their old company doesn’t exist and there is no recourse for us. Pretty poor behaviour for a human being never mind a business owner.

His approach is entirely customer-focused, and his level of service goes far beyond what most agents deliver. He recently sold a family property that was deeply sentimental to me, and the care he showed throughout the process was exceptional. Scott personally handled everything from selecting the photos and writing the listing content to conducting every viewing himself. The result was a sale handled with real understanding, tact and professionalism. From his first valuation and market guidance to achieving nearly 10% over the Home Report value, every part of his work was first class. Scott is a pleasure to work with, outstanding at what he does, and my go-to estate agent in Scotland. I’d recommend him without hesitation.

Gave them a quick call and they laid out loads of solid investment options with proper returns, not the usual fluff you get from other places. They know their market inside out and make it really easy to compare deals. If you’re into building long-term income, these guys are definitely worth speaking to.

15th Nov 2025 (2 days ago)Extremely unprofessional experience with agent Alan Shields. We had a viewing booked for the 8th, but the agent, Alan Shields, moved it to the 13th because he was on holiday. We accepted this without any issue. On the 13th he informed us that he was travelling to Aberdeen and would contact us later that day to arrange a new viewing time. He never contacted us — we waited the entire day. Later we found out that the flat was already marked as under offer. At no point did he inform us that the property status had changed, even though he knew we were waiting for the rescheduled viewing. On the 14th, around lunchtime, I sent him a message asking for an update. He replied that he would call me “soon”, but he never called at all. We later learned that an offer was made on the 14th. This means we never even had the chance to view the property because the agent failed to keep his commitments and completely failed to communicate. He doesn’t even know how much we would have offered — because he never gave us the opportunity to view the flat or express our interest properly. I can’t believe how some adults behave like children—ignoring responsibilities, making excuses, and causing unnecessary problems. It’s frustrating to see such immaturity and lack of professionalism from someone who should know better. We rearranged our schedules twice and were genuinely interested in the property, but we were never given the opportunity to make an offer. This behaviour is unacceptable and reflects extremely poorly on the agency. I would not recommend them based on this experience.
