14th Jan 2021 (4 years ago)Found that viewing were being booked but some never showed, offers were being made but always mysteriously disappear or are not chased back. Just lost confidence completely. The feedback was vague also.

23rd May 2025 (21 days ago)We used Taylor and Wood Hyde to sell our house, they handled most of the viewings and kept in touch with the progress of the sale, the house was sold pretty quickly and the service we were given was top notch,i would certainly recommend Taylor and Wood Hyde for any future sales.

21st May 2025 (23 days ago)2nd Review 2025: I strongly believe Victoria Ashworth at Countrywide is the best mortgage adviser out there! I have spoken to more advisers than I can count on my hands over the last few years and none of them came close to advising me/getting me what I need like Victoria does, and she does this over and over! I don’t know how she does it, she always provided the best advice/rates/borrowings much better than anyone else, she is amazing! I never enjoy the process of buying houses as I’m sure most people don’t, it causes me stress and worry but the trust and faith I have in Victoria allows me to relax a significant amount as I know everything is in good hands! She communicates brilliantly, is quick and thorough, full of knowledge and as a result provides the most amazing service! The lifetime fee is well worth it as i wouldn’t want to use anyone else. Nothing is too much trouble, my endless questions are answered with speed, she even went as far as asking what changes she could make to better accommodate me after learning I am neurodivergent. Her knowledge, professionalism and expertise are second to none! Victoria and therefore country wide was recommended to me by multiple people the first time I purchased a property and I now recommend to everyone going forward. I first met with Victoria as a sole first time buyer, quite young, no idea if I could even get a mortgage, not a clue as to what the processes would be like when buying a house. None of the many mortgage advisers elsewhere could get me a borrowing high enough to buy so much as a flat. Victoria got me a lending significantly higher than everyone else, advised me to suit my needs and circumstances at the current time and got me the best rate on my house. Truly I wouldn’t have managed it without her and not only that she guided and advised me throughout the full process, going above and beyond to respond to all my queries/worries and occasional mental breakdowns when Solicitors/estate agents were not so helpful. I have since returned with different circumstances and once again she has pulled it out the bag in getting me what I need and is once again so quick and friendly in answering my endless questions and providing me with the best financial advice. The service she provides never faults and is consistently exceptional. To add I appreciate the emails I receive every few months, a benefit of the membership, that checks to see if I am benefiting from the best rate. Countrywide feels like a service that really does have your best interests at heart and you feel confident you are receiving the best advice. If you are looking to purchase a property or remortgage I would recommend countrywide a thousand times over and if you are within or surrounding the Tameside area then I would advise everyone to go and speak to Victoria within the Bridgefords Stalybridge branch specifically, you won’t regret it! 1st review 2022: Could not recommend Victoria as a mortgage adviser more! From start to finish, getting me a mortgage as a sole buyer, guiding me through everything and answering my millions of frantic messages! She was great and I couldn’t be more grateful! Worth every penny as I don’t think I could have handled the stress on my own! Thank you so much! You are amazing!!

2nd Nov 2018 (6 years ago)Been dealing with/working with Waltons for years from my time at the council and also running my own business. I have always found Martin and Kate to be very knowledgeable and refreshingly work very hard to promote 'betterment' for their business and their customers/clients also for the areas where they have properties. In my opinion, they are certainly the most reputable commercial agents in Tameside and very knowledgeable and experienced and speak common sense.

Guy Owen in the building surveying team was very professional and responsive throughout, providing us with a detailed report and offering advice in a timely manner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Guy.

4th Jun 2025 (9 days ago)I am absolutely disgusted with Bettermove!! They offered to buy my house for a fixed price, having deducted 20%! Which is what I told them I wanted a 'quick' sale. They offered of 2 options. Or, they said they could market it for a month AND actually LIED and stated they HAD investors INTERESTED in MY property!! Within a week I realised they had NO investors!! So, when the 'month' was up I asked if they would buy the house for the price they had stated instead. They said they would take a FURTHER 20% off AGAIN!!! Had they told me this would happen in the first place I would've just sold it to them!!! AND, in the process, they have DEVALUED the market value of my house!!! I think its absolutely disgusting that they seem to act without any conscience. They lie and are not up front with what the options really are. They have set my house selling back by possibly years now!! If there were an Ombundsman or official way to report them I would do so!
30th May 2025 (14 days ago)A Truly Horrible Renting Experience... I rented a house through My Property Club, and it was by far the worst renting experience I’ve ever had in the UK. When my daughter and I first viewed the property, it didn’t seem too bad at first glance. I assumed, like most people would, that it would be cleaned before we moved in. There were two filthy fridges, but the agent assured us they would be replaced. After we paid a £300 holding fee for the checks, we were told the fridges would actually stay — take it or leave it. At that point, we were desperate for a place to live, and walking away meant losing that money. So we accepted the property. When we got the keys, the house was shockingly dirty — I've never been in such a neglected place. Even after 10 people helped clean it, it still felt filthy. Within a few weeks, the drain was blocked and toilet paper started flooding the garden. The tap was leaking and took over a month to get fixed. The roof was leaking and they never resolved it, leaving the house smelling of mold and damp constantly. Communication was poor. Every time I contacted the agency, they passed responsibility to the landlord and took forever to respond. This made life incredibly stressful. Several radiators didn’t work during a period when temperatures dropped to -12°C. We had a newborn baby and couldn’t even give him a proper bath because the house was freezing. Meanwhile, our gas and electric bills were through the roof. To make things worse, when they finally sent someone to look at the boiler, they broke it completely. We were left with no heating or hot water overnight during freezing temperatures. The only reason I’m giving 1 star is because the team was at least understanding during the moving-out process and tried to be helpful with the paperwork and flexible about the date.But everything else about this experience was a nightmare. No one should have to pay £1,200 a month to live in a house that is not even in a livable condition. I wasn’t going to speak out, but people deserve to know what they might be getting in to
