Amy Meldrum-Beechey kept us fully informed about potential properties, some of which we viewed. Whilst on this occasion we selected a property being marketed by a different agent, we experienced the same quality of service from Savills as a prospective purchaser that we did as a vendor.

17th Jun 2024 (16 weeks ago)Terrible customer service. Initial stage of coming to value the property and take photos seemed promising and I was told they had high confidence in it selling. I only has 2 viewings in 12 weeks (one of which was a time waster). I had to chase for feedback and to prompt them to ask for feedback/follow up. It seemed like apart from uploading the advert to Right Move they were not going to attempt to make any effort to sell the property. It was only when I said I was considering going with a different agent they said they can send out a matching email to potential buyers (why this was done from the very start I don’t know!). Definitely felt as though because they are a larger firm it didn’t matter if the house sold or not. I was given no advice when I called to discuss things so I decided to drop the price, still no luck. I’m really unsure what I would have been paying for if they had actually delivered.

22nd Sep 2024 (18 days ago)I have requested a few properties to view with Peter James. They never return my calls , & are very rude in the phone & ask you 100queations of why you would like to view a property. They left me out return calls for a few properties & after they sold lied & said they called me. I feel very uncomfortable now if I need to request a viewing .

Communication was excellent and I felt in very capable hands with Darren and Molly. I can't fault the service that they provide, especially as house selling can be very stressful but I didn't feel that at all. Highly recommend and thank you both so much.

Due to this being my first property I had loads of questions and Holly answered all of them as fast as she could to help me and my partner prepare. Thankyou!

11th Sep 2024 (29 days ago)Beth was fantastic, the amount of time and consideration she gave me and my wife made us feel so safe and valued. As first time buyers, taking this step was scary, but Beth made it so easy, clear and quick communication, tireless chasing of solicitors to make sure this sale was completed as soon as possible. During in a time of both solicitors causing issues, Beth kept on to them and made sure that any issues were sorted, she made sure to accommodate mine and my wife's every need, from viewings, to simple questions to easing worries on completion, she did everything for us. If you buy through Barbers and you have Beth handling your case, be sure you are in the safest possible hands.
18th Mar 2024 (6 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

3rd Aug 2021 (3 years ago)It's never easy selling the home of a deceased parent, but it helps if you are supported by a good agent. Barbers were alongside us throughout the process, offering helpful advice and support and bringing us to a successful conclusion. A sale was agreed in excess of the asking price within a matter of days, but, due to Covid-19 and other difficulties, took 4 months to complete. Through all this time we never felt cut off or out of the loop, as we were kept well-informed of progress (or lack of it!). A thoroughly professional job from start to finish - we would readily recommend Barbers.
