16th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)This is not the first time we have used Blenkin&co. We encountered them when buying a house a few years ago and were impressed at their fairness in handling the buyer/seller balance. Hence tje decision to use them when selling. This last transaction fell at a difficult time and had some complications but they showed patience, persistence, courtesy and even humour. In brief, we trust them.
I can't rate Savills of York high enough after the recent sale of my home. From beginning to end they were exemplary. It is a rare experience in today's world to find any organisation that can perform consistently to such a standard. From the initial telephone call, to completion, everyone at Savills demonstrated the highest professional standards. Telephone calls were always returned quickly and action was always taken when requested. This applied at every level of the York office. My property was sold to the first person Savills arranged to view, without going fully on to the market. But they had many more prospective purchasers lined up in the wings. But this swift sale did not distort my view. I have bought and sold many properties over the years and understand why some agents have the reputation they do. If everyone performed to the Savills level that would not be the case.
3rd Apr 2024 (11 mo. ago)Awful! When looking to rent a property you would think they would show all interest in assisting you. Sadly not, viewed a property two months ago, showed my interest. Chased 4 times via telephone in an update if the kitchen was fitted to have another view (as it wasn’t previously) to be told someone’s already now leasing it through them. Poor communication, attitude stinks, was told “well we are a busy branch” when I asked how they hadn’t informed me in 2 months as they stated they would in an email. Made to feel like an ignorance for having an interest in a property that we viewed. Which by the way had no kitchen in it whatsoever and wasn’t even warned on the pre viewing. Hence waiting 2 months for it to get fitted to view again. Absolutely awful - abrupt, rude and wouldn’t use

We have no hesitation in recommending Naish.

We must thank Jessica who has been truly magnificent, this sale would not have gone ahead some weeks ago if it had not been for her determination and help. Additionally, there was not one cocksure young individual in a skinny fit, shiny suit. Excellent service and a genuine pleasure to deal with. Thank you to Nick and all the team for their help and patience.
3rd Dec 2024 (16 weeks ago)Philip Proctor at Humberts, York makes the sometimes difficult process of buying or selling a property as painless as it can possibly be. He is an extremely experienced land agent who knows the market in North Yorkshire inside out, but he is also unfailingly enthusiastic and encouraging as well. Debbie, who runs the office is highly efficient and brilliantly helpful. Between them, everything is managed with great skill and old-fashioned courtesy. The firm recently sold a property for the family in Helmsley which sold quickly and well and we have another one with them. We wouldn't consider going anywhere else and cannot recommend Humberts, York more strongly. Also handled malicious attempts from the couple next door who tried to sabotage our sale. Diplomatic and effective in mediation and his was really above the call of duty. 3rd Dec 2024 (16 weeks ago)Awful and appalling experience with this agency. I am not sure what is wrong with them. I get a feeling that they choose only British clients, discriminating hugely . I never want to deal with them again even if they had my dream property . The communications with were very poor -- badly composed emails, never return calls, we got to chase them. Not a good experience. I will report them on Rightmove too

Nothing was too much trouble for Ben- he was very responsive and always got back to me with clear and up to date information. Very grateful to Ben & the team at Hunters for helping me get into my first home! Could not recommend these guys highly enough!
18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
