16th Feb 2022 (4 years ago)Worst company imaginable. Gave us misinformation for over six months regarding entry dates and also told us development was finished when it was not. Double check everything you are told by them. They misled us and we ended up over £18000 out of pocket. Avoid this company at all cost. They don’t admit liability for anything they do.
28th Dec 2023 (2 years ago)Had problems getting through to my team initially as messages went awry. I went up to Musselburgh and spoke directly to Cherese and everything went smoothly after that. Lina then came onboard and negotiated a fair price on the property I wanted. The score then went to good communication.

24th Oct 2025 (9 mo. ago)I have dealt with this solicitor and property agents since 1985. They are the most professional, thorough and efficient company that i have ever had dealings with in my whole life. I have bought and sold 7 properties for myself, 1 property for my mother and 1 property for my son. The property front office run by Carolyn McLaughlin and her colleagues always marketed my properties extremely well which in turn led to most of them being sold in under a month. In relation to my solicitor Mr David Vause, he is the ultimate professional in his field. David was always able to resolve any issues quickly and move transactions forward . I was able to converse with him over the phone or by email when i needed to. On the 22nd of October i popped in to the office to pick up deeds wills and other business letters to pass on to a new solicitor in Ellon. Envelope with these documents were left at reception for me to pick up and sign for. However David came down and we had a long chat about our interactions over last 40 years. What an absolute gentleman and ultimate professional.
12th Sep 2023 (2 years ago)We had exceptional service from Thorntons from start to finish. Our house sold in 4 weeks and the sales team were just so professional. Communication throughout the process was excellent and once we accepted the offer on our house the legal team at Thorntons were equally exceptional. Our solicitor was always on hand to answer our questions and provide us with best advice. Thank you for taking the stress out of selling a house!

17th Jul 2025 (1 year ago)On 16.july.25 we had an appointment with Anisah Aziz. She may have been a trainee, but this young lady was 100% professional. Clearly explained to older family members what was going on. Can't fault her in any way. Sure she have an amazing career. Thankyou happy client.

A special thanks to Stewart for his hard work on getting my property swiftly on the market and sold. Really felt that he went the extra mile and a fantastic communicator.<br><br>Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

From the start he felt like the right fit for us, easy to chat to and clearly knew his stuff. He took the time to understand what the place meant to us and personally guided us through everything without it ever feeling stressful. When it came to offers his advice was spot on and definitely helped us get the result we wanted. Throughout the whole process, it never felt like things were happening to us, we always felt part of it and in control. I appreciated that he was supportive of me leading the flat viewings too, those Whatsapps of encouragement really helped! Would highly, highly recommend Blair and Curran & Co. Thank you!

15th Nov 2024 (1 year ago)Overestimated price at quote stage and advised a lower one as soon as home report valuation was received, suggesting upset price 10k below valuation. Little feedback on website viewing figures unless I phoned to request it. Support for property viewings and feedback from viewers was reasonable. Once an offer was received, I had to email and phone Thornton's legal team repeatedly to chase progress. Title deeds were already held by Thornton's, but it took two weeks to scan and email them to the solicitor, delaying written acceptance of the offer beyond the deadline given by the buyer. Solicitor handling my case seemed to think this was normal and deadlines for acceptance of offers were usually ignored. Sale is not yet complete, but I would avoid using the same company for estate agency and legal services in future. It seems to encourage complacency and inefficiency, the opposite of what I expected.
