My wife and I had a wonderful experience at WH B. Luke has helped us to find an apartment at the city centre for a fair price. Judy showed us some properties and was very helpful with all the questions related to the city. As newcomers, it was hard for us to understand all the details of renting a property here, and they helped in every way.
Had to wait for more than 30mins, no one called back. Had to call them few times by my self and still no one showed up.
We have recently moved into a rental property in Downham Market and can’t fault the service we revived. Ben was fantastic and delt with our quarries immediately. We feel so happy that we were able to find our home with such a wonderful copmany.
Thank you Ben and William H Brown.
This has been the worst selling experience we have ever had.
Wm H Brown marketed our property well & found us a buyer quickly but after that we had absolutely no communication from them for 4 months!! At no time were we kept informed of how the sale was progressing. We accepted the offer in early April. When we were still waiting for a completion date by mid July we went into the office to find out what was going on as emails & phone calls weren't acheiving anything. On producing our file (eventually) it revealed that this was the first client contact in over 3 months!! So much for the contract stating they would keep us informed of progress!!
We were misled. Having been told we had cash buyers keen to move in by June we were never told that the buyers later decided to get a mortgage which was going to delay proceedings. Until August!!
Basically we have been ignored by Wm H Brown & the only information we received has been by us chasing them.
They took a large chunk of commission for doing nothing!!
We will never use Wm H Brown again nor recommend them to anyone!!
Thank you to Belton Duffey for a great service in selling our home. They kept us well informed - great customer service.
Superb write up of our much loved family home which we had to sell. Far more superior to the other 2 estate agents we had the property up for sale with for the past 18 months resulting in a fast sale and good selling price achieved. Very impressive and professional photo's taken without extra charges. Couldn't fault any part of the wonderful service we received and the staff were professional, friendly and efficient. If we ever sell a property again we will 100% be using Belton Duffey. The commission we paid was low and well worth the service we received and the selling price we achieved. We can't thank Belton Duffey enough.
I found the staff in the Hunstanton branch most helpful and professional with a good knowledge of the housing market in my local area. Throughout my selling/buying process I was always kept up to date and any queries received a speedy response. I would highly recommend the Hunstanton branch.
Thank you William H Brown, especially Sarah, for not only their excellent professional service in selling my mum's property, but also for their kindness and support. Can't recommend them highly enough
Faster Than A Speeding Bullet.....
Well, ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, and I have my doubts that either Ollie or Daryl could 'leap tall buildings in a single bound'. However, when it came to selling our property, they really were 'supermen'.
Ollie came round and took photos on Thursday... property went on the market Friday... viewing on Saturday... and an offer for the full asking price received 9.30am on Monday. Throughout the process we were kept informed what was happening, and any questions we had were answered very quickly.
Obviously they can't guarantee to sell all properties quite as quickly as this, but it's certainly worth giving them a try.
Appreciate this review comes amongst a lot of 5 star reviews but two things: firstly, we would have loved to have the experiences everyone else seems to have had and secondly, our experience is completely legit.
Initially Barton and Co were very personable, very keen to ingratiate themselves, presenting themselves as a tight-knit, homespun antidote to the more cavalier lettings agents that operate in the local area.
However, once we were in our new rental property the communication dried up and we rarely received acknowledgement of our emails from then on in.
Though they did replace our oven quickly when we reported it (they hadn't checked it worked before we moved in) we spent the rest of our tenancy with a radiator hanging off the wall at a 45 degree angle, amongst other issues.
We were misled as to the nature of our landlords as despite being informed that they wanted a professional couple as long-term tenants to look after their property, we were asked to leave the property after a year to vacate for a student let. The landlords wanted more dollar.
After checking, we were informed we had had the opportunity to extend our contract ataan earlier date and it was intimidated that by not doing so we had reneged on the understanding with the landlord.
This was unequivocally not the case, as our emails were never acknowledged and we were never advised of an alternative course of action once we reached the end of our initial tenancy. .
I'm sure it was incompetence rather than malice, but they would not accept any culpability nor would they meet personally to discuss. I've worked in both property maintenance and communications so I found their behaviour galling.
Furthermore, this move derailed our efforts to save for a mortgage deposit as we were forced to waste it on another rental deposit.
Appreciate the above might be a bonus for many buy-to-let landlords in terms of misleading and effectively dispatching tenants when a chance to increase their profits presents itself.
But should the wind change in favour of legislation which actually protects tenants from the debilitating effects of cowboy landlords, outfits like these will be found out.
