Special thanks to Eden Douglas!!
Very helpful and professional guy, worked really hard to ensure all parties made an informative decision. Excellent communication throughout the process!!
It's been two months since we've moved out and we still didn't get the deposit back!!! Blood-sucking leaches!! Think 3 times before renting from them
Oliver was extremely efficient and helpful in assisting us with purchasing our first flat. He communicated regularly and was very efficient in chasing up other parties involved in the transaction - lawyers, surveyors etc.
I have always managed my Saturday viewings so that my schedule is properly arranged. Unfortunately I have been waiting at one property for more than 15 mins without anyone contacting me. I called the office just to find out that this property is under offer!! No email, no phone call or voice mail to let me know about the situation before that. She asked me whether I still want to view the second property as booked with the same person and I agreed. I have been waiting at the front of the property for awhile which is fine. I asked about the details. She said is Illegal to tell me how much for service charge and ground rent. She will email to me later. Noticing my shocked face..She asked “any problems?”(With a serious face) - I do not see any point of arguing with her. Until now I have not received any email from her about the details of the property as promised. I have wasted a lot of time with someone that is unprofessional and has an attitude problem! I definitely not deal with this branch anymore.
P.s.Basic manners is important. Please learn how to say apologies or sorry - it would be appreciated more than saying
Excellent service throughout the experience. Myself and my fiance were relocating from Belfast, and the team at Bairstow Eves were very helpful and friendly every step of the way.
Extremely bad experience trying to buy a property through this agent. The process was very distressing as a first time buyer, no help support or guidance and the customer service was terrible. Because of agents such as the ones at this particular office, makes the process and experience of a first time buyer horrible and stressful. In my opinion they only consider your offers unless you are willing to take up mortgage advice and offers from their brokers, they "strategically" price properties in order to create a crazy bidding war between buyers and then lie to you! The agent I dealt was was obviously very inexperienced and very unprofessional and so was the manager.
I have expressed my concerns to head office and advised that my complaint will be taken further and will be approaching the property ombudsman.
I cant speak for all Bairstoweve offices But I would AVOID, AVOID, AVOID this particular office, if you are a first time buyer and want to be dealt with, with honesty and integrity!
I will indeed be keeping an eye on Land Registry file for this particular property (in 3-6 months time) to see the outcome of this property sale was in line with what I was informed.
We bought a property in 2017 with the help of Siân from the Crystal Palace branch. She managed to show us a property that wasn’t even on the market yet which we loved and was so helpful when it came to putting an offer in and buying the property. She was always available if we had any questions and was kind and friendly throughout the process! Thank you!
MONEY GRABBING B@STARDS
Having decided to look for a 1 bedroom flat to rent near Crystal Palace I found a decent sized property about 20 minutes walk away through Kinleigh Folkard and Hayward for £850 per month. Not overly expensive I thought. I arranged a viewing with Alex on the Saturday. She seemed helpful (don't they all) and we agreed on a viewing at 11:30am on the Saturday.
The Saturday arrived and I didn't want to be late as my journey was an hour and half to get to the viewing. Just as I was arriving at just after 11am at the front door I got a call saying sorry but the viewing has been postponed. No prior notice was given and I was pretty annoyed at the time wasted. I was called back again with a further apology saying that if I would go for a second viewing I would get some discount off of the agency fees.
I saw the property for the second viewing and liked it and got the ball moving. NO DISCOUNT WAS OFFERED and I had to part with £656.15 with was for £210 tenant fees and £120 for referencing and the rest towards the initial deposit which still left me with a balance of £2194 before the move in date which wasn't a problem.
The contract was for 15 months which I thought was odd and did query this but was told its either 15, 18 or 24 month contract.
Upon my final visit just to hand in some more papers and fill out yet more forms I was told that mid contract the landlord now wanted to implement a rent rise but also there was no figure as to how much of an increase. I told them no way and if the landlord wanted to increase the rent he would have to do it after the contract has finished. Ridiculous!!!!
Due to my mum's ill health and social services not being able to go ahead with a care package for my mum which had already been agreed with them I was forced to unfortunately pull out of the flat so I can carry on caring for her. KFH still had over a months notice from the date the flat was available to find tenants for this and have so far refused to pay back any of this money. I have been very reasonable with them and said yes they can keep the agency fees and the referencing (£330) and just return the rest (£326.15) which would have gone to the landlord. Instead, they are keeping the lot for their own profit and are showing no signs of wanting to play fair. They are going to find other tenants within the month and charge them another set of tenant fees and referencing so no doubt be quids in.
I am in the process of seeking legal representation on this as I was hoping for at least a bit of compassion and understanding. I haven't cost them any money and in fact know that they will make more now.
In the meantime. I would recommend to anybody to avoid these people as they seem to be up there with the worst of them.
A amazing team who took me to properties that were relevant to what I was looking for and what I wanted. Such a refreshing experience to work with a set of agents who actually have my interests in mind.
Definitely 5/5 would recommend going over and viewing properties with their team.
The service offered by Michael and Leigh was very good and I was truly (no pun intended) impressed with the level of detail that they gave to my purchase and the level of their communication was excellent!!! Well done gentlemen keep up the hard work.
The entire experience was fantastic. Linda found for me 5-6 properties that were in range of my original budget and never tried to go above it. All very good and was hard to make a decision. From the point of making an offer to completing, only took 4 months! She gave me advice, regular updates, and applied necessary pressure to the seller to ensure everything went as planned. Highly recommended!
Poor service and rude.
It might be a seller's market, but Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward seem to treat buyers with contempt. A general level of poor service from their agent and unhelpful responses to basic enquiries about the property, made viewing a couple of flats a frustrating experience.
