I almost never write a review online, but this deserves it...
We found a property we liked. An agent - Jimmy (??) - was not very helpful in showing the place ("this is a living room"; "idk, I need to check"), but fortunately there were owners around to ask more specific questions. The agent was very pushy on a few occasions. He said that they have one offer on the table already and we need to make a decision today, but the owners had no idea about it.
The owners told us, we are dream tenants for any landlord (great references, good jobs, handyman skills, planning to rent for a few years). Clearly, they liked us very much...
Despite unprofessional agent, we liked the property and the owners (there were going to manage the property, not Dixons), so we go down to the Dixons' office (BTW: dirty and with crisps on the floor) to put down the application. The agent could not even give us a ride because of insurance reasons (true? maybe...). But we stayed there only about a minute when Jimmy (??) asked for £500 (!!!) fee, including £250 was for holding down the property (what ?). For us it is called a steal! We left offended.
Just FYI, fees around £250 are something normal, but not twice of that!!!

Lydia and Aaron were very helpful right from the start of the process. They kept us informed of developments all the way through and were always ready to think of creative solutions and understood the local market very well. Having rented our current home for the past 14 years, which was through a friend, circumstances had changed and we needed to look at renting through an agency. Well, what can I say about Charlotte, she instantly put our mind at ease, took into account what we needed and totally understood our situation. She explained the process to us and went above and beyond what I expected, having to go through the process of finding somewhere else to live. From registering with Charlotte to moving in has been approximately 5 weeks from start to finish. Charlotte is a credit to Connells, her ability to listen and understand customers needs is second to none, I would recommend Miss Williams to anyone who is going through a renting process for the first time, she certainly puts you at ease. Thank you so much Charlotte for what you have done for both Paul & myself, couldn’t have done it without you.
