Scrivens and co and there landlord team are just another prime example of discrimination to cause stereotypes.
I am not going to look all guns blazing and play in with there tactics however I am appalled at how I have been treated by them.
Me and my partner who are both in good jobs and who both earn over the threshold to not need a guarantor, applied for a property to be told we will hear back within 3 days. 3 days came and 3 days passed. In fact 3 weeks passed! I called and was told I would be called back numerous times and never was.
I then noticed that they had updated new photos on the website for the property and took off the phrase "ready middle of october" stating it was ready now.
In the end I was getting sick of waiting so I arranged for my mother to call and good job she did as they were more than happy to speak to her! Guess what it all to boiled down to... the fact that I am 19 and my partner is 21! Guess they wouldn't mind speaking to my mother as she's older!!!!
I'm not being funny but they obviously put it down to stereotype of younger people. Now I want to know how do you expect to not get these stereotypes when no one is giving us opportunity. Everyone, and by the looks of it people at scrivens think oh young people live in high rise flats, council houses don't pay bills etc. Why don't you let your landlords meet us and give us a chance??
I would have been happier if you'd have at least kept me in the loop instead of excuse after excuse when it was all because of my age.
Thanks for nothing apart from a confidence knock scrivens!
Selling my home during a pandemic was certainly an experience and had its challenges along the way. Kerrie dealt with my sale initially when she was based at the Halesowen office and I cannot thank her enough for her patience and hard work. The passion to complete the sale is outstanding and I would highly recommend Dixons to anyone thinking about selling their house.
I almost never write a review online, but this deserves it...
We found a property we liked. An agent - Jimmy (??) - was not very helpful in showing the place ("this is a living room"; "idk, I need to check"), but fortunately there were owners around to ask more specific questions. The agent was very pushy on a few occasions. He said that they have one offer on the table already and we need to make a decision today, but the owners had no idea about it.
The owners told us, we are dream tenants for any landlord (great references, good jobs, handyman skills, planning to rent for a few years). Clearly, they liked us very much...
Despite unprofessional agent, we liked the property and the owners (there were going to manage the property, not Dixons), so we go down to the Dixons' office (BTW: dirty and with crisps on the floor) to put down the application. The agent could not even give us a ride because of insurance reasons (true? maybe...). But we stayed there only about a minute when Jimmy (??) asked for £500 (!!!) fee, including £250 was for holding down the property (what ?). For us it is called a steal! We left offended.
Just FYI, fees around £250 are something normal, but not twice of that!!!
Took one telephone conversation with a very professional polite young lady at this Branch to sort out the removal of a Sold sign which was on the driveway.. she did exactly what she said she would in super quick time and the sign is now gone. It is a pity the other Branch that we originally contacted 3 weeks ago couldn't work as efficently.
Thank you so much for helping to resolve our problem and being so professional.
Useless agent in Quinton. Rang on their number so many times today to view a house in harborne but everytime i rang an answering machine came on saying the office was closed! On a thursday. I left two messages saying that i wanted to view a property today as i was very keen. Eventually they rang me back saying that someone had made an offer on it. I could not believe it. It only recently went on the market. So i left a third message for them and still no.one rang me back. Definitely avoiding this agency in quinton. Avoid them as there are better agents around who are more professional and reliable.
Absolutely brilliant from day 1! All the staff that we spoke to regarding our new property were so helpful. Nothing was ever too much, especially for us new tenants! Mannerism was excellent beyond belief. Made the whole process that much easier! Myself and my partner couldn't be more grateful! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone. Thanks again!
I had an appointment with Baljit in March 2018 to arrange a mortgage. After the meeting he said he would need a few days to look in to it as the computer system was down. I emailed 6 days later and he replied that the computer had been down longer and to give him few more days. 3 emails and 3 months later I have given up waiting for a reply or an update. Very unprofessional and unhelpful. Would not recommend.
Sue Evans was great the whole way through the process of selling my Mum's house. She was very professional, friendly, sensitive and compassionate. She talked me through the whole process beforehand and kept me informed the whole way through once we had decided to go with Hicks Hadley. First class! I also dealt with Jon on a couple of occasions, who was also very professional and friendly.
WHEN WE PURCHASED OUR BUNGALOW IN JUNE 2013 WE FOUND HICKS AND HADLEY OUR
ESTATE AGENT VERY HELPFUL ,FROM THE TIME AN AGENT SHOWED US AROUND THE PROPERTY
TILL THE ACTUALL COMPLETION OF THE SALE . SO WE CAN HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS COMPANY.
TO ANYBODY SEEKING TO PURCHASE A PROPERTY IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
Paige and Andrew were extremely helpful when I applied to rent a property from Connell's. There professionalism and care really made such a difference and I would highly recommend their services. Thank you for all of your help and advice.
Suppose to visit today at 4:00 but no one turned up
