Everyone I dealt with in the office was fantastic - efficient, professional, helpful - but Geoff in particular was an absolute star. Usually my experiences with estate agents are tolerable at best, but D. R. Kivell was a pleasure to work with, even when it got a bit rough at the end. I can't speak for the seller they represented, but certainly when dealing with us as buyers it was clear that they were looking out for her interests too, and they were extremely fair and up front throughout the process. If I ever sell the beautiful house they sold to me, they would be my first choice of agent. I can't recommend them highly enough.

It made what could have been a difficult experience run extremely smoothly - so far! We received 3 offers within a week of the house going on the market.

Whether sharing his latest golfing or family anecdotes or diving into the nitty-gritty of contracts and small print, James has a gift for putting people at ease while ensuring clarity and precision. From our experience, one of the biggest stumbling blocks in negotiations is when parties are not fully aligned before a conversation takes place. James acts as the backdrop and container for these discussions, making sure that everyone is brought onto the same page. He keeps the conversation on track with seemingly little effort, and his ability to read situations and explain things clearly is invaluable. 29th Mar 2023 (3 years ago)Avoid this Lettings agency at all cost, they do not keep up to date with legal requirements for rental properties eg; provision of carbon monoxide alarms etc. Communication extremely poor or non existent. They will not repay your deposit back at the end of the tenancy. Had to get a statutory declaration signed by a local solicitor and sent to the Deposit Protection Scheme in order for the deposit to repaid in full.

Cameron, the Branch Manager, was fantastic from the very first valuation. He was professional, knowledgeable and approachable, taking the time to explain the current market, the marketing strategy and how best to achieve the strongest possible result. We felt confident in his advice from day one and never felt under any pressure. Once the property was on the market, Catherine and Debbie were absolutely brilliant. They kept us updated throughout the entire process, handled viewings and negotiations professionally, and worked tirelessly to keep the sale progressing. Their communication was excellent, and they were always on hand to answer any questions and provide reassurance whenever needed. The whole team at Rendells Totnes made what can often be a stressful experience feel straightforward and well managed. Their professionalism, local knowledge and genuine care for their clients really stood out.
