22nd Aug 2025 (7 mo. ago)Have had to take the property of the market and will probably relist. It's a tough market at themoment, but my property was given a high estimate that I don't think reflected the situation. The team are nice but I did have to chase a few times to get feedback and receive a call back.
24th Mar 2026 (15 days ago)Of three agents in Caterham, we selected Hamptons, not because they said they could get us the highest price, but because they believed in the estimate they gave and it was aligned with what we believed too! A few minor hiccups in comms at the beginning but once sorted the service was excellent. We had several of their sales staff show people around and Elliot brought the winning couple over and handled the comms from there. The sale and onwards purchase was fraught with challenges and took way longer than it would with issues in the chain (of 7 properties). None of them related to our sale or purchase, but Elliot was instrumental in having the whole chain talking to each other and providing almost daily updates. and speedy responses to any email we sent. (Thanks Elliot!). A special mention also to Carrie who took over while Elliot was away without missing a beat and was also very forceful?????? at making things happen. (Thanks to you too Carrie!) All in all, a great experience. Thanks to the whole team behind the scenes too, you know who you are.

30th Mar 2026 (9 days ago)Avoid this agency at all costs. We viewed a property in Sutton and submitted an offer at the full asking price, only to discover the usual trick. The property is advertised on Zoopla as a £500,000 guide price, which clearly seems designed just to attract interest. In reality, any offer at £500,000 is simply ignored or rejected unless you offer more. If the seller expects more, then be honest and list it higher — but of course that would be less attractive to buyers. It’s misleading and a complete waste of everyone’s time. Property prices are typically negotiated down, not artificially pushed up after attracting buyers with a lower “guide price”. It gets worse. The property was advertised as 107 sqm, but in reality it is closer to 80 sqm. Even a 2019 floor plan shows around 90 sqm, which already contradicts the listing. This is not a minor error — it’s a huge discrepancy and completely unacceptable. It feels like the agency is deliberately inflating the size to make the property look more appealing. Since submitting our offer, we have received absolutely no response. We also contacted the agent (Georgia) regarding this major discrepancy in size, and were completely ignored. Misleading pricing, inaccurate property details, and zero communication. Save yourself the time and frustration — stay well away from this agency.

28th Mar 2026 (11 days ago)Honestly, before using Chelwood, I thought all estate agents were the same and you end up at the same point anyway. But Chelwood provides an extra level of service that ushers the whole process along very smoothly. It helped that they were in the same building as the solicitors we used so they could have conversations between them and see exactly what needed chasing and by whom. You won’t be passed from pillar to post trying to get your sale through, as is the case in other places!
