I found KFH very helpful indeed. Kept me up to date throughout my property purchase process and were always very quick to respond when needed.
I would certainly recommend them to friends and family.
It's difficult to articulate how terrible KFH are. I'd say that their service was poor, but that would suggest that they were merely incompetent, rather than actively dishonest.
They'll encourage you to rent a supposedly furnished place, saying either that it'll have at least a wardrobe and some drawers by the time you move in, leaving you to discover that it won't, once you've put down the deposit, or that all the furniture in the flat is included, even though the majority of it belongs to the current tenants. They're happy to show people round without notifying you and to lie about this subsequently. Only one agent, who presumably wasn't slippery enough, faced any sort of penalty for this.
They'll misrepresent contract negotiations to your landlord, presumably to gain more through new tenant fees, and become almost aggressive when you suggest that this isn't acceptable (on being asked why he'd misrepresented our requests and told our landlord that we would definitely break the contract before the end of the tenancy, Will declared that it 'wasn't done through spite or malice', which seemed rather odd).
Dealing with estate agents is obviously not something anyone wants to do, but, from a tenant's perspective, both having rented through them and observed their untruth-riddled viewings to prospective tenants, I suggest you do all you can to avoid KFH. A look at the positive reviews on here reveals interesting similarities (dates, details), which would make sense if the service was consistently decent, but it's worth considering that this is a company that employs people that thinks lying about making telephone calls ("oh, er, you must just not have got the voicemail message...I don't know where it can have gone") and not checking appointment times with tenants is acceptable...
Martell helped me view a few Properties. Very easygoing and great way of handling everything in general. Highly recommended!
Nathalie Navasothy is by far the worst person I have ever dealt with in estate agency! Everything she has said/done has been wrong from the start.
1.) Breaching data protection, by adding my flat mate into our email conversation which had my banks statements on!!!
2.) Saying the flat was fully furnished, which it wasn't.
3.) Getting the offer wrong on the offer form
4.) The old tenants are moving out on the Friday, so we can move in first thing on Saturday, that was wrong! Tenants are moving out on the Saturday so we have to wait.
Being the assistant manager, you think she could provide a better service, I would seriously avoid.
I had a great experience of KFH as a buyer. The agent I worked with (Freya) was very professional. She helped to ensure that the process was very smooth, and I believe her expertise and professionalism made the whole process swifter and easier.
Terrible experience working with Kinleigh Folkward & Hawyward. Having worked with a number of quality agents over the years, KFH charge the same type of fees but do not provide as good a service as the likes of John D Wood and Foxtons. They did not ensure everything we put in the agreement was completed before our move in, did not inspect the property enough to know it was full of damp, were slow on responses, did not even ensure a professional clean was completed before we received the keys, all of which was in the contract. To get respectable tenants, you need to choose agencies like John D Wood who provide high quality service.
As a first time buyer it can be a pretty daunting purchasing a house especially when doing it by myself. After having a quick call with Edward she showed me around a few properties all which were right up my street. He understood my needs in a home with no hidden agendas and my best interests at heart. He was always on time and was super reactive, I requested to view a property 1 hour ahead of the time and he made it happen! With so many estate agents out there Edward stood out as he wasn't pushy he took the time to understand my needs and thus was successful in introducing me to my new home!
James King - incompetent at best.
Beware of all the glowing Jacksons reviews...
I have had two dealings with James King at Jacksons and both left me wondering how he manages to get away with it. Firstly when I was buying a property that the vendor had on with Jacksons, James convinced the vendor to put it back on the market when we were well into the process and waiting for the searches to come back. That move nearly cost the vendor a sale they badly needed.
Secondly on another property, James sent this 'URGENT' letter to me, saying that he was working in the area. If that's urgent James, I do worry.
When I went into the office to speak to him, his staff didn't have many good things to say about him.
I wouldn't trust the guy as far as I could throw him. If you're selling or buying, I would avoid Jacksons if I were you. You might lose a sale due to his arrogance.
Thank you Joe for landing us the flat of our dreams! He has been professional, genuine and hardworking throughout the house hunting process. He has had the patience of a saint whilst tirelessly managing the expectations of 3 slightly high maintenance females! We have now moved into our flat and couldn't be happier. I would not hesitate to recommend Joe to anyone.
Fantastic experience with KFH. We were struggling to find a good property and Farhana and the rest of the team really helped us out!
I have to say I've never really had a positive experience with estate agents before. I'm always wary about what they're trying to sell me and don't trust what they say.
This is the complete opposite of the way I have felt going through KFH. For the first time I have felt at ease and comfortable. There was no pressure on us to take the place offered to us but we loved it!
Richard has organised everything for us so quickly and has communicated with us so well the whole way through. Within less than a week of first viewing the place we have been able to get everything sorted and signed and we are able to move in! We couldn't be happier!
Myself and my fellow tenants have been very happy with KFH's service. KFH have been helpful and professional right from the property viewings through to securing our flat. Moving house can be very daunting and stressful, so it's been really nice to be guided with such patient and friendly service from Shaun at KFH Raynes Park :)
