24th Sep 2024 (17 weeks ago)The company is a very responsible company with enthusiastic and patient service. In August 2022, I was nearly 70 years old and came to Newcastle with my granddaughter who was not yet 15 years old to attend high school. The first difficult task was renting a house. The company's new manager received us and helped us choose a house. He was not afraid of trouble until he helped us find a satisfactory one. I rented it for two years and received meticulous care and assistance. Around Christmas of the first year, the warm air broke down in the evening and the weather was particularly cold. The company employees had already finished work. I called Manager Zeng, who arrived soon and personally repaired it until late at night, which moved us a lot. Due to my lack of English proficiency, Manager Zeng specifically designated a young employee named Xiaoqiu who can speak Chinese to contact me. Xiaoqiu is also very enthusiastic and responsible. I sincerely thank the new manager and his team of this company from the bottom of my heart!
29th Oct 2024 (12 weeks ago)Friendly and efficient customer service. I dropped by the office after viewing a property and was greeted by Megan who walked me through the letting process. Megan and her colleague Caroline followed up with my application right away and got me sorted. The front of office team is very adept and approachable.
15th Oct 2024 (14 weeks ago)I recently rented and sold a flat with bridgfords Washington and unfortunately I’ve been left very disappointed with the service provided. Bridgfords were noticeably more expensive than competitors (I.e. 40% premium on other estate agents) and the service provided when selling the flat was poor overall. When I’d call their offices I would either not be able to get through or would be promised a callback which wouldn’t materialise which was very frustrating. The sale of my flat took 10 months with no chain and it realistically shouldn’t have taken anywhere near this long. A lot of the delays were caused by unresponsiveness either by bridgfords or by their recommended solicitors (which were also unresponsive and expensive compared to competitors). This poor service was disappointing and could have largely been avoided. Without emails/calls chasing there were weeks which would pass when nothing progressed. I was advised by bridgfords to end tenancy (2 months notice) as I was under the impression that completion was imminent, after tenants moved out the flat was empty for nearly 2 months which increased unnecessary costs of owning the vacant flat. Unfortunately at this stage I wouldn’t recommend using bridgfords.

19th Oct 2024 (13 weeks ago).... average when they don't have your money and very poor when they do, after completion. There's a bad apple there who doesn't seem to know there job role or the fundamentals of customer service and worsens this greatly by not being the least bit polite , quite a passive aggressive tone going over to cold and unhelpful. Over all it depends who helps you get but it's like flipping a coin pot luck. I'd say their overall a poor unprofessional outfit and certainly aren't at all customer based. They need to support people selling from start to finish and quite simply the dont. They only care about their fee.... 1/10 at best

7th Dec 2024 (6 weeks ago)They managed to find a buyer for our house which we had failed to sell on numerous occasions before. We got a price that enabled us to purchase another property with some money left over. They liaised very well between us and the buyers over queries we had and kept us informed. My only gripe was the continuity of personel as we had several different people involved at different times and I would have preferred one contact person throughout.

Ours ended up being a really difficult move that went on much longer than it should have, and Tracey, Leanne and the team were absolutely amazing from start to finish. We have always had a positive experience and found the whole team went out of their way to support us as both buyers and sellers. During our recent purchase there were several issues that needed to be resolved and Lorna & the team did so much to enable completion.

It's now been circa 6 months and they refuse to send the confirmation code to the Deposit Protection Scheme. Clearly due the full amount as they never stated within 7 days of tenancy leaving that there would be deductions. Moved in July 2024 (around 5 months ago) and we still have outstanding maintenance issues to be fixed despite raising these issues through Hive’s maintenance system the first week we moved in. We have contacted multiple members of staff regarding these issues and half of them have been resolved after chasing them but the rest seems to be forgotten about. I have now gave up chasing for them to be fixed.
18th Mar 2024 (10 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

7th Jan 2025 (12 days ago)Very friendly and enthusiastic. Maybe a little over-optimistic about valuation and expectation of offers but excellent photos and communication. A little more expensive than other estate agents I consulted but I liked them the best and they have sold in my block before.
